Safari :: Built-in Pdf Reader Plugin Does Not Work In 5.1.7?
Jun 26, 2012
The WEBdav built-in PDF reader in 5.1.7 shows a black page, and looking at the list of plugins, it has no file to go to:WebKit built-in PDF— from file “”.
Info:
MacBook Pro (15-inch Glossy), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
I need to test PDF in browser and i installed Adobe Reader, since i have to doble check correct view in reader as in mac os preview, i also have some selection problem with previewafter i installed Adobe Reader some time when i open PDF in Safari speens my CPU up to 100%?can't find i need to keep reader on my mac, but view in safari / browser with previewin reader under preference i found internet and "display PDF in browser using:" and i flag near it but is gray out / disabled even with safari closed
I recently downloaded the latest version of Flash Player and the plugin seems to keep crashing on all the major browsers including Safari. I am using a Mac Pro Generation 3.1 with OSX Lion. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin and it still keeps crashing.
I recently upgraded my HD and did a clean install of Snow Leopard. Before the upgrade, I could view PDFs in both Safari and Firefox in-browser with Adobe Reader. I prefer this to Preview because of the toolbar options. After the upgrade, even though I have Adobe Acrobat Pro and Adobe Reader installed, I can not view PDFs in-browser with it. Safari defaults to Preview as a reader and Firefox defaults to download the PDF (I thought it would install the plugin when I installed the Reader. I can not find an independent reader plugin for firefox online). I am running Safari 4.0.4, Firefox 3.5.5, Adobe Reader 9.2.0, and Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1.3.
I was looking for a Safari Reader-like add-on for Firefox and finally stumbled on Firefox Reader, which seems to have more customizations, and options. Has anyone else tried it? What are your impressions?
I have audio but my mic wont work can anyone tell me if I buy a usb mic would it fix the problem or still wont work because of the driver? or if I buy a usb headset? I want to use ventrilo but my built in mic wont work on windows xp.
It works in the widget mode, that is, when I press F3, the dictionary shows on the screen as usual, but it doesn't show up when I click on the dictionary icon under the applications menu.
I have built-in home speakers and I wanted to know if you have to buy airport express to use airplay. Do you have to have airplay wireless speakers to play music from airplay?
I bought a used iMac from a seller on ebay. Everything works perfect, iSight camera is excellent. I tried recording a video and it worked, when I played it back it had no sound at all. I already tried going to system preferences and changing it to built-in microphone. I also reset the PRAM. I don't know what else to do!!
It has the version 10.6.8 installed, I don't know if that has anything to do with the mic not working.
I have a problem with safari. Safari quits unexpectly and appear this message : the application safari quit unexpectedly. the problem may have been caused by the flash player-10.4-10.5 plug-in. When i am trying to open again appear this message(SIMBL error. failed to load the safarisniffer plugin. error(1000) creating CGSWindow) and the safari's screen is white Safari's Version 5.0.6 I have the Leopard and 10.5.8 versionProcessor Name:Intel Core 2 DuoProcessor Speed:2.4 GHzMemory:4 GB
I'm a recent PC to iMac convert and have hooked up my iMac to my TV receiver (DVI to HDMI connector and a Toslink cable to the audio). The issue is as soon as I plug in the audio connector the iMac speakers stop working. I'd like to leave the connector plugged in and still be able to use the iMac speakers. Of course when I play a movie on the TV I'd just mute the iMac speakers.
My safari has been crashing constantly for the past two days. When the screen pops up, its says...Safari has crashed while using the .createyourown.so plugin. I looked in the MacintoshHD->library->internet plugins and did not see it in there.
Wanted to remove questionable cookies from Safari. I cannot remove an item called 38] -- says it's a Plug-ins. What is this and how to I remove it if it's bad?
I have an iMac 24 running OS 10.6.8 and I can no longer load .pdf files from internet sites. I can load them when they are on my local HDD. I deleted Adobe Reader a couple times and re-installed version 10.1 and then ver 9. All I get when I try to load a .pdf from an internet site using Safari 5.1.5 or Firefox version 11.0 is a blank grey screen.
I hope Im posting in the right section. I used google to find a answer but my work was unsuccessful. Is there a plug in for safari to use the url bar as a google search bar? The reason why I can't use google chrome is mobilme. I might sync my bookmarks over the air and I found no way to do this with chrome. I could simply change back to safari but I ll lose the nice search-bar feature.
I have a question about Safari plugins. I was running under Tiger and got the SplashID desktop program with Safari plugin. I decided to upgrade my OS to Leopard so I can use a newly purchased Magic Mouse. Launched Safari and the SplashID plugin would not load. I replaced Safari, its preferences and other files and the plugin will not load. It worked fine in Tiger. I happened to have another internal drive loaded with Leopard from a while back and it's fully updated. I booted from it and installed SplashID and the plugin. Works perfectly! So, why will the Safari plugin not load on my primary drive that was upgraded from Tiger to Leopard versus the same Leopard on my other drive that was a clean install?
it keeps saying i need the flash plugin and no matter how many times i try to view it it wont work,it happens for several other fash things as well, can you view this website on safari? im using a 15in MBP
I have read 10 - 20 topics about this problem and have found NO solution. First problem: Quicktime Plugin.plugin was missing.Solution: Using Pacifist I extracted the Quicktime Plugin.plugin and installed it to hd/library/internet plug-insResult: Still not working
Quicktime version: 10.0
Safari version: 5.1.2
I am very frustrated about this problem, their seems to be no solution and I have no idea what to do,
Just in the past 2 days, Safari will randomly crash with an error:
" Safari quit unexpectedly while using the .GameTurboBooster.so plug-in
I followed Googled advice to delete the plug-in by: Launching Safari; Selecting "Installed Plug-in." I did not see the plug-in in the error message. Then I checked /Library/Internet Plug-Ins. Again, the errored plug- in was not listed. So, I ran a software update. Safari still crashed.I checked under Finder for all combinations of this plug-in.on how to delete this phantom plug
I've tried for hours to find this plugin on the computer somewhere, but I cannot find it. it doesn't exist, or at least appear, in this path as noted in the error report.
Im doing this Target coupon thing and it keeps saying "you need to download Java" or something like that. And i have java, the newest version, updated all 3 times apple fought againt that trojan, and it's still not working! Java is enabled and working. Why is this happening?
I just upgraded my Safari to the latest version, 5.1.7 and had to install a new version of ClicktoFlash. This plugin installed correctly and now flash is blocked. However, when I go into Safari's preferences, there are NO extensions of any kind. As a result, I have no way to control ClicktoFlash.
Why is my extension list empty in Safari's preferences?
You can see in this link the screen for a different user. My screen where the extensions are here is totally blank. Nothing but white.

Using Safari on Snow Leopard 10.6.8, I am suddenly unable to view pdfs - they automatically download and then open in Preview, when previously they would open in a Safari window. I do not have the adobe pdf plugin, having previously removed this months ago. How I can get pdfs to open within a Safari window again?Just to reiterate - the Adobe pdf plugin is not present in either of the internet plug-in folders.
