View 1 RepliesI have iLife '08 and iWork '08 already installed on my iMac and am not planning to upgrade them.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently am running ILife 08 and IWork 08; what can I expect to see during the 09 upgrade?
Does the 09 apps just upgrade themselves or will I have to follow some other procedures for installing ILife & Iwork 09?
I am running Snow Leopard as my OS.
iWork 08 compatible with iLife 09?
View 1 Replies View Related16Gb ST Lab SSD drive - I was wondering if anyone knew if it was a benefit to install the OS / ilife 09 / iWork in here, would I see an improvement in terms of performance in comparison to my 320Gb 5400 (which I will soon be upgrading to a scorpioblack 500Gb)
Install a memorycard reader in here as at the moment I am transferring my digital pictures either via usb from camera or via an adaptor.
Ideally I would like to go with option one, but only if that actually improves the performance of my system.
Does anyone expect to see updates come to iLife 09 to extend support for OpenCL and Grand Central shortly after Snow Leopard is released? Or do you imagine this will be held off until iLife 10? iLife features some of the most resource intensive apps (iMovie, Garage Band, iPhoto) used by most users so I believe that Apple could really showcase the improvements brought to Snow Leopard from both OpenCL and Grand Central by doing this asap. Here's to hoping we don't have to wait long for this functionality.
View 2 Replies View RelatedApple on Monday evening released two software updates for iLife '08 owners. The first, iLife Media Browser Update [2.66MB], improves overall stability and addresses a number of other minor issues. It is recommended for all users of Aperture, iLife 08, iWork 08 and Mac OS X 10.5.6 Leopard or later. Also released was iDVD 7.0.3 [27.4MB], which improves overall stability and addresses a number of other minor issues.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn iWork 08's Pages application, I need a keyboard shortcut to edit the cell contents. Example: current cell contains the text "new client" -- I decide I want it to read "new clients" without typing it all over again. In Excel for Windows, I would hit F2, that would give me a cursor at the end of the word "client" and I was good to go.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am considering purhcasing iLife 09 to upgrade from iLife 08 that came pre-installed on my early-2008 MacBook Pro, as I like the new iPhoto features, (the iLife app I use most frequently out of the entire bundle), but I was wondering if by doing so there is a chance I may lose any files.
For those that did the same 08 to 09 upgrade, did you lose an individual photos from your library, albums altogether, events, slideshows, etc.?
For those that didn't lose them directly in iLife/iPhoto, what about on the HDD itself, and vice versa?
long time reader, first time poster. I know this topic has been beaten to death - but I've read all the post and have not found an answer for my question.
If you have iLife 08 installed and just installed a new copy of iLife 09 - does the following happen?
1. iLife 08 gets removed.
2. All Data from iPhoto 08, iMovie 08, iDVD etc, gets transferred to the new application.
3. No Importing is required to move any of the data over the new version of the software. It just works as if you didn't even have iLife 08 in the first place.
So i have iLife '08 installed and i'm about to install iLife '09. Do i need to uninstall iLife '08 first to install iLife '09?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a:
Macbook Pro running Mac OSX 10.5.8
(Office 2008) Word, Exel, PowerPoint, (Iwork 2009) Numbers, Pages will not save:.
I tossed the Word Plist file and that did not work.
I have run Virus Barrier X5 and found a about 10 files with Virus 'W97M/Pinky.B' "Quarantened" them and still have the problem.
The problem started -- I think -- when I was doing heavy editing between Numbers and Word. But I don't think it is related (though who knows at this point). Without these programs I'm rendered pretty useless.
Are there any teachers who use the iWork software (Pages, Numbers) as a lesson planner? I'm thinking of switching from iCal (will keep it only for scheduling and alerts, as it is meant to do) since it's not very convenient to enter a lot of text in an event. Still have 2 weeks left before school, and I'd like to create a Planner with the iWork applications - and then the beautiful iPad comes in.

I need to update iWork on my Mac cos iWork 08 docs don't work on my new iPad. But iWork 09 is about 18 months old now so surely will be updated soon. Would anyone who is learned in the product cycle of Mac apps care to hazard an educated guess on an update?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIndeed, is there a difference? I notice that Family costs more than the other one, but I can't make out what difference there is in the description.
View 7 Replies View RelatedTo anyone who has bought iLife 11, how did you upgrade from 09? I cannot seem to find any documentation regarding this procedure on Apple's support site.
Do you first have to uninstall 09 and then install 11 or can you do an in place upgrade? By this I mean, can you simply install iLife 11 over top of iLife 09?
I did a spotlight launch of imovie and i clicked on it, and imovie 08 is still in my system. Would it be safe to delete the imovie 08/ idvd 08/garage band 08 so it does not interfer with 09. I just dont wanna loose any of my info, i just dont want both on the system, getting confused with them opening up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen the recent ilife 09 (8.0.1) update appears in Software Update people of both ilife 09 and ilife 08 reported that it appeared for them. My question is, is it safe to apply this update for those who are on ilife 08?
I've just checked my Software Update and found the ilife 09 update, and I don't have ilife 09, I only have ilife 08.
Is there any talk of an update of iwork '08 during Macworld '09? I am a switcher to Mac as of last month and I really like pages instead of word. I've been using a trial version and I'm going to buy it, but I was wondering if I should stick it out by using google docs in the event that they release iwork '09. By the way, in case any admins are reading this post, why don't they include Apple software in the Buyers Guide?
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhy is save as an iWork 08 file an option in the new iWork 09 programs? Does iWork 08 use a different extension that cannot open iWork 09 documents?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I used the iWork '09 trial for 30 days now and now I have a box version and I want to simply use the buy function from the trial to upgrade to the full non-trial version. It has: Quote: If you've purchased an iWork '09 box, you'll find the serial number on the Installing iWork '09 booklet. There's only one problem, there's no serial number on the booklet! How do I install using the buy function or do I have to install the full iWork suite again on my computer? Seems kind of silly. If so, do I need to then uninstalling one of my versions of iWork '09? And if so, which one? How do I tell the difference at that point?
Some of you might be wondering and about to comment on the fact that I should have just bought the online version and saved the hassle. The reason why I bought the box is because I could get it for $39 at my girlfriend's campus computer store.
So a while back I had final cut pro installed, and eventually deleted cause I no longer needed it. I used AppCleaner when removing to try and make sure I got it all.
Well every time I do a software update it wants to install "Pro Applications Update" and "Prokit Updates" Which are updates for final cut pro and its related apps.
Any idea how I can stop it from wanting me to install these updates for something I no longer have?
When I check for software updates only itunes and random other updates show up but not security updates or safari update. When i check installed updates I realized my last security update was 2011-004 and I still have safari 5.0.6.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn Apple Stores, there is always a blue iWork folder and a yellow office folder on the applications (left) side of the dock. Is there any way I can do this on my Macbook Pro?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIt was advertised as coming with iLife '09, but the box said "with iLife '08
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 7 Home Premium and the Boot Camp 3.1 Update on my MacBook Pro.
What other updates do I need to install? Are there things that I need to do/uninstall?
The battery seems to be draining a lot quicker than when I'm on OSX, is there anyway to fix this?
There's also some weird noise coming from my MacBook Pro when I'm on Windows. I can't really explain it but it's like some kind of a scratchy noise. I ejected all my disks, so I don't think it's coming from the super drive.
The scrolling of the trackpad seems go really fast and just a little stroke makes the page scroll all the way to the bottom. Is there anyway I can fix this?
I need to update my itunes in order for it to recognize my iPhone as a device. To update my itunes I need the new OS X version. I click the apple icon on the upper left of my screen and click "software update." It searches for software updates, but it concludes that there are no updates available. Any clue why I can't update this Mac?
Info:
iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.11)
I really want to update my mac to the new version of Snow Leopard or Lion but to my understanding I must buy the disks to update it. However I feel like buying a macbook pro to my replace my mid-2009 white macbook, once I graduate so I could use it for college (which is 2 years from now and I'm saving up for it). Also how do I backup my mac (hardrive)? I'm quite lost. I'm told that I must use Time Machine, but how? Do I use a CD to back up? Some external drive and if yes where could I buy one?
P.S. I'm a newbie with tech stuff. I'm no genius with it so I suggest to take it slow with me. PLUS there's no Apple Store here to help me out.
1) Upcoming software updates? *secretly wishes they were FREE*
2) Backing up my hardrive?
