I have a couple of DVDs that are pretty scratched but still play relatively fine, is there any software out there that I can use to create a copy of them? I only need to do it with just these two so free software would be preferred.
I have heard of Xcode but I can't seem to find it anywhere on my drive. I need this app for a class, and I really don't want to use the computer lab's old windows machines. Anything like Visual Studio for OSX?
I have a Macbook running on snow leopard and I wanna upgrade my internal hard drive as it is currently too small. I downloaded Carbon Copy Cloner and cloned my entire hard drive to an EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE. Now, I have that new internal hard drive from wester digital. What do I do with it? replace the current internal hard drive with the new harddrive and then how do I get the data from the external hard drive with my cloned data to the fresh western digital? Do I boot first from external hard drive etc? I am not sure what to do now?when I was given the option which hard drive to clone (or which part of the hard drive to clone) there was also the option to clone "Install Disk". I don't need to clone that, right?
Would I be correct in saying that if I was to use CC to clone my macbook HDD that I have protected with FileVault while I am logged in with the account that is protected then the backup will be an "insecure" backup and will not be encrypted on the destination disk.
I used Super Duper to create a bootable clone on an external firewire drive. When I restart my MBP holding down the option key I can choose the external drive. OSX (104.11) starts to load and then encounters a name and password popup. Entering the administrator name and password of the original drive fails. Only one account on the machine - still using the admin password originally chosen.
I am looking for a free RSS feed creator so i can make an RSS feed. I already got FeedForAll, but it is a 30 day trial and i don't want to pay 30 bucks for the full program.

Does anybody have any knowledge as to what would be the best free photo editor? I am looking to start such a hobby, but would like to get a feel for it before my purchase of Aperture, as I don't want to regret my purchase.
I'm looking to change my icons systemwide, but I can't afford Candybar. Is there any free alternative that I can use icontainer files with? Not LiteIcon, because I can't get the icontainer I want to use (Kobhens) to work with it.
The reason I need this is for the xbox 360. If you have a flash drive you can watch movies on your tv just through a flash drive. The problem is all my movies are in .avi and they have to be .wmv.
Im trying to make a copy of a DVD. Ive used Mac the Ripper to rip the entire DVD. I have it in a Video_TS folder waiting to be burnt. I was going to use the app "Burn" to burn it, but the Video_TS is currently too large to be brunt to a DVD. I need to compress it first. I know apps like Popcorn and Toast can do this, but I dont have the money to pay for any software right now, and I am looking for a free solution.
I need a free photo shop alternative. I tried gimp, Choco shop, and live quartz. I disliked all of them. CAn you give me a free alternative that is a download (not a big fan of online stuff).
I recently-ish converted to the Mac from Windows, and with it my MP3 collection migrated too. Unfortunately I cannot find a decent free MP3 ID3 (metadata tag) editor to replace MP3 Book Helper [URL] on Windows. Itunes is rather cumbersome as information needs to be entered in manually and individually. Does anybody know any good ID3 editors for the Mac?
Does any one know of a good IRC client that works well also is very user friendly? as i looked in google and there is a number of them but i do not know what one is the best or what ones are free.
Are there any free vnc apps that work with Snow Leopard? Tried Chicken of the VNC and JollysFast and neither work. I know about the Screen Sharing app, but I am having problems connecting to a Tiger computer, so want to try a separate VNC app...
