Does anyone else notice fonts in Google Chrome don't look as good as they do in other browsers like FF and Safari? They look cramped and unkerned. Am I the only one? It's distracting after coming from FF and preventing me from using it. Though that's not the only reason. I do like the speed of Chrome though.
View 3 RepliesI've just installed the Google Chrome beta for Mac. When I open it, this is what I see: A bunch of little boxes with an "A" character in them. I believe this is the "Last Resort" font that displays when the desired font is unavailable. I do use a font manager so it's possible the font Google Chrome is looking for isn't activated. What would that font be?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've observed that since its launch, Google's Chrome browser seems have quickly reached Safari's overall quality and become equal, if not possibly even better, than Safari.
So it's made me think� could Apple simplify things by making a deal with Google to simply adopt Chrome as their default browser on Macs and iDevices?
The browsers are equal at their core - both running on the engine Apple essentially brought into being (Webkit.) And Apple could work with Google to implement their custom features (Top sites, cover flow) into Chrome.
But ultimately it seems to me it's a bit of a wasted resource to have both companies developing what are almost identical products. And it seems that Google treat their browser as more of a priority � so would it be better to just leave the browser side of things to Google?
I just tried to install a web browser on my MacPro, but after I down load the file and try to open it to install it gives me a Warning saying "No Mountable File Systems" on Both Firefox and Chrome! Other applications install normal.

When I have tried it (on four different computers, different networks and locations) a lot of websites don't seem to work at all. I keep running into situations where some plugin seems to be required, but no plugin or fix exists. Why then are so many technology news sites writing such flattering reviews of this browser? Is it really fit to compete with Safari and Firefox?
View 5 Replies View Relatedthe preferences barely have any options to do anything? i wanna make the size of the letters bigger and have it as a default but i cant figure out how to do it. when i click zoom in it makes it bigger but as soon as i go to a different page it switches back to normal. anyone know if it can be done? im also trying to organize bookmarks and have a google toolbar at the top right of the browser like safari has. i dont even see a popup blocker. what gives? are these things possible to do with this browser?

I loaded new fonts onto my MAC today and now when I go into Safari and browse the internet, all of the fonts on any website I go into have been changed into some ridiculous font! View 3 Replies View RelatedI seriously thought that this was a new trend of some sort....I noticed a lot of sites lately have Helvetica showing up as outlines rather than solid letters.Today I just happened to bring it up to a friend of mine and asked him what he thought of this new trend showing up and showed him a site as an example and he said "what are you talking about" and showed me a screen shot....his looks normal....mine looks like outlined letters.
Does anyone know why this would be happening? It happens in both Safari and Firefox for me....I'm thinking it might be a font installed on my computer somehow overriding a default font but how would I look into something like this or fix it?lease help - now that I know its not some new trend to have outlined letters....I want it back to normal!Heres the same images we swapped...mines the dumb looking one.Its not EVERY font....just THAT font and only when in bold.

The strange fonts show up on:It does this in both Firefox and Safari.I am using a Macbook running OSX 10.5.4 and Firefox 3.0.1I have reinstalled Firefox and same thing happens. Again, no matter, as it does the same thing in Safari.P.S. The @ symbol doesn't show up sometimes, and it also seems that and bold text is not affected, and looks normal.
View 11 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I downloaded around 1000 new fonts and installed them, all fine yesterday, but today, Safari, Firefox and Chrome are all using really whacky fonts from those that I downloaded. It happens in google and some webpages, but it's really annoying. I've been through all the preferences, defaults, fontbook (and deleted all the ones with major errors) and I deleted the font that it was using, until it chose another one, trying to fix it but with no luck

I'm currently running snow leopard and I use Fontagent Pro 4 to manage my fonts. For some reason, even though all of my fonts are deactivated in FA, they are all available in Microsoft Office and CS4 applications! With ~3000 fonts, you can imagine that these applications take a while to start up (especially office - CS4 apps tend to be a bit speedier). I've tried everything I can find on - cleaning font caches, etc.

In the FONT book I have lots of great fonts under "ALL FONTS". When I open Word I can only access about 60% of them...in FONT Book, when I try and drag them from ALL FONTS to COMPUTER (which are the fonts that Word uses), I get the duplicate font response which, when I try and RESOLVE, I disable fonts.
How can I access fonts in ALL FONTS (listed in FONT book) when using WORD?
Is it possible to set Mac's Firefox fonts to not appear as thick as they do? (2nd pic) It is especially apparent with Chinese characters, at times makes them hard to recognize, in particular the characters with lots of strokes.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe issue is the user is using Linotype Font Explorer X. I would like to move them all over to font book or just drop them in the font folder and let the applications handle them (if possible).
I exported them and tried to import them into font boot but 85% of them appear to be damaged. When i double click on the file they ethier dont open or open a blank text edit file.
How can i go though 1000s of fonts to find out which ones are usable and which ones arent? opening them one by one will take forever.
So we OS X users haven't been able to get our hands on Google Chrome, yet, but apparently there's this new browser set to fill that void called "Stainless."
I've tried it out and it seems pretty good, but I'm interested in seeing its benchmarks in comparison to Chrome. I'm lovin' the GUI of Stainless!

One day last week it just wouldn't load anymore. i can click it and it will appear in my taskbar like its running, but no go on the UI. I've "googled it".... the problem that is... wow googling a problem with google. What are we coming to? Anyway, I've seen some stuff about it not running on Windows XP, but nothing about MAC.

Is there a way to import the Office 08 fonts into Pages? I looked in /Library/Fonts/Microsoft/ but there weren't any font's there.
Just moved to my new iMac 21.5. and MSOffice 2008.
How can I use fonts from my Font Book in Word? Must they be moved into Word's font library?
