Over the years I have bought songs under different account IDs. They all show up and play when I am in iTunes or iPhone, but only newer ones will play over my Apple TV.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Daughter was given an i-tunes voucher and set up an account on i-tunes and then purchased songs using the voucher. the trouble is, we had a single account that we used for purchasing songs so that we could all download the purchased songs. Now she has synced her i-phone against her new account but i'd simply like to bring the new songs she purchased back into the main library and keep it that way.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have spent a whole week importing songs from my external hdd to Itunes (ordering, adding album art, deleting double songs etc.) Almost 230 GB on music! Since I have a 500 GB hdd, I decided to deselect 'copy files to Itunes media folder' under preferences. I have a backup on my external hdd and I didn't know for sure if I would get the songs double (one in Itunes library and one in Itunes music folder, so taking up more space. I assumed that I could do this, since I read in 'Itunes help' that I could also deselect this option if you have your files stored on an external hdd.
While I was doing that my external hdd was connected to my laptop all the time. Today I finally finish the job, deconnected the hdd and found out that Itunes can't find any of my songs back! Only when I connect the external hdd to my laptop I can play the music. Is there a way to solve this problem or do I need to do it all over again while making a copy from my files to Itunes media folder? Since Itunes couldn't find any of my songs, I assume that for examply a 100 mb album will take up 100 mb on my hdd on my laptop and not 200MB?
Then there's a second problem: I deleted one of the albums in Itunes and imported the album again, but this time I selected the checkbox 'copy to itunes mediafolder when adding to library'. But now my songs are showing up double! One has the extension mp3 and the other one 1.mp3 When I go to Itunes mediafolder they show up there twice, so they don't show up in two separate folders. If I need to import all the songs again and delete the doubles manually it will take me ages

find out what artist have most songs by on iTunes?
View 10 Replies View RelatediTunes keeps telling me it can't find around 150 songs and I have to manually point it to each folder - it offers to use location to find other missing tracks but that only works for songs in the same album folder, not other artists/albums. Is there something I can do to find all songs at once?

So over the past few months I have noticed this small bug/glitch in iTunes... and it is very annoying.
I cannot drag songs from playlists into different order. iTunes just doesn't let me drag at all.
I have to quit iTunes, then restart it. It will work for one time, but as soon as I got back to "Library" and then try to go back and edit a playlist, I have to exit iTunes.
Any fix for this?
Years ago I purchased a number of songs in my library using a corporate email address that is no longer valid and I do not remember the password. As I have no way to retrieve these songs and autyhorize them it because of the inactive account I cannot play the songs on my new computer without repurchasing them.

In past versions of iTunes, the account balance from gift cards was displayed next to your name near the top right hand corner. That is no longer there in iTunes 10 and I have searched though different panels looking for the balance, but am unable to find it. Anyone know where I can find the balance?

Perhasp I have a folder that is missing?

I am unable to play certain songs since itunes wants me to authorize the computer with an old email address I had when I first bought the songs. I don't remember that password and when I use my present Apple id and password it doesn't authorize the computer to play those songs. How do I get these songs authorized since there are a lot of them?

Couple days ago I deleted a playlist on my Itunes accidentally. Luckily I have all my music backed up on an External HD. I remade the playlist on Itunes, transferred the music from my Ext. HD to the playlist, connected my ipod to have it synced, then disoconnected my HD and Ipod after sync and when I search the playlist on my Ipod I only get 29 of the 142 songs synced. Can someone please tell me what could be going wrong?

I am unable to add any songs to my iTunes. I have iTunes 12.0.1.26 and am running Yosemite 10.10.1. My iTunes is sourced to my external hard drive.
I tried mp3, Apple lossless and WAV files. I also tried downloading one of my purchased songs directly from the store. I get an error message of - 50 when I do the store download or try to drop any music file into my 'Instantly Add' folder. I cleared my caches and rebooted (3 times). I'm officially at a loss.
I have updated my iPhone 5 to the 8.1.1 iOS, and am trying to clear space by removing songs from my phone. When I open my iTunes, it registers there are 243 songs on my phone, but when I open the music app on my phone there are 268 songs showing. So I can't delete the songs via my iTunes on my Macbook. Apple support first told me to turn off "Show All Music" under the Music tab in Settings, which I did. Then he told me to hold my finger over the song and "swipe left" to get the delete option. This works for any other song on my phone except for the ones that were iTunes purchases, including this just average U2 album that magically deposited itself as well. Do not know of any other way to remove songs from my phone. Possibly restoring the phone to original settings? I don't really want to do that.

My middle son is off to college this week (in Japan) and will be taking with him a new MacBook Air. Naturally, he wants to also take his music and apps that he has purchased over the years, which now reside on my iMac (the family's media hub) along with music and apps for all the other members of the family.
But I can't find any way to sort the music and apps by account, which means he'll have to go through the entire iTunes libray one song and one app at a time. That'll take way too much time.
Is there a way to easily identify the music and apps associated with a single iTunes account from among many accounts?
I also face this same prospect when the youngest child goes off to college in 3 years, so if I can figure this out for the middle child, it will save considerable time when the youngest gets her own Mac.
how do I find out which computers are authorized on my account. I see there are 5 but how do I see which ones they are?
View 1 Replies View RelatediTunes skips when it plays the songs in my libary. It even does this for downloaded songs from iTunes music store.
View 24 Replies View Relateditunes has decided to go all wierd on me and started playing some of my songs but not playing others. When i try to play one that will not play i get the apple logo on the top of the screen where the amount of time your into the song is normally shown and no matter how many times i press play nothing happens.
Also the songs that won't play all are coming from the same folder and when i delete them and try to add them to the library nothing happens and they aren't added. When i try to play the songs from that folder using a program other than itunes the songs play fine.
I suspect a software extension and to test this I tried going into my Administrator Account to see if the problem still occurred. However I find that iTunes refuses to open in my Admin Account. I get an error message instead saying "The folder "iTunes" is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder." iTunes is in my Applcations folder on mi iMac's hard drive that as far as I know isn't locked.
I have examined the Permissions. Only the last one (Everyone) was Read only. The other two were both Read/write. Changng the last to Read/write also makes no difference. I have run Disk Utility to repair permissions. No change, still this error message and iTunes refusing to open.
I don't know if this is connected to the crash I get in my User Account. Both the iPod Nano and Color appear on the desktop and both make iTunes boot as soon as they are plugged in. With both machines iTunes crashes imediately and generates a report to Apple. Both machines display "Do not disconnect" until I eject them via the desktop. I have done a hard reset of the Nano several times to no avail. I've not done this with the Color yet. The iPod Touch has been behaving itself. However I have just plugged it in and it now neither appears on the iMac desktop nor does it fire up iTunes anymore.
