Mar 18, 2012All my bookmarks in the bookmarks bar. I want to move them all so they are just in bookmarks menu dont want anything in bookmarks bar. I have edited renamed moved the bookmarks from bookmarks bar without a problem until I quite safari. Once I reopen safari all changes I made disappear and it reverts back to original with all bookmarks on bookmarks bar. what am I doing wrong that i cannot make permanent changes to my bookmark bar on Safari 5.1.3?

Safari :: Bookmarks Won't Save And Bookmarks.plist Missing?
Jun 7, 2012After my recovery drive went missing and trying to reinstall it, had to do a format of my hard drive and reinstall everything once I got OS X reinstalled and up-to-date, I tried to import my bookmarks from a backup bookmarks file, when I quit safari and re-open safari bookmarks were missing and default ones back in place. When searching though the forums for how to fix this problem but too know unluck they did not work.

Jan 11, 2010I find it incredibly useful in Firefox but I'm training myself to really get used to using Safari as my main browser. On a personal note, I'm glad I have a shaved head because I would've pulled out all of my hairs by now, trying to find this online. Searched everywhere. May 15, 2010 I originally made most of my bookmarks through Safari; I then moved those bookmarks to FireFox, and subsequently added more bookmarks there (but all under Safari). There are no bookmarks under Firefox. When I open a bookmark from FireFox, I go to BOOKMARKS-->FROM SAFARI---> BOBS BOOKMARKS--->Folders/subfolders & titles of bookmarks. I would like to print out these bookmark links, how do I do it? Can't figure it out.
I don't want to migrate them to my new computer because it will just add more layers of complication. I want the new system without all these subfolders etc etc. If I can print them out I'll manually type them into my new browser bookmarks. Otherwise, since I have both old & new iMacs side by side & running, I'll look each up and do it that way.

Jul 16, 2004I continue to have problems with Safari after the Version 10.2.8 Apple pulled a year or so ago. It Unexpectedly quits everytime I hit any arrow, delete or modifier key. I decided for some reason to once again delete Safari and everyhing I could find. Anyway I want to get all the Safari bookmarks from my powerbook which works fine, and get them over to my iMac. There appears to be no way to save or transfer them! Unless I use .Mac which I can't afford.

Dec 14, 2010where my bookmarks are, it's light grey. This may seem trivial, but it's bugging the ***** out of me lol. It happened recently [~week or two] ago when I was on Leopard. When I upgraded to SL, I hoped the issue would resolve itself, but it carried over. I also tried reinstalling Safari to see if that would work, but it didn't.
Also, I logged into my Guest account to see if it happened there too, but nope. Its only my account, so it's something user specific..I just have no idea what.

But I have a complaint about it.On a MacBook, the screen isn't wide enough for all of my bookmarks to show up in the bookmarks bar. The "bookmarks" menu in the bookmarks bar is hiding the last bookmark I have. How do I get rid of that? The top menu already has a bookmarks pull down menu.
