What's going on with Safari (i'm on latest version & SL)? I thought it was the "fastest web browser" and yet it has issues opening 5-10 pages at the same time in tabbed mode when selecting "open in tabs" from bookmarks.I understand it can't load all pages quickly at the same time but even after few min (and i have a fast DSL connection) some pages appear crippled, some missing entire images, etc.

I have been using Safari for a few years now, and the only problem I have with it is that I have never been able to have more than one page open at a time. On any PC, I have been using internet explorer and can have, for instance, an internet radio station playing as welll as being able to surf other pages without losing the radio station. On Safari, as soon as I have the radio station playing, if I then want to look at other pages, the radio station web-page has automatically switched itself off. I am sure it is just something to do with the settings, but I don't seem able to fathom out what settings I need to change.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSafari wont open any pages such as youtube, facebook etc saying that it cannot establish a secure server. This just happened about 3 hours ago just as my mac went to sleep. The only new thing I did was use an HDMI cable to connect to my TV. The mac had been shutdown for low battery because i fell asleep on movie. Anyways, I woke up plugged in my charger only to find that i can't connect to certain sites... Further compounding my problem is a taskbar that says "The certificate for this website is invalid. You might be connecting to a website that is pretending to be <url here>.

Safari unexpectedly begain opening multiple tabs without a prompt after I accepted the latest Java update. This slows my Mac to a crawl and I am wondering if I can correct this myself, or have I picked up a virus? I am running the latest version of Lion and my Mac is only a couple of years old

Like the title says, when I open multiple tabs at once Safari hangs my network. Maybe two of tabs are loaded the others are stopped in the middle...and the whole network hangs...

When I open a new web pages in Safari, it closes the current page. I want to be able to open another (i.e., split screens) in safari without closing the current page so I can work between the pages. I'm new to the iMac, but I had this feature on my Windows PC.

Whenever I launch Pages, the application opens pretty much all the documents I've worked on. I take care to close all the windows, hoping that they won't launch again next time I start the application, yet they do. I can't find a setting in the preferences or Settings to disable this behavior.Â

Before turning off my PC system, hopefully forever, I downloaded all my MS Word files to a USB stick. I'm a writer and only worked in MS Word for my work.I just purchased iWork '09 and am very impressed with the Pages App and I'm very excited to start working in Pages '09. when I insert my USB stick with all my Word Docs on it into my Mac Pro, is it a case like under Windows/XP where you just open up each file with the Pages '09 program or is there something more to do to get Pages '09 to open the file up and save it within Pages '09? I understand Pages '09 works with MS Word files (as well as formatting to Word docs to send to colleagues).

If I insert another TOC in my document, and update the content of that table, pages still updates the first TOC, too, even though the second TOC is in another section.

In order to be able to change the order of the chapters I please, I have made a section out of each and every one. Now I face the following problem: The first, I think, four pages I have enumerated with roman numbers, the rest I wish to have in Arabic numbers. However, now that I have introduced sections, each sections restarts the arabic numbers. So, e.g, page 10 start as 1, page 11, again, as 1. Each next page is a new section, therefore, starting with one. So, how do I make those sections behave properly, and continue numbering properly?

I am clicking a link to open a PDF in Safari and it brings up the window asking what program to use to open it... however, Preview is grayed out and I cannot change to "Enable All Applications" like you can normally, i guess because it's in Safari it's different.
I am pretty sure this started happening when I deleted an Adobe Acrobat Pro trial.

For some reason all of a sudden I can't visit www.google.com When I try to hit it, Safari says the Server can not be found. However when I go to Google's IP, http://64.233.187.99/ the page loads right up. Every other website loads fine except www.google.com. Also for some reason I'm not connecting to my POP email anymore in Mail. What happened? How can I fix this?

I have Safari set as my default browser and I have RSS feeds set in Safari preferences to use Google Reader as my default RSS reader. Problem is when I click the RSS indicator in the address bar of Safari to add the feed Camino opens up with the dialog to add the feed to Google Reader.Obviously this should happen in Safari not Camino. I also have Google Chrome, Firefox, and Opera installed along with Camino and Safari. All the other browsers RSS work as they should. What could be causing this in Safari?

I have the first and third option checked in the tabs preference but it doesn't seem to matter. Here is an example of what I mean, in google mail, if I choose the google finance option, it opens it in a while new window, not in a new tab in the same window.
