Just as the thread title says, since updating to iPhoto '11, my event folders are not displayed in the right order according to the date the pictures were taken. Anybody else have this problem?

I have pictures that are in the incorrect "Events." Since iPhoto '11 auto-creates Events based on the time period the photos were taken, it is inevitable to get some into an Event you don't want them in. I might take 15 pictures in the morning of the sunrise, then take some pictures at the baseball game, and then another of something that catches my eye sometime during the day, and then some more photos at sunset.
I want the sunrise/sunset/sky pics in one event, the ball game in another, and the solo picture in no event, or an event called "Misc." If iPhoto '11 lumps them all into one Sunrise Event, how do I go about separating them out?
I have several iPhotos events. They largely consist of digital pictures tagged with the right dates. However, recently I imported some of these such pictures off of an old computer. While they are labeled with the right days, iPhoto seems to be listing events in the order they were imported in. Thus, I have pictures taken in 2003 next to my Christmas pictures from this year. I'd rather just have everything in chronological order, by date taken. Is there a way to do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy camcorder is fairly old, it uses a tape, however it still downloads directly to iMovie digitally: don't ask.When I download it, I press import from camera. Then a window pops up and I press record, then it records the tape. However, once it makes a new event for it, and sometimes it imports under 2003! And I can't put it under the correct year!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with SOME of my albums in itunes. Some of them ( aprox 20%) are displaying the sogns within an album in an alphabetical order. I do not have "track" in the column header selected. I have tried selecting "track #"but this does not rectify the track names into the original album order. I can not manually enter the track number either in the "track #" field to manually rectify this as iTunes does not allow you do this. It is really frustrating that I have to listen to some of my albums in alpabetical song name order rather than the order the artist wanted me to. I am relatively new to iTunes, and have burned dozens of CDs before. However, all of those CDs have been complete albums. I tried to burn my first mix recently, and found that the CD had been burned with the songs in the wrong order.
I must be doing something wrong, but there doesn't seem to be too many areas where iTunes makes it even possible to mess something this simple up, so I pretty confused.
I make a playlist, hit burn CD, select Audio CD, and go. The songs make it, but like I said, in the wrong order. They get organized by album, but I just want the CD to look like the playlist on the computer.
Has anyone run into something like this? It is iTunes 8.0.2.
As the title says, I just can't get Preview.app to print a 33 page PDF using 2 pages per sheet in the correct order. It will print two pages per sheet of paper, but page 1 will come on the right, 2 on the left, 3 on the right, etc. I tried every possible combination in the "Layout" menu to no avail.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have 20gb of photos stored on a portable hard drive. I'd like to copy all of them onto my macbook pro. When I download them to iphoto they show up under EVENTS. If I drag the individual folders to ALBUMS am I using up an additional 20gb of storage space on my hard drive since it doesn't look like the EVENTS folder has changed/moved?

I recently lost all events from iphoto 08 7.1.5 (not sure why but it coincided with HDD getting full. I have tried various things to rebuild the library, reimport etc but I cant get all the events back. I do have time machine but I imported a load of photos since last backup and cant lose them. All the original photos appear to be there but just cant for the life of me get the events to appear back

She has tons of photos and has become very frustrated at how hard it is to move photos between events, (cutting and pasting being the best method I could tell her to use) in iPhoto. Before she arranged them as folders in the Windows explorer and it was easy to drag a photo from an open folder in the right hand of the explorer to a different folder in the vertical list on the left hand of the explorer. It got me wondering if anyone knows of a way, or a program, that will allow the events to all be viewed in a drop down in the left hand sidebar (perhaps like exposing all of your playlists in iTunes) of the iPhoto window, allowing you to open events in the main part of the window and simply drag photos to a different event on the left? I suggested just using the finder to organise them, but then editing becomes difficult.

Is anyone else experiencing this behavior? My latest "event" is October 2, but in Photos, the latest group in there is from today. can I delete the "events" then? are these two thing separate now?

does anybody know how I could export my manually ordered photos from an iPhoto album in a way that would make the output files have names like 1.jpg, 2.jpg... instead of the original ones, so my friends could see them in correct order when just viewing them in Windows Explorer?

I've got a whole lot of music, 45 days worth, and I view it by date added and want to keep it that way for a number of reasons.
Problem is, when I want to play an album I have to click on the first track, then switch to album (or artist) display by the end of that track.
The other day I added an album by dragging it into iTunes in the Finder. I noticed that I could start and stop and advance and rewind tracks and it would go in order, from first to last track, even in Date Added mode, so it was visually moving up and down instead of from top to bottom.
Is there secretly a way to view in Date Added but have the next track be the next track on that album? Besides dragging the tracks into iTunes from the Finder I mean.
If anyone has a way to do this, it would seriously improve my life and I would be infinitely grateful.
I see there are several threads already on how to hide photos in iPhoto, but the hidden photos remain visible in the events. I am able to hid them, but they still show up in the events preview, and when you move the cursor over the event, the hidden photos are visible. Is there a way to completely hid a set a photos as well as the events preview? Password locked is preferred.

Events make absolutely no sense�photos are hard to organize within them, it's difficult to find an event even after they're all organized, and every photo has to be in one�including random shots that really don't belong in to any grouping at all. I think I'll stick with folders. But, is there a way to hide/disable events in any way? The events menu is on the top of the left iPhoto column and it's automatically selected on occasion. New ones are also created every time I import. I used to be able to hide albums, but now I don't want to use events�how can I get rid of that?

Here is the problem everytime I restart my computer all the pictures from two of my events folders in the iphoto opens up at same time, meaning I have around 25 pictures or so opens up upon restart. I need to close them by using the function command and Q to close all at once. Often Time I hook up my computer to give presentation at work and its quite embarrassing that every one can see my pictures.

View 4 Replies View RelatedTo more easily deal with the increasing number of regular document files I have, I'm wondering if the standard 'Finder', or any other software that is available, can be set up to load the most frequently used, say top 50, files into a folder where it would automatically update. This would preferably be an icon in the dock, if not a main folder in Finder.
I know the system can order folders and files according to 'last modified', but that still leaves me to search all folders. One way to do it, I guess, would be to destroy all folders then it may order them as I want, but it seems a bit drastic. To find older files, I guess I would just have to rely on 'spotlight' or search.
I would like to get these into alphabetical order just like I have them in events and I cant seem to figure it out.
