We use NetSuite which is a cloud based SAS enterprise solution. We spend about 90% of our computing time using this web page. It stopped working with Safari today. I don't think it is an incompatibility with Safari 5.1.4 because the problem didn't start until 3 or 4 days after I installed Safari 5.1.4 plus it still works OK on my home computer that also uses Safari 5.1.4.
NetSuite uses a lot of SOAP and Java. I click on drop-down menus in NetSuite and they typically have words with the associated icon to the left of each word.Today it has the words, but the little file type icons are missing. I click any of the links in the pull-downs and get a NetSuite "page not found" web page.
The same thing happens on all drop-down lists in netSuite. They're all missing their little icons to the left of the words and the links won't work.I tried everything. I deactivated all Safari add-ons and extensions. I deleted Safari prefs. I reset Safari. I rebooted and zapped the p-ram in the mac. Nothing seems to fix the issue. I posted the issue in the NetSuite User's Group and it seems to be a problem specific to my computer.

I just upgraded my Mac to 10.9.3 and i have these weird tiny little dots appearing in my drop down menus and when I open an image in Previews. Actually, some images just look crazy in Previews with giant squares all over them. I have this same operating system on an older computer at work w/out this problem.

Just bought a new 27" screen iMac. The menu bar and drop down menu text is much to small for me to see without leaning close to the screen. how to customize the text to a larger size. This is an issue for any program I open.

Somehow I can't drag and drop files/programs/icons any more. Not on my desktop, not within my dock. When I click on an icon to drag, it will stick to my mouse pointer, but only as a ghost. When I try to release it, it won't drop to the designated area or folder. The icon just keeps sticking to my mouse pointer, where ever I take it. Only after using esc and clicking.

I have funny problem, well more of an annoyance than a problem. On my MBP, after maybe a day or two without rebooting (ie. just closing the lid), the mouse cursor drop shadow disappears and the cursor gets jaggy/aliased edges (imagine the cursor from Windows XP, but black). A reboot will bring it back.
The MacBook Pro is a stock late 2009 17" - 2.8Ghz, 4GB etc. with Mac OS X 10.6.3 (this annoyance has happened since 10.6.1). I have the graphics mode set to performance as 90% of the time I use the machine, I'm plugged in.
I've tried to see if there's a pattern to it, but it's seemingly random. Sometimes it's the same day as a reboot, sometimes I go a whole week without rebooting and still have the proper cursor. It's pretty weird. I originally thought it may have related to opening the lid while on battery power, however it's happened a couple of times when I've opened the lid while plugged.
Edit: Another interesting point.... if I plug an external display in, the cursor gets back its shadow, but then when I unplug the screen, it will return to the jaggy look (until a reboot).
My 4 year old macbook air has become nearly unmanageable when playing on-line bridge. The cursor flits all over the cinema screen tho is stable on the laptop lcd. Also, the wifi drops off intermittantly, and takes upto 2 minutes to refind. The software is original, but up-to-date.

My mouse pointer disappears when still, if I open a webpage or app store the page drops to the bottom and I cant get back to the top with the mouse. I have tried six different mice (blue tooth and wireless including mac magic mouse) , all the same. Also when the sound is on and the system starts up there is a low buzzing sound until I move the mouse or open something up. Should I just restart the whole os as this is only one week old and I am over it already!

View 7 Replies View RelatedIn short, we got a new Mac Mini on Friday. I hooked it up to the wireless keyboard/mouse from the Dell dimension 2400 we are replacing. It seemed okay at first but developed issues the first day. Intermittent mouse drop outs, and loss of internet being the worst symptoms. I am thinking of ditching the Mini and getting something else.

The very first sign of any problem would occur when I would be scrolling down a page and it would stop, then go, then stop, then go.
I ran Verify Disk In Disk Utility and it said that the disk was OK. Then I ran Repair Permissions. It found a couple of things, repaired them and then it said Permissions repaired. I ran Repair Permissions again and it came up clean.
So I restarted and every thing seemed to be OK. I opened Safari, went to one of my favorite sites and was looking through there for a couple of minutes, then suddenly some of the text in the Tool Bar pixelated, and then some of the text in the site that I was on did the same, and then all of the text pixelated. I clicked on and dropped down the menu to Shut Down and all of the text in the menu were pixelated.
I reinstalled Yosemite with no change to the problem. Then I did an erase and reinstall from Time Machine again to no avail. At this point I am thinking that it is a hardware problem, or am I overlooking something.

My new Magic Mouse appears as a wireless Mighty Mouse on my iMac 10.6.2. When I open the mouse Preferences Panel, I get the options for the Mighty Mouse, not the Magic Mouse. It worked fine on my hackintosh with 10.5.8 but not with 10.6.2, so it seems the culprit might be in 10.6.2? It seems that USB Overdrive is the culprit for some, but I don't have it.

I have an iMac late 2012. Since upgrading the OS to Yosemite, I have had random drops in my wifi. I have already tried 'forgetting the network' and Deleting the system config stuff. I still get this random drop. My computer is unreliable. Dropping during an online exam is bs because it screws everything up.
I have never experienced Wifi drops in my life and I am starting to get annoyed with this.
My keyboard and mouse is using bluetooth... Does that have something to do with it? Should I just install and use Windows instead?

thoughts? can it be used like a normal mouse? awkward?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI moved my room around yesterday, and originally my iMac was in the far corner of my small bedroom. After the rearrange, now its on the opposite side of the room, and since then the iMacs internet connection has been unstable. It'll drop, randomly slow down to a crawl etc. My MacBook is fine, and so is my PS3, its just my iMac thats causing havok, all because I moved it from one side of the room to the other. I can't be because I've simply moved the iMac from one side of the room to the other can it? My MacBook can pick up a strong signal from the bottom of the garden, so the iMac really has no excuse.

I was wondering if selling parts of the iMac, like the Magic mouse or the wireless keyboard would void the warranty?
how, no idea how it happened, but I got a weird voice that came on and drives me nuts by telling me each menu item the cursor passes over. I have searched thru the manual and help and can only find information about voice recognition. How do I turn off the voice?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen 10.5 was released they were quite transparent and the look matched the transparent menubar. It was a nice visual flow. Then 10.5.1 came out and they went to almost opaque (apparently they are still SLIGHTLY transparent but at something like 95% its more or less impossible to tell).
Some apps, (compressor comes to mind) still have these transparent menu drop-downs and I think its a very good look, especially with the transparent menubar (again, visual flow is nice).
Every time a menu pops up asking me to choose yes or no, the mouse automatically moves to the yes like it's ready for me to click. I'm pretty sure I set it to do this a while ago, but I forgot how to change it back. It's late, I'm frustrated, and this is bothering me. A few searches didn't get me anywhere. Anyone know what I'm talking about and/or how to change it back?
View 4 Replies View RelatedNormally hitting the 'Tab' key does the job but here, say I wanted to go to restart or cancel by using the kb. Does anyone know that?;
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am on OS Version 10.10.1 (14B25). Whenever I click on the green dot in the upper left corner of an open window, the window expands to take up the entire Desktop. Even more bothersome, the window expands to the top of the frame, covering up the Finder menus.
I need those menus. I have found by experimentation that waving the cursor around in the upper-left corner of the display can bring the Finder menus back into view. But that is only temporary. As soon as I move the cursor back to the content of the window, I lose the Finder menus again. The only way I can get the Finder menus to remain visible is to close the window that I am working in. Doing so defeats the whole purpose in clicking the green dot.
Is there some preference somewhere that I can use to turn off this annoying new feature of Yosemite?

I have a 2006 Mac Pro 1,1 with dual Xeon 2.66GHz. One of my favorite apps on my Macs is iStat Menus for which I purchased a family pack. I am running latest version 3. However, when I added it to my Mac Pro I am getting goofy CPU temp readings. At idle I am reading about 60C on one CPU and 55C on the other. But then if I fire up all the cores (Handbrake for example) then the reported CPU temps DROP to about 48C and 43C (notice same differential of 5C between CPUs). All the fan speeds stay the same so it is not extra cooling kicking in. Seems to be reading the wrong thing.
I know with Intel that the CPU just reports the distance to Tjmax and then the software reading that number takes the TjMax reading for that particular CPU model and figures out the corresponding Tj. It almost seems to be what is happening is that iStat is reading the "distance to TjMax" and reporting that without doing the math. That would account for the reading working backwards I suppose.
I have a .mov I want to burn to a dvd with no region code that will play in any player (im in the EU and want to send it to the US).
I can't work out a way to do this in iDVD without having to use one of their crappy "themes" which i really don't want to do.
iStat Menus for Snow Leopard?
View 24 Replies View RelatedJust a strange occurrence this evening: I just watched a DVD on superdrive: when it finished, I ejected it and glanced at my Finder menu bar. IStat Menus gave me a temp of 135 and rising (went as high as 140 degrees a few minutes after ejecting and shutting down DVD Player). But the fans aren't on at all--never came on, as far as I can tell--and the MBA feels cool to the touch. Now it's maybe 20 minutes later and iStat reads temps as still at 115 degrees. But my laptop feels totally cool to the touch. I restarted, hoping to reset iStat, but no change. Any idea as to what's going on?
View 3 Replies View Related was surprised to see iStat menus is now a paid app. So if I update, I'll have to buy it.
Its a nice app, but I'm not sure if its needed, even if its only 10 bucks.
Anyone else care to chime in on this?
Don't get me wrong, if I like an application, I'll buy it. I've purchased delta walker (compare utility) and will be upgrading my transmit to version 4.
Its just this type of eye candy - is it worth 10 bucks (that's the discounted price, it will go up)
I think I must be tho only person that liked the transparent menus we had in 10.5.1...
I cannot find anything to re enable them now, and it is a shame, because I thought they were pretty ^_^
But only some of them! File/Edit/View
Go/Tools/Bookmarks are still white.
All other apps are running normally.
This is on my MacMini still running 10.5.8
