many of you guys probably know the splendid app, album art thingy; it automatically puts cover art and lyrics to the song you're listening to in itunes. well , I was wondering; is there an app around that does the same thing or that is even better. or an app that is available for free or cheaper than the 15 $ that album art thingy costs?
View 12 RepliesI'm a freelance journalist and want to start using software that will help me keep track of contacts, projects, outlying opportunities, etc. Daylite gives me damn near everything I want, but I cringe at the $189 price tag. Are there any alternative programs out there that provide the same sort of functionality for less cash? I've played around with the trial version of OmniFocus as well, but I can't figure out any way to have it store contact/client information and link clients to projects...and I really need to be able to do that.

Next to my unibody Macbook Pro June 09's disc insert thing on the right hand side of the MBP, there looks like a little port or something? It's to the left of the disc tray which is on the right hand side of the MBP. I could have sworn that port wasn't a port, but now I think the cover fell off or something? I have a late 2009 MBP and when I press my f12 key usually a thingy zoomed in over my screen that had like a calculator, world clock, weather, and something else. I liked this thingy. It worked this morning while I used it to help do some basic math (I'm not a math person). But a few minutes ago when I hit my f12 key it didn't pop up! Instead there was a little dashboard thingy at the bottom of my screen that slid in and said "widgets" and reminded me exactly of the annoying widget dashboard on my old PC. I don't know how or why it has changed. How do I get the cool "zoom in over my screen thingy" back?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI keep my large music collection on an external drive connected to an Airport Extreme in my home. I've embedded all my album artwork in the music files, and previously all the album artwork was displaying perfectly in iTunes. After upgrading to iTunes 10.5, however, most of my albums are missing the album art in the album list and Cover Flow. I know that the art is still in the file because it shows up in the "Now Playing" box in the lower left corner of the screen. The only way I have found to get the album art to show up again in the album list and Cover Flow is to go through the following steps: Control-click the first track of an album for which the cover art is not displaying correctly. From the context menu that appears, select Get Info.Click on the Artwork tab, then click Cancel.
Now the artwork shows up in iTunes in all views. I called Apple Support and asked if there's a faster way to fix the issue with the database. Manually fixing each album for hundreds of albums is no fun. Telling iTunes to Get Album Artwork doesn't work because most of my music was not purchased from iTunes but was ripped from CDs I already own. It's very frustrating because I already spent hours finding and embedding the hi-res album art in my files. I paid extra for Apple products because I expect them to at least avoid corrupting my databases.
When importing multi disc CD albums they will show up as three separate albums, 1,2 & 3 for example.How do I set it up so they show as one, 3 disc album and play through?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, when I download the album artwork from iTunes for "Music from and Inspired by Spider-Man," it instead shows artwork for "Ethnicali: Music Inspired by the Golden State." I don't even have that album. There was another album of mine that iTunes applied the wrong artwork to as well, but I can't remember it off-hand. In any case, does anybody have any suggestions as to what I could do to fix this issue. I already submitted feedback to Apple about the problem as well.

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro is a significant upgrade at a lower price than the original aluminum MacBook it replaces. With the same unibody design popular with consumers, students and professionals, all 13-inch MacBook Pro models now include a seven hour built-in battery, an SD card slot, a FireWire 800 port, an illuminated keyboard and an improved LED-backlit display with 60 percent greater color gamut.

I've been having a strange problem with album art not showing up in Front Row. Inside of the iTunes program I have gone through all the songs to see if they have album art and they do, it shows up in fine in iTunes. However, with certain songs in Front Row they do not show up. I was wondering what the problem would be here. Does the actual song file have to have the art embedded or something like this? Has anyone else had this issue with their album art not always showing up in Front Row?

I've downloaded the correct art work but it adds it to the file and doesn't delete the incorrect one. The incorrect one still shows in iTunes and on my ATV's. I'm new to the Mac as well.

So the "second" album has tracks 2-4 of 4 and the first, 1 of 4. I have done all the usual stuff, selected them all and bulk changed / retyped artist, album name , cover art etc. Anything I might be missing?

When I try to add it to .flac, it just shows "Album cover not modifiable" and when I try to add it to .aiff files, it does it, but then when I quit iTunes and restart it, it's gone again.
Is this a bug or it just not possible to add album cover to them?
Btw: Audiophile, would prefer .flac or .aiff over .mp3
Im new to Itunes and I have a set of cds say the set is called Open Heavens and it has 4 cds in it. Is there a way I can put all 4 in one album. Im going to sync it over to my ipod so I want it to show me when I click on music the name of the series then I click on it which will be open heavens then inside I will have the choice from my 4 cds.

They will all have the same artist and album name. Rather than import them into iTunes individually and entering the same information over and over again, I'd like to find a program that will allow me to assign an artist and album name (and maybe other info, like genre, etc.) in a batch prior to importing the files into iTunes.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy iTunes window is set to Cover Flow, and my songs are sorted alphabetically by Album title. Before iTunes 10, I could skip to albums by pressing the letter on the keyboard which corresponded to the first letter of the album's title. So pressing D took me to "Deadwing", for example. Now in iTunes 10, if I press D in the same way, I get to "Best of Bowie" ('cos it's by David Bowie). Now it seems that suddenly the letter keys now correspond to the artist name, not the album name. Does anyone know how to change this back? I've searched and been through the preference settings etc to no avail.
