Jan 27, 2010I'm fairly new to Macs so I am not quite familiar to what applications are out there that are available to me. The thing is I am currently using widgets in my Dashboard (iStat Pro and Temperature Monitor) that monitors system temps, but the problem is it tells me the temperature of what my MBP is at that moment. I want to know if there is a program that can take the max and min temps so I can keep track of how hot/cool my MBP is at all times.

Dec 31, 2010Hi, so I've been using Blender off and on for about a year and a half and I was thinking about buying a different program. I'd like to keep it under $200 but if its a little over that fine. I was thinking about Silo but I don't really like not having the ability to extrude single vertices and subdivide objects like in Blender. Also if their are any products that have a student discount or something like that for someone in high school that would help too.

Jan 4, 2011I noticed that iStat and Temperature Monitor report different temperatures for the same readings on my G5 Powermac Dual Processor System. For example as I am writing this Temperature Monitor is saying My CPU A is 46.8C and CPU B is 46.7C. In iStat it says CPU A is 55C and CPU B is 54C. Which is right!?

Jan 13, 2011I'm trying to burn some DVDs. I first burned in Finder and found out the hard way that that makes terrible quality data disc DVDs. Then I tried on iDVD, and at first it said it would only take 3 hours to burn a 1 1/2 hour movie on Professional Quality, so I was happy. But as it was encoding, it jumped to 16+ hours! So I tried again with only high quality, and it still said 8 hours, and now after 10 hours is still encoding. So, I need something else that's faster. I also need something relatively easy to learn/use. It may sound like I know what I'm talking about kind of, but I really don't and I just barely figured iDVD out. I still want it to convert into DVD quality discs (and good quality - I just got a new HDTV and would even like to try burning HD or Blu-ray discs). And I need it to be free.
So, my needs are:
#1 - FAST
#2 - FREE
#3 - GOOD QUALITY CONVERSIONS
#4 - EASY TO LEARN/USE
