Windows On Mac :: Blue Tint In Games In BootCamp

Aug 26, 2010

I have googled a lot about this, and found some fixes for the blue tint in Windows, but not in games. I know, you need to import OSX color profile etc, but even though I did this, the blue tint comes back as soon as I start a game. I saw people asking the same after they found the fix, but nobody replied. I found like 3 threads on google where nobody could answer how to get rid of that.

Problem Description:
When installing bootcamp, the screen isn't configured and makes everything look washed out and blue-ish. After fixing that by importing the color profile from OSX, it comes back when starting games. For example, Team Fortress 2 has nothing of its colorful graphics, its grey and undersaturated with a blue tint. Call of Duty 4s desert levels are practically unplayable against other people because you can't distinguish people from rocks, concrete walls, sand or metal, because everything looks grey, cold, dull and blue.

How can I get the profile to stay selected or whatever is causing this? The normal desktop looks fine with the color profile, but as soon as you start games it seems to get reset to the blue hell. I am using a 15 inch Macbook Pro from 2010 with the i7 option, and all latest OSX updates, although I doubt that matters. (Also Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with latest updates).

Windows On Mac :: BootCamp - XP Has Blue Tint?

Nov 10, 2008

I'm running Tiger on a 2.5ghz MacBook Pro (purchased april '08) and everything works perfectly and the screen colors/ brightness is perfect. In Windows XP however (running via Boot Camp), the screen has an annoying bluish tint that I can not get rid of. It is especially visible in lighter colors that should be gray or off-white. In the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics card control panel there is no obvious way to fix this problem. And it is not a gamma or brightness problem- because even after adjusting those, the bluish tint remains. Perhaps this is caused by a lack of a control in XP and/or the graphics card for the moniter's color temperature on the LED back-lit screen? When running XP through VMware fusion however the screen colors are dead-on.

Windows On Mac :: Cannot Play Games Through Bootcamp

Sep 9, 2010

playing games through bootcamp. Especially with Call of Duty 4. It freezes up constantly in the menus and just has lots of problems. Some games wont run at all in bootcamp, but the odd thing is that all these problems don't ever occur when I open the games in Parallels. Granted frame rates are a lot lower of course, but the games function fine. also noticed when playing Modern Warfare 2 today with my friend, my macbook pro blows his HP out of the water when comparing the in-game Frame rates and graphics, but his menus and loading screens go sooo much faster.

Windows On Mac :: Installing For Games - Other Than Bootcamp

I've been trying on and off to get bootcamp working on my mbp but it has issues I can't fix so I'm giving up with bootcamp. Is it possible for me to install windows on another partition using a program such as parallels, then natively boot up. I say this because I assume running games inside parallels would be slow. (I've tried crossover games and it is buggy with steam for me)

Windows On Mac :: Can't Play Various Games In Bootcamp?

Jul 7, 2010

i bought a imac 27" quad core i5, and like in my previous imac 20" i created a partition to play my games in bootcamp...but this time i installed the W7 64bit ( used the trick command promt on instalation to del c:windowssystem32driversatikmdag.sys if im not mistaken, to get the screen to work and finnish the instalation ) did everything by the book, installed drivers from OS X dvd, then bootcamp 3.1.
But all my games ( pes 2010, resident evil 5 and OF dragon rising) dont work! the only one that works is company of heroes ( 2006? ) PES 2010 installs but when start .exe gave me a message ( doesn't work on 64bit OS only 32bit ) the other 2 don-t even let me install them appearing the same message of incompatibility...so...i installed W7 32bit ultimate...now the messages didnt show, instead, a black window ( look like DOS ) appears and disappears in a sec, in PES after instalation, when trying to run the game, on the other 2, on the attempt to install the games just like in the 64bit version. i rolled back to what i thought it would work, since i know there are some issues with W7 and imac, the XP SP3! with same results on W7 32bit...pops a window like DOS, for a milisec, and disappears.

Say you use Bootcamp...can you play Games for Windows and PC games on your mac?

For Games for Windows, will you be able to get achievements on them?

Such as Fallout 3.

Can I run that on my macbook Black, the old one, bought just before aluminium macbook was released.

2.4 Ghz Intel Core Duo
2GB RAM
Intel GMA X3100 (Video card)

I dont think you can upgrade video card on Mac, so would I need to get a new Mac with the Nvidia cards to play Fallout 3, or will my mac suffice?

I will be using OSX for all non gaming stuff but if the gaming under Windows 7 is not that good I may just buy a Macbook for my OSX stuff and buy a seperate PC just for gaming.

Mac Pro :: Utilizing Multiple Processors For Games Under Windows Bootcamp

Oct 6, 2010

I've just established that my copy of Windows 7 home premium only uses one of my two duel core processors on my 1,1 mac pro. I need to upgrade to Windows 7 professional for it to use the other processor. I only use windows for games and would like to know if my system is/will become CPU bound unless I upgrade to Windows 7 professional. I've run a test running Portal and coming out and looking at the processor history in Resource Monitor and both my cores on the single processor it sees have been maxed out while running the game. I'm currently using one of the new Apple 5770 graphics cards but am thinking about buying another one to run under cross fire. However, if I do this it looks like I will need more CPU power to make use of it so I will have to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional. My concern is will the games use the 2 processors if I upgrade. I would hate to spend 130 on Windows 7 professional upgrade only to find that games don't use the extra processor anyway.

Yet, when I launch the new Warhammer: Dawn of War II game, I am at a loss. I can only run the gme on the very lowest settings at the lowest resolution in order to run without lag. Also, for some reason my bootcamp partition says I have only 1.72 gb of RAM. I have a feeling the partition is just not recognizing the power I have.

Windows On Mac :: Can I Use Steering Wheel Controllers For Racing Games In XP Through Bootcamp

Oct 29, 2009

I' running a 24" 2.9Ghz imac with Leopard, and Windows XP Pro SP2 on Bootcamp specifically for gaming.

I want to play racing games like NASCARS and V8 Supercars, but I want to use a steering wheel instead of the keyboard, racing's just not the same without a steering wheel and pedals.

The reason I'm having doubts is my M-Audio interface works fine through OS-X but not through XP because there is no support from the drivers through bootcamp, so I don't wanna spend money on something that could quite possibly not work.

IMac :: Blue Tint On It - Wakes Up Every Time

I have a 27" iMac purchased last January. Every time the computer wakes up, the display activates with normal coloring but after a second "shifts" into a different color profile with a blue'ish tint.

All software updates have been applied. I've reformatted the computer twice since the initial purchase. Problem persists.

I'm well aware of the yellow tinge problem with 27' iMacs, but based on my research of past posts the blue color shift has only been a problem with Macbooks.

Power Mac :: G5 Video Suddenly Has A Blue Tint

May 29, 2012

There was an electrical storm last night, and it may have fried some things for me, even though everything was on a surge protector. My G5 suddenly has no video. It booted, chimed, and had a white light on the front. I could hear emails coming in, etc. But NO video. I rebooted multiple times, zapped the PRam, and what I'd get is about a half a second of video (grey screen and Apple logo) before the monitor would pop back to black. I swapped in a different monitor I had and rebooted. I then had a normal reboot, but everything on my monitor is tinted blue.I took the old monitor and tried it out hooked up to my iMac and it's definitely dead. Have you ever heard of a video card failing, and everything turns blue?

MacBook Pro :: Blue Screen Tint With OS X Yosemite 10.10.1

Dec 1, 2014

Who is having this issue, have you resolved it, and how did you do it:  Coinciding with Yosemite 10.10.1. my entire screen has begun to take on a blue tint.  This was not an issue with 10.10.0.  This is a MacBook Pro 6,2 with 4GB system RAM.  Graphics is with built-in Intel HD Graphics (and standard 288MB VRAM), and the standard NVidia GeForce GT330M graphics in PCI (and 256MB VRAM).

The blue cast appears when using Microsoft Outlook 2011 (back to normal when it quits), Adobe Photoshop CS6 (sometimes yes, sometimes no), and intermittently when running Firefox or Safari (where the blue cast seems to coincide with invoking plug-ins).   All of these applications are up to date.

Attempts to resolve this include:

1) Downloaded and installed the latest software updates for Outlook, Photoshop, Firefox and Safari.  Made no difference.

2) System Preferences -> Displays -> Color -> Calibrate.  I initially thought that the Color Sync profile had been corrupted, but the color was so 'off' that my attempt to manually recalibrate the screen could not go far enough.  So I abandoned this.

3) System Preferences -> Energy Saver -> Automatic Graphics Switching.  Checking Automatic Graphics Switching works, but un-checking it and the blue cast comes back immediately.

4) Running Disk Utilities -> Repair Permissions.  Didn't work.

5) Cleared all caches using Onyx: Worked for 10 minutes, then blue came back

6) Reset PRAM: Worked for two days, now the blue is back.

MacBook Pro :: Won't Boot (question Mark Folder) After Blue Screen On Windows Bootcamp

Feb 9, 2012

So, I was on windows, using bootcamp, and I was creating partitions on a pen drive with it, and then it asks me that it needs to restart to apply changes.

But then, while restarting, a blue screen occurred (**** windows).... And I forced the shutdown pressing the power key.

Then, I simply turned the MacBook on, trying to boot on my snow leopard and I got a flashing folder with a question mark on it. Now I can't access any partitions on it, if I press option key on startup I get a blank window!

I tried to reset PRAM, repair the MacOs partition using the snow leopard DVD (it shows up fine, along with windows partition and EFI partition), and I still don't get my startup disk showing up...
