May 28, 2012I seem to be having constant kernel panics when using my 2011 iMac (OS X 10.7.4), they seem to happen primarily when using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 and happen from about 5 minutes of using the program to about 30. Even if I am not using adobe though the kernel panic still happens after about 30 minutes. I uninstalled Adobe and all seemed fine, so I attempted to reinstall it, but part way through the process it kernel panic's again. I was wondering if it could be when I am doing stuff on system intensive programs, so I tried running a game of Civ V, and that didn't seem to have any problems.

Mar 12, 2008So, I wanted to get a version of photoshop for my mac, so I googled in and I found out that at the end of March, Adobe is releasing Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for the Mac. Does anybody have anything to say about this? Is it a good editor that does all the main functions of CS2 and CS3?

Mar 7, 2012I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 on my iMac. I also have iPhoto as it came with the iMac when I bought it. I don't really want to use iPhoto at all. I want to use PSE. How do I set my computer to open PSE when I insert my memory card or when I plug in my iPhone or for any other thing that uses photos? Can I just completely uninstall iPhoto?

Dec 18, 2010I am having a problem with Photoshop Elements 8. The software will not open on my iMac for it says that I am missing applications or something around that ballpark. Once I come home from my gf's house I will be able to give you guys/girls the exact message I get when trying to open PSE8. I do not know if the PSE8 is compatible with my current iMac due to its model/year/specs etc. I purchased my iMac around the year of late 2006 early 2007. Should PSE8 be compatible with my iMac or not?
I believe it should, but yet I do not know the reason why it will not open. I recently purchased the Bamboo Pen & Touch for my gf and it came with the PSE8 software. I Installed the PSE8 on her iMac (Which she purchased the Black Friday that passed.) But before installing the PSE8 on the iMac, the Bamboo installer was installed first. Maybe I need to install the Bamboo installer before installing the PSE8 software that was included with the Tablet product?

I checked Adobe web site; but their site does not say if I can just drag the folder icon for Photoshop Elements to the trash can or not. Nov 6, 2007Is anyone running PhotoShop Elements 4.0 on Leopard? I installed Leopard last week only to discover that PhotoShop Elements 2.0 won't even launch anymore. Adobe says Elements 4.0 isn't designed for Leopard. But, I'm now desperate for photo editing software. I've got about 5 years of learning invested in PhotoShop Elements. So, I'd prefer not to have to learn a new package.
I'm going to try out Acorn to see if I can get it to work. I downloaded Pixelmator. It looks sharp! But, the brother who designed it seem to have gone missing and their forums report many and major bugs when running it on Leopard (even though it was supposedly designed for Leopard). I just need basic functionality to save pictures for my website. Just a lasso tool to drop out the backgrounds, change the contrast and brightness and to be able to save to .gifs and jpegs.

Aug 3, 2008How to deactivate Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac? I want to uninstall PSE 6 but the uninstaller tells me to deactivate PSE 6 first. However, there seems to be no option for deactivation in the applications installed with PSE 6 (i.e. PSE 6 for Mac itself, Bridge CS3, Stock Photos CS3, Adobe Help Viewer 1.1). I have tried to search the web and Adobe's knowledge base... with no luck. Search in PSE 6's internal Help returns one result for 'deactivate' - but it's something about editing pictures. There's no 'Deactivate...' under Help menu.

On the second r third clip it always either kernel panics or the screen goes black and makes noise. This is a 2009 i7 2.8 with 8gb RAM. Just for kicks I tried same thing on my 2010 i3 iMac. It freaks out also but is different. I get snow. Guess that's why it's called snow leopard. Anyway I'm going to revert back to 10.6.4 and see what happens.

Mar 21, 2012I upgraded my MBP to 8GB RAM in order to have a more smooth workflow running Premiere and MPlayerX for Video editing. After I watched several clips with MPLayerX and started to import them into Premiere and start to edit them, I can see on Activity Monitor, that the 8GB RAM are nearly fully used and the computer starts to go very slow. In Premiere you can choose to use only up to 6GB of RAM and leave the rest for other applications. I did that obviously, but nothing has changed. It cannot be true that 8GB is not enough to run the system. I have to admit that I am working with quiet high Bitrates HD footage (AVCHD files around 40Mbps), but thats not even top of the range. So, to live with that for now I have always to quit MPlayerX or Premiere or even restart the computer to free my RAM again.

Jul 1, 2014I don't do much with tape anymore but a client has provided me with some HDV tape that i want to edit as ProRes in Premiere Pro.
I don't have a third party capture card so therefore in Premiere Pro I am limited to capturing only as HDV from tape.
I'm thinking of capturing as ProRes in FCP 7 (which I had done for ages before switching to Premiere in the wake of FCP X) and then importing the subsequent ProRes files into Premiere from the capture folder.
Final Cut Pro X :: Sequence Edited In Premiere - Changing Audio Channels
Aug 20, 2014Someone edited a sequence for me in Premiere. The audio was recorded 4 channel on a external recorder (four mics were used). At times, he used the wrong channel in the timeline. I believe what he did was take all the channel one audio and put it on the timeline and deleted the other 3 channels. Hence In many cases, using the wrong mic.IS there a way to swap channels in the timeline? I would almost need to do a reconnect, but swap channels at the same time. I use FCP and will convert this to a FCP sequence using 7toX.
