As you know, Boot Camp 3.0 allows the window partition to see Mac files and folders without additional software.
I am trying to set up Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center to use on my Xbox 360.
When I tell Windows Media Player to load files from a Mac folder, I can navigate to that folder no problem, but after going through the steps, it fails to load ANY media.
If you can stream the Mac as a media server on your PS3 just like how it does on Windows for Windows Media Player....

Digital movies play just fine on my camera, a NIkon Coolpix but once I import them to either quicktime or windows media player they do not play smoothly. Any ideas why or what I can do to correct this?

I recently switched to a macbook and I love it! I spend a lot of my time listening to music, but I frankly think, that itunes is a quite horrible piece of software. Is it possible to run Windows Media Player 11 in OSX? I find it far superior to itunes in every way, especially the interface. So is there some way to run WMP instead for playing my music?

I uninstall WMP, reinstall it and no luck. WMP crash right after i open the file , i made sure that when i put it in the bin WMP got deleted cause i was getting errors that a bunch of files were locked

To play wmv files I downloaded Windows Media Player for Mac. It came in a .bin file. Which I extracted using unarchiver it produces a .sitx file. Which I again tried extracting but it shows an error saying this file cannot be extracted with this program. I downloaded WMP from two three sources but got the same file so same issues. And I don't prefer flip4mac as everytime you try and play a video it starts importing which takes time.

I have shared out a folder on my IMAC called "TV Shows" with several folders underneath this. I did this under System Preferences > Sharing > File Sharing. I am trying to access this from my Windows 7 Media PC. Everyone just has read access because its just to watch TV Episodes. I have also enabled SMB Sharing for Windows. On my Windows 7 PC it connects however doesn't ask for a Username or Password? I thought the whole point of SMB was so that it would ask you for those details? For some reason when I connect I can go into some folders but not others? Is there any reason why I can only access some folders under "TV Shows" and not all the folders?

When I go into 'Computer' in Windows, I can see my Macintosh HD drive and most of its contents, some pics and other folders etc are all viewable and draggable into Windows. If I set the wireless network connection to NAT, the internet works, but my xbox 360 wont show up in the media streaming options in windows media player. However, if I change the network settings to bridged, I lose my internet connection (well.. sometimes it works.. 80% of the time it doesnt..) Connecting to bridged is the only way I can connect to my 360, and only some of the time where the internet will work. Is there a way to fix the problem with bridged or NAT so they both work together?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know or have the same problem where pressing the F7, F8, F9 keys (which are previous, stop/pause, and forward) doesn't work in iTunes unless iTunes is the "active" window? I know that in OS X that if i pressed those buttons, it would do it even if I was in another application, but in the Windows 7 version it won't do it if another application is "active." Also, the same applies to the Apple Remote.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHere's a new one for me. My 3 media keys don't work for any applications such as Windows Media Player, iTunes, Open Pandora. Everything else works though?!? I reinstalled the keyboard driver and there has been no change. It's like those keys are disabled. Pressing fn will let them use their typical F function, so they work, it's just being blocked by the BootCamp manager or something.
Something else - they keys are invisible to the OS. I can't use a 3rd party hotkey manager to just reassign them.
Just got a Sumvision Cyclone Media Player and connected to my mac book pro. It found the drive called as "New Volume". Open the folder and had different folders inside: Movies, Music, Pictures, System Volume Information. If I get into the folders as for example "Movies" files I cannot drag any files to the folders since a message comes for example:
The item "XXXXX.avi" could not be moved because "New Volume" cannot be modified. What should I do? Is that because I am using a Mac computer? And if so do I need to erase and reformat the drive or what? Desperate here.
I was wondering if it is possible to use VLC media player or video LAN to stream divx videos off the internet. I like to watch divx videos on stagevu but i dont like to use divxs player because it seems buggy. I have downloaded VLC before I had the divx player and couldnt figure out how to get it to play streamed videos. Is VLC capable of this or is it just for media on the hard drive or a disc.
