How do I delete, once and for all, tv shows that I keep trying to delete from my iTunes library? They never finished downloading and I keep deleting them but, they keep coming back when I click "download all" or when I enter a password? I don't want to allow them all to download then delete as there are about 30 of them?

I purchased a TV show yesterday in HD but have only been successful in downloading the first episode. Whenever I click to download the proceeding episodes from the cloud, it downloads for a second and then stops. The only thing that I figured could be the issue is lack of space. So, I deleted some other tv shows off my Mac. However, I am still having the same issue.

I watched the first set of the episodes, but now the second set keep trying to auto download, CONSTANTLY, even though I try to delete them from everywhere I can. I have already watched them, I just want to get rid of the doubles! I now want to add my video media library to iTunes so that all my digital media will be in one place, and I can organize and search shows by genre, artist, etc. First, all my videos are .avi, so I figured that since iTunes accepts only .mp4 I have to convert ALL of them which will take SOO LONG. Any easy way of batch converting? Should I even store my videos and tv shows in iTunes, or do people do it differently? (I want to do something other than just putting them in folders)
But my main question is, because I store all these videos on an external drive, I simply want to link them to iTunes and keep them in their original paths, since they won't fit locally. I can accomplish this by simply un-checking the advanced preference option of copying the files to the default location, but that means I have to turn this off and then back on each time I want to import video. I understand this is not a HUGE deal but wanted to see if this was the proper/most efficient way of going about this.
My AppleTV keeps showing old podcasts which don't exist anymore in my iTunes library. Of course I can't play them because the file has since long been deleted. I don't see them anywhere in iTunes, so I can't delete them from my library.
I found the reason for this behaviour: those old podcasts are still present in my iTunes library xml file. I deleted this file and restarted iTunes. iTunes will create a brand new xml file from the original .itl file. However, the old non-existent podcasts are still present in the new xml file. So the error must be present in my .itl file.

Out of 8000 or so songs, 3000 remain in the library. There are some songs on the hard drive under 'Music' which is some of the missing songs but not sure if its all of them

Deleting it right from the playlist doesn't remove it from my library. I have to go hunt it down in the main "Music" folder which is a pain in the ass, especially with multiple tracks. I would then like to delete all the songs from my iTunes, and from my iPhone. *edit* figure'd out how to remove all the songs from my iphone.. just unchecked all songs and sync'd.. now I just need to backup itunes and delete everything from it, then reput what I want back into itunes and resync.. sweet
