I'm looking for a single chat client that supports:
- Google Chat
- Skype
- AIM
- MSN
- Facebook chat (is this even possible?)
Is there anything out there that supports this or some of these? I know of Adium but that works badly at the best of times) ...
All right, I'm wondering what the best IM client for OSX is at the moment? Preferably with video chat and an iPhone version.
I'm currently trying trillian on OSX, seeing if its any good. And I've had a look at adium but trillian looks better.
My fiancee got her first mac, a mbp, today and we are struggling with finding a chat client that she can use on the mac and that i can use on my pc that will allow for video calls/webcams between us. Can anyone recommend me a good client that we can use?

I sort of need a program like OoVoO but I do not want to pay for a multicam chat. I do not want a website one either. I want one that is downloadable for both MAC AND PC and it needs to support multi webcam at one time. Do not say Skype because i do not like skype. Can somebody find m e one?

My iMac C2Duo 20" gets error messages when attempting a Video Chat in 10.5.8 with iChat 4.0.8. If I boot up from FW drive using 10.4.11 everything works.
When I initiate a Video Chat, after a while I get a pop up "There was a communication error during your chat. (recipient) cancelled the connection."
When I ACCEPT a Video Chat invite, I get a pop up "There was a communication error during your chat. Did not receive a response from (initiator)."
I should mention that there is also a networking problem in 10.5.8 that disappears if I boot up from the FW drive with 10.4.11. The Internet Sharing will randomly stop working for no apparent reason. I'll be connected to interenet using iPhone 3GS or old iBook G4 running 10.5.8 and suddenly I'm "no longer connected to the internet". Sometimes stopping and restarting Internet Sharing solves it for a while, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it will work for days, other times for minutes or quit overnight.
I was about to download osx lion 10.7.3 update but i get two download types, client and client combo?

I've been using Plex for a while now (try it out, best media center app in my opinion) and everything is great. I use it with my Apple Remote, but it's been missing for 3 days, and I don't want to spend the 20 bucks or so. Is there any, aaany way of using a remote other than apples (e.g. my TV or DVD remote) with Mac?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac is in it's near-finished form (Beta 4) but it seems none of the last 4 Betas, or the Messenger Beta app seems to be able to run under PowerPC architecture, which sucks considering Microsoft bragged on allot about Office 2008 being a Universal app but now it seems like they want to abandon it completely. This is a terrible decision since I use a PowerPC mac and so does my school (They went crazy on iMacs and PowerMacs in early 2006). And I know you'd say to me why not just get a Mac mini, but I just can't afford one and my school would have to rework their whole server aswell as splash out. I love the new interface and icon designs for office but it seems it's time to switch to iWork. It doesn't seem right of MS to abandon PowerPC support in Messenger just for the sake of video chat, Skype, Yahoo!, AIM and others all still support this yet they are Universal and don't have any problems doing so.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a macbook pro that I just got recently so I'm still kind of new to it all, now unfortunately my brother thought it would be funny to change the password but now he can't remember what he changed it to >:/. So I can still use my computer but there are certain things that I'm not able to do without a password. I had read that I could reboot the whole system to its factory settings which I'm okay with because I saved all my stuff to an external hard drive. Now the problem is that I no longer have the os x cd that came along with it but my friend who owns an imac has his, so I was wondering if I could use that one. That is, are all mac os x cds universal to mac computers? I had also read about manually rebooting the system but there were too many people who claimed it had damaged their computers instead so I want to avoid that. What should I don now?

Is it safe to assume the XT will still work with the newer laptops due to the size/connector being standard?

All of a sudden, holding down the Command key for more than a second or two (e.g., in preparation for using Command+W) brings up a Universal Access dialogue screen which fills the monitor. I have not used Universal Access, I checked the settings, and I see nothing seems to be "On".

The issue I have is that in System Preferences, "Universal Access" has a bigger font size than any other window under S. Preferences. Nothing is affected, everything works well, but it just bothers me, is there any way to fix this?

I'm a new safari user. in firefox, for example when I've searched "bacon" on one site, if I search it again on other website, bacon would show in the dropdown when I type "b." but in safari that's not the case. "bacon" only shows up on the website that I've searched it on. the same with forms. I have to type my e-mail on every website. it's tiring.

When I try to purchase the Lion Server from the App Store it displays a message that OS X Lion is also required uand I have to purchase both even when I am logged in and next to the Server item the client version confirms that I have already purchased it with a "download" button - the app has been downloaded but cannot install it as it is waiting for the app store to download the server components... and what if I just want to use it as a client only? Any suggestions besides the obvious $80 purchase.
