MacBook Pro :: Won't Read SD Card But Will Read CF Card With The Same Card Reader?
Dec 26, 2010As the title says, I have a card reader that works great with a CF card, but the MBP won't recognize an SD card. This is a new problem for me. I also have an express card adapter for SD that won't read the card, either. I have tried 4 different SD cards, and these exact cards have worked for me in the recent past (within the past 2 months). They work fine in the camera. I also tried connecting the camera via usb, which was unsuccessful. I tried blowing air on the cards and the reader. I cannot get the cards to be read on my wife's macbook. This makes no sense to me, as it worked fine the last time I tried. I find it hard to believe that all cards are corrupt, or the cable is the problem because it reads the CF card.

Mar 29, 2009We have made tremendous progress on the "Make Your Own 4870" path. But we are still running into trouble with VGA. I think that we need to have a scan of back of an OEM 4870 to help. All that is important is that it be possible to read the circuitry numbers. And we don't even need the whole card, just the small section of the back that I have included here as an example. This does not require taking anything apart other than removing card from machine. (If you felt an urge to remove fan and do same area on front, I wouldn't be upset, but would be thrilled just for this piece).

May 2, 2012I just went through the process of buying an app as a gift to be delivered via email. Typed my personal message to the recipient, confirmed the delivery address. Got the review screen. Then when I clocked to purchase the app, I got a security screen asking me to select 3 security questions and an alternate email address. Got immediate emails from Apple noting the changes to my account. But I never got an email confirming the gift purchase. How do I tell if it went through? The item is not listed in my purchases, but maybe that's by design?  Did the security question dialog hijack the purchase process?Â
(Also checked my credit card website, and it doesn't look like there's a pending charge yet. But I'd hate to purchase this app twice.)

Mar 16, 2012I have created playlists in iTunes 10.6. I click the playlist once, but no arrow appears to the right of the playlist's name. I cannot give the playlist. I created the playlist from iTunes store, so that I know iTunes has the songs. Then I noticed Share... from the Store menu item. That allowed me to send the playlist as a gift.Â
Honestly, Apple, do some real user research! Too, hire some technical writers to update your help: typing in "gift" did not direct me to the Share item. Searchning help brings me only to this text: "To give a playlist, select it, click the arrow that appears to the right of the playlist’s name, click Give Playlist, and follow the onscreen instructions. Gift playlists can have up to 100 songs." Needless to say, that isn't how you give music these days in iTunes.

Jun 16, 2012My MacBook Pro won't read my 4GB SD card from my camera. I was able to transfer all of my images earlier this afternoon but now it plainly won't show up. I checked Finder, I checked Disk Utility, and nothing. The Nikon software doesn't recognize it either. It's not like I have a whole boatload of photos to transfer (I only have four pics to transfer). Earlier, I installed the software after I ejected the card, but did not put it back in afterwards. Could it have something to do w/ the software I just downloaded?
