ICloud On Mac :: Never Synced PHOTOS Between Two Macs?
Aug 23, 2014
I have an iCloud subscription.  A couple of thousand on a macBook. And i have an iMac. I am running the latest OSX on both. I have set BOTH devices to sync photos to iCloud. But it just doesn't do it. It syncs other material [notes, calendar etc] perfectly happily.Â
Info:
iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), also MacBook operating Mavericks
I have a Macbook Pro that I use for my home & office computer. I am thinking about purchasing an iMac for my office so i do not have to lug the laptop back and forth. My questions is: is there a way to keep the two computers synced? Same apps, music etc...
I have a Mini with Lion Server. My wife has a MacBook Pro as her main computer. I imported her user from the MacBook to the Mini, but am wondering how to keep everything synced on her User between both machines. As she works on her laptop won't her documents on the Mini become outdated quickly? It seems like there should be an easy solution to this but I haven't found it; I'm new to Mac though so I may be missing something obvious.
I currently subscribe to Office365 and use OneDrive to sync all my docs and files from my old Windows PC to my Mac (OSX Mavericks).
I have a tons of photos already on OneDrive and would like to so my PhotoSteam and also when I import photos or use iPhoto that it uses the OneDrive Photo folder/directory. Is this possible?
As a new OSX users I am not sure how to do this, in Windows I would have just changed the directory of the Picture library but cannot see a way to do this on OSX.
Info: MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
Every time I go into the settings for icloud and my email accounts the box for mail syncing is unchecked. So i check it again and as soon as i go out of that page and back in it is unchecked again. Why on earth is this happening?
I was trying to sync the recipe app Paprika between my Mac and iPhone, but before I did I accidentally hit the "sync" on my Mac … almost All of my folders and recipes disappeared! I cannot find them, are they lost?Â
My household has an iMac G5 that acts as a media hub and its getting slow. Instead of getting a new iMac to act as a media hub, I was considering buying a new Macbook and a 24" Cinema Display for so everyone with a Mac laptop in my household could have access to a big screen if they want it.
The issue is that the G5 iMac contains all of our media under separate user accounts. We stream this media all over the house and synch it with iPods, iPhones and an Apple TV. So is it possible to attach a large hard drive to the Airport Extreme and use it as a media server with multiple people accessing it from their laptops or will this multi-user situation turn into a user account nightmare? We all keep separate iPhoto and iTunes libraries so combining them into one is not really an option.Or would it be simpler to just use the laptops as adjunct machines and do all our file management (and Time Machine Backups) from a central iMac?
I have an iMac at home and a MBA all running Mac OSX Lion 10.7.3.Â
I use Mail/ iCloud and whilst all my email folders sync, the two inboxes do not and I am forever 'filing' emails into folders on both computers, with a lot of duplication.Â
Is there any way of having my combined inboxes (multiple accounts) all synced too?Â
I would like to keep my playlists in sync across my macs.Is there some new "iCoud" way to automatically sync up my playlists? For example, I have an iMac and a Mac Book Air. I can keep all of my songs in sync with the new iTunes "Purchased" feature, and that works perfect. The piece I do not understand how to do yet is:I have a playlist on my iMac called "Good Songs" Currently, I know how to export this from iTunes as a text file and copy the text file to my laptop and import it.But then when I make changes on my iMac, I need to redo the export / copy / import all over again. Is there an iCloud feature I can enable or leverage some how to make these changes propagate automatically?Â
What exactly happens if I checkmark "documents and data" in the iCloud preferences on both my Macs? On iOS my understanding is that developers can build support for iCloud right into their apps, and so, only those apps that are coded to support iCloud syncing will be able to do it. However on the Mac, documents are not stored in an app-centric manner (and I'm glad because I loathe the app-centric document storage aspect of iOS).
So, I'm not clear what happens if you choose to sync "documents and data" over iCloud. Currently I use Chronosync to sync my documents folders between my desktop and laptop. However, this is a fairly hands-on process, and while I still plan on using Chronosync between my computers for several purposes, I would be happy to have iCloud sync certain documents and data between my Macs.
For example, I'd like iCloud to sync my Stickies, Downloads folders, and certain folders of documents like scanned receipts and saved web archives, etc. However I am scared to check the "Documents and Data" checkbox because I don't know what the heck it does. Is it going to scan my computer and upload everything in my documents folder? Or what? I read Apple's iCloud set-up guide but it did not give me a clue regarding this, and I didn't see any links to an advanced manual.
Info: Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 2009, 8-core 2.2ghz, 12GB RAM, 10TB
I am trying to get icloud to sync my mail across 2 Macs and an ipad. All three collect mail OK.I can move mail from the inboxes to folders in ICLOUD on one mac and they appear in those folders on the other and the ipad. But they do not dissapear from the inboxes of the other two. This is from the other mac showing mailbox structure and files emails which should not be there.
I have a mini and 5 other devices on the same apple ID. All of my existing photos made it to the photo stream when I originally signed up for icloud. Now, when we upload new photos from our camera onto our mini, they won't go to the cloud. I can't find the icloud icon anywhere on my mini anymore.
Info:Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.6.8), I have a free agent terra byte HD
My mobileme account will be terminated on 30 Jun 2012.I want to know how to backup my gallery and photos to icloud. I know that there is photo steaming, however this is not what I want to achieve. I want to save all my galleries there again. It is due to this question, I have not yet buy the extra space from icloud.
I have a lot of pictures on my Mac, and I don't want to include them in photo stream. They are all in the "Pictures" folder, but I have only imported a few of them into iPhoto. WIll all my pictures be included or just those in iPhoto? I think it's just the imported ones but I want to be sure before I set up the storage & backup in iCloud.
I'm using iCloud and popped a couple of images I'd just processed into iPhoto on my iMac.Â
Went to my MBP so I could upload the images to my website - they appeared in iPhoto in very quick time (impressive) but I needed to locate them in "finder" so I could upload them but had the devil of a time finding them, and still haven't.Â
I used to use dropbox for this - maybe I'll go back. It was so easy!Â
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I have been trying to sent photos packaged as a 31.2 MB PDF file, using iCloud and it will not send it. It says connection error with server. Is this file to large?Â
