My iCal seems to be stuck in a certain week. Something happened several weeks ago where whenever I open iCal, the current date shows up, but then quickly jumps backwards to a previous date several weeks ago. I have tried resetting sync services, prefs, deleting everything (events and to-dos) from the week it keeps reverting to, but no luck.

How can iCal show Week Numbers?
Earlier tonight I opened iCal, only to find that none of my calendars were there. it was completely empty. However, when I changed the view from "Week" to "Month" all of my events were listed (in the proper color) on the appropriate day, but I still had no list of calendars on the left. Subsequent changes between "Day" "Week" and "Month" view continued to display the events properly, but nothing showed up in the calendar menu on the left.
I repaired permissions same thing happened.I trashed com.apple.ical pref (forgot the exact filename)�same behavior. I use .mac to sync between computers, and I use Missing Sync to sync to a Palm T|X.
When iCal is closed (meaning I've quit the app), the date on the iCal dock icon is "Feb 21". When I open iCal, it changes to Feb 23. When I quit again, it goes back to Feb 21. I'm pretty sure that iCal is supposed to show the correct date regardless of whether it's opened or not. Can anyone confirm this for me? Isn't the stock icon date for iCal 'July 17'?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI'm on a new 21inch iMac (3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB 1067b MHz DDR3, running 10.6.2) and I'm having problems in iCal (version 4.0.1) when I'm adding new events. When I add the event all goes fine until I come to put the time in. It seems to stick to 24hours display (08.00) but if I try to do likewise eg: 16.00 it changes first to 01.00 then 06.00.
Then lets just say I have a long meeting that runs from 09.00 to 12.00, the 09.00 time goes in fine but then it changes the 12.00 to 10.00. I've had a good look in preferences but I can't see anything I'm missing like a maximum length of meeting being set at 2hrs. I've tried having the day run from 1am in the morning to midnight, using 12 or 24hrs displayed at one time, and can't seem to crack it.
Something happened about 10 days ago and I'm repeatedl getting the same iCal alerts which were dismissed when they first occured. I am also having all the programs that were open when whatever glitch occured reopen every time I start up again including a repeat Excel autosave. Does anyone know where the system keeps the restart information as I suspect that it needs to be cleared out.

In the apple store they told me that i had do something to my mac to keep it clean and free from bad stuff at least once a week. This was not a program they had installed but it was already on the mac. I have a mac book pro 13'.

On any desktop I'm using (mission control) when I place my mouse cursor in the middle of my desktop, a window appears with random days of the week.The following screen shots did not capture the cursor, but it was just below and to the right of the cursors position on the desktop.

How do I get the Calendar to repeat an event just one day a week? It always wants to repeat across all days and all weeks, not just the one day each week I want.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since SL was installed, Time Machine restores pop3 emails into my inbox. So, about twice a week I get about 300 emails restored, emails that I do NOT want.They have been filed away, replied to. What makes it difficult is that I have to trawl through what was restored and what was not read/replied to/filed away.
As a test, I turned off Time Machine for 2 weeks, problem solved. Obviously, I don't want TM turned off.
I then deleted my pop3 email accounts and re-created them with different names. Problem re-appeared. Apple do not have a solution, I tried.
I have 4 pop3 accounts and 2 .me accounts. The .me accounts are not affected, only the pop3 ones.
How common is this? I prefer darker backgrounds and this may be an issue.I'm over the yellow and the buzzing, but this too? Don't take me the wrong way - I love my Macs but I can't say I'm crazy about this..See attachment. Ignore the image noise, the big spot that bothers me is on the top to the right.
View 8 Replies View RelatedNow normally I wouldn't expect it in an under 4 year old machine, but the normal battery is working as expected. However, when I'm not plugged into power, my WiFi doesn't always reconnect, and when it does, the internet doesn't seem to connect either 90% of the time. When I'm plugged into power, no problem. 3 other machines on the same wireless network have no issues with it, though my cable company says they are detecting intermittent signal loss, which I can't reproduce on any other machine. The other reason I believe it is the PRAM battery and not the main battery, is during one reboot, the date reset itself to year 2000. Once I managed to reconnect the internet, I was able to set the date & time to the time server.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI just used the ical calibration tool to sync ical up with my google calendar and it works like a charm. I love how i can just click on dates in Mail and add them to my iCal which then pushes i to google calendar for my wife to see...that way i can sneak tennis or a round of golf in and she can't say she didn't know
At any rate-i would like to know if there's a way to pull her cal stuff to my ical. I can see all of her stuff on my google calendar, but i dont have the "right" to add her account to ical. I assume i could just have her enter in her login info - but i would like to know if that's the best way.
Trying to get them to talk to each other - I've input the Google account into iCal preferences, and it shows up fine. But I seem only able to sync one way - if I add an appointment in Google Calendar - then sync - it shows up fine in iCal. But if I add an event in iCal and then sync - it doesn't show up on the Google Calandar.
Loaded 10.6 last night and everything appeared to go well. However, when I opened iCal, ALL of my appointments, birthdays, events, etc. had disappeared. Unfortunately I had not backed up iCal before loading SL.
I have good SuperDuper backups of the system and I have Time Machine backups of everything, but I don't see a way to extract the appointment data from those.
I try not to have iCal running because I've got the Dateline app that stays on my desktop. Mousing over that will give me appts and such as I need to have them.
I've found, that opening iCal and messing with the input screen for a new event is kind of cumbersome, and I'm wondering if folks have found a good way to create new iCal events w minimal interaction with iCal itself.
Today 2.5 offers this as a feature, but it's $25. Macworld also had a tip, but running that Automator action opens up iCal in the background.
Are there any other solutions out there?
I cant get my mobile me ical to update ical on my MBP. It says in the ical settings that its connected to the mobile me account. What can I do to fix this?

My shift key also appears to be stuck so holding the Option key when booting up to choose a start up disk isn't an option (it doesn't work). I do not currently have access to an external keyboard. I do have the startup disk. I'm wondering if I can use the startup disk to reset the systems startup disk? Are there other options?

Isn't there a daemon that runs in the background even the iCal isn't actively running the GUI?
I have a problem where I can't get rid of unnecessary events. The problem is with events which are repeated every period of time. When, I don't need them anymore, they refuse to disappear. I click delete, and get even the reminder: Deleting all future events. And when I confirm, and click OK, nothing happened. What should I do to erased these events definitely.
