OS X :: Finding App To Make Greeting Card?
Dec 5, 2005My sister is looking for a program to make greeting cards and possibly calenders. I told her I'd see if I could find something for her. She is a recent switcher and doesn't know where to find mac stuff. She has Photoshop Elements but that is a little too much for her. She's looking for something a little easier.

Mar 23, 2012I use an iMac and recently upgraded to Lion OS. Everything was working fine, including Mail.
But the Hard Disk developed some hardware defect and I was forced to replace the hard disk with a new one. The service center added the new harddisk with OS 10.6.8 and now when I connect the old hard disk using USB connection (which is running 10.7) I am unable to find the Mail and Mail downloads folder in the library folder...
Is it because my machine is running on 10.6.8 and the hard disk is having 10.7?

Feb 10, 2012I recently purchased a Mac Book Pro. I have had a PC for years. I've discovered that Apple doesn't allow flash player and I have membership in two greeting card websites. Now that I've already paid a yearly membership in both, I'm out of the money and I can't send cards.

Jan 7, 2009After my macbook hard drive kindly failed on me, I ordered a new Seagate Momentus 5400.5, 320gb hard drive. I popped that sucker in this afternoon and began to start up my macbook with the OS X disc 1. Everything was going smoothly, except that it can't find the hard drive. It is recognized under my disk utility, but when I click to partition it, select options, select GUID, click 'OK', I can neither Name it 'Macintosh HD' or do anything else.
I can't proceed with anything because when it asks me to select a HD, the HD does not show up. Again, everything works except that the hard drive is not found. I pulled the hard drive out. Made sure the screws were alright. Made sure everything was all snuggly, and yet it still won't work.

Mar 5, 2012I went to the library to locate mail so I could insert an HTML signature. Problem is, I can't find Mail anywhere. It is not in the library, not in Cache, etc. When I attempt to search for Mail in the finder, before I can select Library as the search location, the finder shuts and pops me into another application. Where is mail? I can use it. It is in my apps folder, etc., but I cannot find it other than in that location. Can't get in to add a signature, etc.

Nov 6, 2009A few years ago in high school trip to europe i made an imovie hd project. i am on a new mbp and i have a backup of my old mbp and when i transfer the file macintosh hd->user->movies->europe movie project it doesnt seem to bring the video with it (i cant even locate it!) i opened with imovie and the old imovie hd and the same thing, no video file! any ideas as to where the video files are located? im freakin out here lol

May 21, 2012I recently bought a Hp OfficeJet pro 8600 plus printer and have set it up fine on my desktop pc. When I went to install it on my MacBook it wont let me set it wirelessly because it states that The wireless network settings were successfully downloaded to your device. However, your Mac was unable to locate the device on the network.
Please make sure that:
- Your Mac is connected to a wired or wireless network that has access to your device.
- Your device is connected to the wireless network "home".
Click "Retry" to attempt to connect again using the current settings. Click "Go Back" to enter different settings. The weird part is that everything is set up fine as far as the printer it seems that the mac doesn't want to cooperate. I am running OS X Lion with the newest downloads and updated.

Nov 12, 2010So i finished my first ten-minute long short film, i'm really proud of it. I wanted to share the whole thing in 1080p HD and then import it into after effects for some finishing touches. I did sharing < media sharing < 1080p hd.
1. Where did my movie go? it doesn't show up in iMovie anymore, and I found a big file over 1GB which appears to be my movie (but no way is it in 1080p, and I filmed with a sony HDR xr520v). I cant put that back into iMovie nor after effects.
2. Can I import this file into after effects cs4 and then re-export it in an equal quality?
OS X :: Unable To Backup With Time Machine / Snow Leopard Cannot Locate Network Drive
Apr 20, 2010So I have a 15" MBP running Snow Leopard and have recently installed a Western Digital MyBook 1TB World Edition on the network to serve as my Time Machine backup drive. Most of the time, it works flawlessly and OSX / Time Machine does its thing and backs up.
Every once in a while, Time Machine says backup has been delayed because it cannot locate the network drive. This when I can easily access the network drive from other machines on the network, and also from my MBP in Finder. It's just Time Machine that somehow fails to find that drive. When I enter Time Machine preferences and look for the drive, it brings it up immediately and asks me for the username and pwd and viola ... it's up and running again.

Unfortunately the files which I had stored in the usb stick prior to this seem to have disappeared. How can I locate these files? The usb now doesnt mount on the desk top and is only accessible through disk utility.

Jul 26, 2010I have a 2010 13" MBP, and have just realised that I'm unable to read my Micro SD card when I pop it into a SD card adaptor and attempt to read via the inbuilt SD card slot. It works fine on my XP netbook though.
Has anyone encountered this problem? Is it normal? Is there any way around it?

Apr 25, 2010I have a new iMac with Snow Leopard and do not have the following problem with my MBP using Leopard nor have I been able to duplicate this problem on new iMacs at the Apple Store.
Normally on other computers, the Yahoo Mail email header is at the top of the screen, the view pane is at the bottom of the screen and when I double click the email header, the entire email fills the screen in a new tab.
On this new iMac, double clicking the header does nothing; the email stays split on the screen with the header at the top and view pane at the bottom and no new tab.
I've tried Safari, Firefox, and Chrome and the problem is unique to this iMac. Any suggestions? Is there a preference that I'm missing?
