I have just brought the 1.8GHz + SSD version. It's really fast and quiet, until the fan spinning like crazy.
What is the acceptable CPU temperature on the Air?
Mine got up 89 degree C (192.2 F) MAX for a while, when the heat-sink is at much lower temperature, like 60-ish. Can't remember what tasks it was doing. It's 54 right now just with the Websites running, and the heat-sink is at 43.
Is it normal? Or should I worry about the thermopaste on the machine?
I have a 1.24 Ghz MDD with 1 G of memory which is divided as two 256 mb and one 512 mb. I'm thinking of getting two 512 mb and removing one 256 so I can have three 512 mb and one 256 which will equal to 1.75 G. My question is if this machine will accept this configuration or will it have to be 1.5 G or 2 G? The reason I'm asking is because I saw this G4 specs in OWC website as having either 1 G, 1.5, or 2 G.

I have recently purchased a cricual m4 256 gb ssd for my MBP mid 09 15''.i have installed lion, on it is have reset the ram, enabled trim (also disabled trail an error), sms and so on apprently it is not working.Most of the time i experience beachballs and lags for 30 sec to 1 min. i find it very fustrating, so i unplugged the ssd and plugged it to my mac with a usb. it is now working fluent but not as fast as it could but with 36 mb/s in writing speed and read speed. compared to 10-15 mb/s before. i am aware that it should perform a lot faster. what is wrong? i know it is not the ssd.

i had some groups set up on my Mac Pro address book and they where syced with Icloud and my Iphone. just a few days ago i noticed that the contacts from A to J in each group are missing. Is anyone else having problems with iCloud mail at the moment? For the past few days it has been VERY slow to update, sometimes failing altogether. Yesterday, I deleted a number of emails, only to find them restored after a later update. I am beginning to think about no longer using iCloud mail and shifting my main email account to my gmail account - it works every time!

After updating to System 10.7.4, I can't access my iCloud email account on any of my devices (computer and iPhone 4S). The servers are not recognizing my email password, which is the same as my Apple ID password. I can log in to iCloud using Safari and access all of my other information (contacts, etc.), but not email. I tried going to Keychain Access and found that my old MobileMe password was correct (now my iCloud and Apple ID password), but the "application password" associated with my email account (which is now my iCloud email account) had been switched to a long string of nonsense. I tried changing that string to my actual apple ID password, but the system changed it back to the nonsense string.

Yesterday Apple released Safari 5.0.1 and Magic Trackpad and Multi-Touch Trackpad Update 1.0, but Software Update on my Mac makes me able to download only the first one (Safari 5.0.1) - which I did. Why can't it find the Multi-Touch Trackpad Update?

Sure, I can download it manually, BUT it makes me really annoyed if something on my Mac works not as good as it should.
I have problems since applying the latest security Update 2009-001 and Java 10.5 Update 3, I have 10.5.6 on the new unibody 2.4ghz and have completely lost the ability to connect to my wireless access point which is an apple airport extreme base station.
I can sometimes se the base station but cannot connect to it and sometimes cannot see it at all. I have three other apple computers at home all less then a year old running the same build of 10.5.6 but have not updated them and they all are fine.
This one was perfect untill I applied the update.
The machine I am having problems with is partitioned with windows 7 beta on it which has no problems connecting to the base station, which indicates that its not a hardware problem but more then likely the update which is causing the problem.
Is there a way to uninstall the last update or delete it? Any one with a similar problem or know how I can fix it, I have googled but cannot seem to find anyone with similar problems.
