While doing this they completely messed up my airport settings so now I cannot connect to my home network. Is there anyway I can reset the network settings to default like they way they were before? I am running Snow Leopard.

Mar 2, 2012Over the years my finder windows have been set to different colors, font sizes and so on. When I make a change I select the make default box in the show view options, but they never default except for that one finder window. I have erased com.apple.finder.plist and just for fun the com.apple.sidebarlists.plist but can not get the finder to go to a true default. Is there another plist that I am missing?

Apr 8, 2012I was trying to modify my monitor settings and hit the detect monitors button by mistake thinking it may help a sizing issue. Now after start up white screen with apple in the middle the monitor goes blank. Is there a way to restart while holding down keys to reverse this since I can't see anything on display?

Mar 16, 2012Every time I hit the print button on my Mac (I have an HP PSC 1210 all-in-one printer) the document prints at 10%. I know, I have to go into page set up and when i do that, the scale is always at 10% so I have to change the scale to 100%.why is it not automatically set at 100% anymore? And how can I make the print scale default to 100% so I don't have to go into page set up everytime I want to print?

May 12, 2010I have a 2008 Unibody Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.3. I want to reset the default ambient brightness, because it stopped changing by itself after I manually changed the brightness with the keyboard. I made sure that ambient light changing was enabled in the System Preferences. From past experience, I think that deleting the preferences.plist file will do the trick, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

Oct 10, 2010Im setting out to my hometown for 5 days and all of my stuff are on my iMac. I dont know, how to copy all settings ,etc from iMac straight to the Macbook Pro. As far as I think, the only way is first to reset the Macbook Pro. Take a Time Machine backup from the iMac. And then restore the copy to the Macbook Pro. Is that the only way left for me? And how do we factory reset the macbook pro, so everything gets deleted and becomes new and ready for a new Tim Machine restore.

I've noticed I have way to much junk to go through and try to delete it all and when I try to delete something it does the poof thing it's supposed to, but later I notice it has not been deleted. I've tried restarting my computer, and completely turning it off for 24 hours then seeing it its gone, but it never deletes.

Jul 7, 2010A little while later I notice the MBP felt like it was running when I touched it. It was vibrating from the HD running. I didn't think much of this.
I just now tried to turn my MBP on and it wouldn't. I decide to plug it in. When it turned on it did so for about 2 seconds, turned off, then turned back on. It then took a long time to boot up. When it finally did boot, it told me that the clock was all out of whack and I noticed tons of my settings had been reverted to default. I then check the battery to see that it is charging but the level is at 1%! When I shut the MBP lid earlier to put it to sleep the battery was at least 50%.
