Aug 10, 2009I am going to do a clean install when i get leopard and i wanted to see if i remembered everything to do before i delete everything.
- Take screen shot of
1. dock
2. menu bar ( istat )
3. application folder ( program icons )
- all documents
- Programs
1. full list of programs
2. firefox - add-on's, pref, themes, bookmarks
3. candybar - icons
4. photoshop - stencils, workspace's, disk image
5. garage band - jam packs disk image
6. system pref - video codecs ( apple qmaster, divx, flip4mac, perian), logitech control center, istat
What are some other items you guys have found really useful to have when redoing everything? i have all my itunes music on my external, is there anything on my computer that i should keep?
ITunes :: Purchased Items On IPhone But Not In It?
Mar 9, 2012I just attempted to update my iPhone to IOS 5.1, but before the update started I got this message: "There are purchased items on the iPhone “Charles Bond’s iPhone” that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating this iPhone. Are you sure you want to continue?"
I don't understand this message. I thought that if I bought a song or an app from my iPhone it would be brought to iTunes on my MacBook when I did a synch, or direclty from the store. How would I identify what items the message is referring to, and how would I add them to my library?

Applications :: Itunes Unable To Download Purchased Items?
Nov 3, 2009I have a gateway laptop running vista. I purchased 251 songs and videos on itunes. When I attempts to download I receives the error.
"Unable to check for available downloads. The network connection timed out.
Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again."
After running all the useless itunes diags which pass. I contacted Apple and they told him that I needed to modify the network settings. I verified that all network setting where fine. Apple told me it was his computer so I bought a Mac and the error still continue on the new computer.

Mar 21, 2012I just upgraded to 10.6 - and was horrified to find out when opening iTunes again, my playlists, podcasts, purchased items, etc weren't there. It's a total iTunes reboot! All my audio content is stored on an external HDD (yes, its plugged in) - though the iTunes Libraries are on my laptop.
how to recover these without having to go through the hassle of Time Machine?

Have I missed any 1080p from my Library I need? iTunes should be able to show this information. Apr 21, 2012I recently discovered that an app I previously purchased is no longer on my iPhone or iMac. When I log in to my Apple account and look at my purchase history it clearly shows I paid $4.99 for it on March 11th 2011. Now if I go to the App Store to re-download it I see that it's $4.99, I assumed once I clicked on "Buy" that a pop-up would appear notifying me that it has already been purchased and ask if I would like to re-download it for free. However, when I click on it a pop-up appeared asking if I would like to buy it and that $4.99 will be charged to my credit card if I do. Has anybody heard of this happening before and more importantly does anyone know how I can re-download this app without paying for it?

I purchased Lion when it came out and it's always shown in the App Store as Purchased or Installed, but now I don't see it. I'm signed in to the same account on the same Mac. App Store :: Get A Hidden Purchased App Back?
May 30, 2012I accidentally hit the "x" on the "Purcased apps" page of the Mac App Store. I know that if you go to Store -> View My Account and click "View Hidden Purchases" it should show me the purchases that I have hidden, and allow me to "UnHide" them. However when I click on the "View Hidden Purchases" link it leads me to a page that says "You do not have any hidden purchases." I know I do, because it even says "You have hidden 12 items" to the left of the "View Hidden Purchases" link.
I know that this seems kinda confusing, it's even confusing to myself but my mind is boggled. I don't understand why it would be saying that I have 12 hidden items, then I click the link to view them and it says I have none. I've tried logging out of and into the app store and restarting my computer.
