How is Team Viewer for a "back to my mac" replacement?
I am interested in it for it's good price (free?) and being windows/mac compatible... so i can have renders running in windows and run them from home...
how is Team Viewer in general?
How to change my settings to be able to connect to team viewer.

For unknown reason, it seems that Adobe program is being used to open the pdf documents recently. Anybody knows how to set the default pdf viewer to Preview?

I have got iWork '08 and love Keynote far more than PowerPoint but my uni uses Windows PC's so it means I have to use PowerPoint for my lectures.
I know that if you save a Keynote presentation as a quicktime file, that works, but very few of the PC's have iTunes/quicktime installed.
I have a problem that safari uses adobe acrobat to display pdf files. I would like to change this setting back and use the standard viewer that comes with the system.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Quicktime Player that was included with my MAC doesn't work very well for me. When it loads into the browser there is no way to resize it so all you get are tiny movies on my nice big monitor. Also, it doesn't play WMV (it just downloads the file and shows it as a text file). I'm used to WMP playing everything that I needed. Is there a simple movie player that I could use on the MAC?

Looking at a PowerBook that has Applecare - The screen in the listing picture is not too bright. The seller has stated that all is well with the screen, but you never know. I am prepared to go for it if the Applecare covers the screen lighting. Applecare cover on notebooks appears to be worldwide - If the screen lighting conks out overseas, I can get it fixed at the local Apple Store?

I can open my apple mail but can not view the email nor click on it to open. I can not open terminal. I can not open software update.

I have only just moved over from PC to Mac.
Paint shop pro 8 was the last program that I used.
I was using Entourage and loved the Project part of the software. For individual projects it keeps scheduled events, contacts, emails and files all associated together. However, my university's IT asked me to stop using Entourage due to some networking issue so I've started with iCal and Address Book and I'm looking for something to replace Entourage's Project.
I've looked at Bento, and Soho Notes, but they don't seem to have a scheduling side to them and I don't think one can just drop different sorts of files into the relevant project. Other pieces software I've heard of are Yojimbo, DevonThink, Soho Organizer and some Omni softwares, but I'm not sure if they will be any better and the learning curve on a couple of these makes this a hard endeavor on my own.
i've been using switch to convert audio files forever, but it's slow and always makes my macbook fan spin out of control (and NOTHING else does that). anyone have a good, comprehensive, FREE alternative to switch to recommend?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just found out about pollux [URL] from TUAW and unfortunately I found out a little too late. It seems to be this great app that works similar to Shazam on the iPhone. It reads through your iTunes library and fixes all your songs to have proper titles, albums, album art, etc. The servers are down according to the site. I don't know how long this has been the case and don't know how long it's going to last. Does anyone have any FREE alternatives that they know of?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI love Apple Mail, but it simply can't handle the bulk of mail I have/receive/need readily available. I thought it was just the number of accounts I was using, but on my new machine I currently only have my personal one and it is DREADFULLY slow (I can't even delete messages in bulk, I have to break them up by scores; which may not seem that big a deal until you're deleting a sent box with 40,000 messages in it). Any suggestions for a Pro grade replacement? Something that can handle multiple accounts, moving large amounts of messages at once, bulk forwards, mail lists, etc.? Freeware preferred but shareware or payware is fine.

Today, I decided to create my own type of FLIQLO screensaver called "FlipClock." Here's a screenshot: Here's the download link: FlipClock Installation is simple. View 24 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I was looking for the ability to use an on screen keyboard in OS X. I found the option through System Preferences --> Language & Text --> Input Sources.
After I turned it off (by unchecking Keyboard & Character Viewer) I still see the Keyboard Viewer pop up when I go to install anything. I don't see the Input Menu in my Menu Bar anymore.
Anyone know how to disable it for good?
I have a new MacBook Pro (100% up to date) and when i click links for PDFs, Safari opens up a new tab and the whole tab is a darker grey color and the PDF never displays. I have followed many suggestions of deleting this AdobePDFViewer file but unfortunately I do not possess it. So I downloaded Adobe Reader and installed it. I set it to not be the default and to not open PDFs from Internet. I deleted Adobe Reader and then I found the AdobePDFViewer file and I also deleted that. But I still can not view PDFs in Safari.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had Adobe Reader on my MacBook Pro and it was fine until the latest software update. Now it won't show virtually any .pdf downloaded from the internet even if I "trust" the site.
I have removed it from my Mac even thought Adobe gives no support on how to uninstall. I just want to set Preview up as my default .pdf viewer.
Why is the viewer distorted and discolored? The second picture is a screen shot of the master file.

Sometime in the last several months, Safari (now at v5.1.2) on my Mac (OS X 10.6.8) stopped being able to view PDFs natively. It will download PDFs if I make it do that, and then I can open them in Preview or Acrobat. But when I try to open any PDF from any website within the browser, I get a blank page (or the current page) with the PDF control bezel overlay, which looks like this:
But the PDF content never appears in the browser. This happens with any PDF file, such as the one at [URL]
The Adobe PDF plugin was removed from /Library/Internet Plug-Ins a long time ago. So that is not the cause of the problem.
Google's Chrome browser will display PDFs in the browser. Firefox will download them and open them in Preview. It is only Safari that is giving me trouble.
I'm having the same problem with Mail but with the latest Lion version (OS X v.10.7.3).Can't quit Mail, can't read messages, can't shut down.I just moved to an Apple computer with the hope to live in the "promise land" of no more crashes.Never happened to me on a PC a problem like that.
