May 25, 2012I've given my daughter my old itouch and have created an apple id for her with funds so she can download and update her own apps. In the settings, her apple id is correct, but when she tries to update/ download apps, the prompt is my apple id (i guess because it used to be mine) and we cannot find out how to stop it automatically prompting for my id and replace it with a prompt for her id. We sync all our music up to the same mac.Â

May 10, 2010I don't know when it happened but in a recent update of itunes I lost my "convert to_____" option. It's not in my import settings. They are set to MP3. But regardless, I don't have ANY convert options. This is a serious pain if they got rid of this feature. Anyone else having this issue or know what's up?

PowerPC :: 12" 1.33 IBook Not Getting Along With ITouch?
Jan 29, 2009I have a problem here. I posted it in the 'iTouch' forum ,but no one seems to be able to figure out the problem. Before I schedule an appt., I figured I would give it one more shot.
I, or my parents, have a 12" iBook that they are trying to sync their iTouch too. It has worked in the past but as of now it will not recognize it. It will charge it but not recognize it on the desktop, finder, or in iTunes. However, if I put my iPod, iPhone, external HD on the iBook it shows up. That, to me tells me that the USB ports are good on the iBook.
Next, the iTouch shows up fine on my MBP as soon as it is plugged in.
Both the iBook and the MBP are running the the lastest version of leopard (10.5.2?) and the iTouch is at the latest as well (2.2.1.) I can't remember the numbers exactly. Im on a windows and none of this is sitting in front of me.

May 12, 2010At the cusp of reaching its 10th version, iTunes has grown to become bulky and complex with too many functions scattered around. It's lost its characteristic Apple simplicity.
Just like iMovie and Quicktime were rebooted as a blank slate in their new versions, iTunes is due for a rewrite from the ground up.
I propose taking inspiration from the best glimpse of Apple's vision of the future (iPad) and applying it to iTunes.
This is a collaborative effort so please feel free to take what I've done and refine it.

Mar 13, 2012My son has a 4th gen iTouch and was using the family PC Windows desktop iTunes. The PC got infected and the hard drive was wiped out. Needless to say we are converting to the "Mac" side!!!! My son purchased a secondhand MacBook which he LOVES. He now needs to figure out how to get his complete iTouch library (purchased and other sourced music) to the MacBook iTunes. Â
We cannot access the PC hard drive to make a backup and the last backup he did only has about half of what is on it now.....( I know, back up regularly...my bad!)  I have read and heard so many things about NOT being able to do this and "no prob". I guess our concern is losing everything on his iTouch if he connects it to the MacBook.Â
