Aperture :: External Edit With PSE 12 / Getting Empty Window
Jun 19, 2014I am running Aperture 3.5.1 in current version of Mavericks on a MAcBook Pro. I am trying to use PSE 12 as an external editor to resize, merge and some other stuff I want to do prior to printing on an Epson 3880.
When I try to send a file to PSE by Photos>Edit with PSE 12, an empty window opens in PSE. There is nothing in the Photo Bin. What am I doing wrong or is this not possible to do without exporting a TIFF to my desktop, etc.? I am checking PSE out with their 30 day demo version, if this makes any difference.

May 28, 2009I ahve just bought a Canon EOS 450D. I am hoping to start taking alot of photos with this camera in RAW format. I like how easy to use iPhoto is and I love all the other things iPhoto can do such as Books and Calendars etc.
I like using DPP (Canon's Digital Photo Proffesional), to edit the RAW photos as there are alot of settings in there for editing RAW's.
At the moment I use iPhoto to import my photos from my camera and then organise them using iPhoto. I have set iPhoto to edit the photo i click on in DPP when i want to edit and that is all fine and good until I make a change in DPP. The change dosnt appear in iPhoto. I am wondering if it is something to do with the fact that DPP can not see the iPhoto library.
Is there anyway to make my current setup work or dose anyone have any suggestions as to a better way to import, organise and edit my photos.

Aperture :: Photo Originals Are Missing In 3.5?
Jun 20, 2014I was going through my projects in Aperture and noticed that 1300 photos from a wedding I shot are missing. Well I found them in the trash along with several other photos I deleted on purpose. However there was a distinct difference between the files I was missing and the files I purposely deleted. There was a symbol in the bottom right hand corner. After some research, I found that the symbol meant that the original or source files was missing. But the picture looks like it's there. This also means that I can't edit these pictures of export them. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?! I didn't delete these files. I imported everything together and need to figure out how to get them back. Are they tucked away some where? I know when I imported the photos I included all the originals and data associated with them.

Jun 1, 2014I'm trying to clean up my projects and organize them better, but I'm stuck because I have mistakenly gathered unrelated photos into too many projects. I just want to move a photo from one project to another, but I'm not getting how to do it. I've been able to merge projects which has worked a lot, but some photos just don't belong in the projects they are in. Is there some simple thing I'm missing?

If this is not working as intended, is there something I must do to have my Photo Stream updated after I've edited it? May 26, 2009I'm new to Aperture, I've always used Iphoto. I've recently imported a large library of photo's from Iphoto into Aperture. I selected to store the photo's in their current location. Is there any way that Aperture can automatically update the library once I add it to Iphoto or my computer? I'm always adding photo's to my computer. As it is now I have to manually import the selected photo's into an event and then drag it from the event to my library. Is there an easier way then this? is there some option that I'm missing?

Aperture :: 3.6 Wrong Photo In Main Viewer Pane

Aperture library 62,000+ photos. Main photos stored in directories (not in Aperture library)
Question to resolve: When I am using Aperture at time when in "Split view" or "Viewer" mode my photo selected will be of a previous photo l have looked at or just static screen( fuzzy bunch of lines).
I can correct this by restarting Aperture but the fix does not last long. The am not sure what changes the duration of the messed up viewer (cycling photos, sleep the laptop, ect.) But at times the fix might last a day or two other times only minutes. If left alone it has never fixed it self with out a restart of Aperture. I have repaired permissions and completed a library rebuild.
This condition only started with the update to Yosemite

The images look like thumbnails to low resolution clip art and some date back to 2006.

Aug 14, 2008I had to reinstall my computer from time machine when apple replaced it; everything worked great except Aperture refused to open. I re-named the existing Aperture and re-installed a fresh copy and now my library has disappeared.
My Aperture library was set up to leave the pictures where they were, so I didn't loose any pictures, but I've lost all of my Events, folders, groupings etc. Does anybody know what files I need to restore in order to get that stuff back? I never had an Aperture Library package in my Pictures to begin with.
Software :: Backing Up Aperture Library With Time Machine
Nov 27, 2007He has a pretty big collection of RAW photos that he manages through Aperture and has recently upgraded to Leopard, with the backup abilities of Time Machine being the major driver. I don't use Aperture myself so I'm not 100% sure, but I think that I am right in saying that Aperture stores all of its picture sin a single library file. If this is the case, will Time Machine make a new copy of the entire Aperture library every time it does a backup? If this is the case then I can see it requiring some serious capacity on the backup drive! I bought him a 250Gb external hard drive last Christmas, but I doubt this would last very long if it has multiple copies of the entire Aperture library!
