Is there anything other than iCal I can use to create a schedule? iCal just doesnt seem as easy as it could be to create a pretty basic schedule. Would prefer a free option but would also like to say apps I would have to pay for.
View 8 RepliesI'm trying to create an event in iCal and invite attendees but I get an alert saying I need to create my email in OSX Address Book. I'm already in there and I've even recreated myself - still no luck. There must be a link somewhere in preferences of otherwise of iCAL to link my email to it - but can't find it.

I have a calendar in iCal labeled "headaches"
I go to print, select list, tell it to start at june 2005 and continue through today. Wwhen I tell it to print, it prints out EVERY SINGLE DAY, not just the days that have headaches.
So at my new job they use Exchange Server 2007 for mail and calendars, and supposedly I should be able to view other people's calendars, but I can't find any way to do this in iCal.

Is there a way to schedule when an application launches; e.g. 10min after startup? Similarly, is there a way to get programs to automatically quit at a specific time, and re-open at another; e.g. quit at 9:00am, turn on at 12:00pm?

I am coming up to my monthly cap of onpeak and i am either asleep or not home during my offpeak times. View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a program that will let me delete old Time Machine backups on a schedule. I am aware that TM will delete old backups once the drive is full. However, I don't want to let TM fill up my hard drive (having a ton of backups is not useful to me, and I use my hard drive to store movies as well), and I don't like having to manually delete backups when I want to add more files to my external hard drive. I've read many forum posts that recommend "just letting TM do its thing."
I'm just looking for a way to minimize the number of backups that are kept so I can keep plenty of open space on my hard drive for when I add to my movie collection. I'm already using TimeMachineEditor to back up less frequently, but what I would really like is a program that will automatically delete an old backup every time I add a new one. Ideally, I'd like to back up once a day and keep a week's worth of backups. So, once I have 7 backups on my hard drive, the next time my computer backs up the oldest of those 7 will automatically be deleted.
I just used the ical calibration tool to sync ical up with my google calendar and it works like a charm. I love how i can just click on dates in Mail and add them to my iCal which then pushes i to google calendar for my wife to see...that way i can sneak tennis or a round of golf in and she can't say she didn't know
At any rate-i would like to know if there's a way to pull her cal stuff to my ical. I can see all of her stuff on my google calendar, but i dont have the "right" to add her account to ical. I assume i could just have her enter in her login info - but i would like to know if that's the best way.
Trying to get them to talk to each other - I've input the Google account into iCal preferences, and it shows up fine. But I seem only able to sync one way - if I add an appointment in Google Calendar - then sync - it shows up fine in iCal. But if I add an event in iCal and then sync - it doesn't show up on the Google Calandar.
Is there a free solution to sync iCal to an android phone?

I downloaded Transmission so I can download torrents, however I want to schedule them to run between 2am and 8am on my off peak hours. When I go to preferences>bandwidth and go to schedule the speed limit, I am unable to set the times in the data boxes, it won't let me add numeric data. All I can do is toggle the arrow buttons from AM to PM. I had the same problem with igetter, so I'm assuming this problem is something to do with the settings on my mac and maybe not transmission.

I would prefer the backup to run when I am not working on the computer (instead of every hour). Can the Time Machine Scheduler be trusted or is there another option to manage the backup schedule?

I am in the process of setting up iChat on my spousal unit's iMac. I've already created a Jabber account, using her gmail address. That seems to work fine. Now I'd like to add an AIM account. When I click on "Get an iChat Account..." in the Account Setup window,It was my understanding that this signup gets you an AIM account, but it from the first line on the page, it seems to assume that you're using .Mac (even more oddly, since .Mac doesn't actually exist any longer).What am I missing here? Aren't AIM, MobileMe and .Mac accounts the same for purposes of iChat?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just have a quick question about Numbers (iWork '09). I need to graph some supply and demand graphs for school. How would I go about doing this? Whenever I create a graph based on a chart, it just plots each row as it's own line. I can only edit the values in the Y-axis, and obviously I need to be able to work with the X-axis as well.
Update: I played around with it more and figured it out. I guess you have to graph it as a scatter plot and then choose to connect the dots, and remove the dots, rather than choose the line graph, whose icon looks just like a graph of supply and demand.
I'm trying create 200 MB rar files out of a 700 + MB directory. When I check "split archive" and select "user defined" under the volume size dropdown and click create rar, it creates 500+ rar archives! Nowhere does it ask me how big I want the volume size for "user defined". Does anyone know how to use this app? I mean, I know how to alternatively archive into 200 mb parts (zip them, split & concat the zip file) but that requires the user to unarchive twice.

I want the main menu to contain an image with the front and rear musculature of the human body, and you can then choose a muscle by going up and down. When you click the muscle you enter a submenu where a small list of videos are available where you train that particular muscle.
I have made a .psd with the images of the body in black and white, and about 10-12 layers where the same muscles are cut out and coloured red (highlighted areas which will light up while navigating in the menu). [URL]. There is the .psd file if you want to see what it looks like.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like a little more information on create a split rar archive in OS X 10.4.11. At the moment I have downloaded winrar and copied the rar file to /bin/ and I can execute the command

to create a split archive, each part 50mb each.
But the only problem with this is that it will create files using the extension .part#.rar and I would like it to use .r00 .r01 .r02 etc.
this is kind of an annoyance and I can't seem to find any answers online. My left column on Mail usually has 3 folders (inbox, sent, trash). That's how I like it. Every once in a while though, it creates a new folder under my email address. Why does this happen, and can I stop it? In case it helps, I only have 1 email address and it's a .me account. Also, I do send emails from my Mac, iPhone and occasionally [URL] from a work PC. I don't know if that's relevant, I just wanted to get as many facts out there as I can.

I find it incredibly annoying as it changes the order of my folders so I forever clicking the wrong one. I have tried hiding it, but it just created another folder.
