Feb 23, 2010I'm going to miss the Canada-Russia Olympic Hockey game tomorrow, and I was hoping to find some way of recording the streaming video onto my computer to watch when i got home. I've managed to get the "Screen Recording" function working properly (how cool is that??) but it doesn't seem to be picking up any audio. Is there any way to do that? I tried running a simultaneous audio recording, but it doesn't recognize the audio coming in with the video as an audio feed. I'm using Quicktime X on a Dec. 2007 macbook running Snow Leopard. Is there a better way to record ths game from the site streaming the video?

Jul 1, 2012First time using Quicktime. When I go to file to look for New Movie Recording, it's greyed out saying I need Quicktime Pro. And even if I try to buy Quicktime pro (which I don't want) it tells me I can't load it because Quicktime is built into OSx.

Jun 22, 2012I love the options Quicktime offers me in screen recording. Before I went over to the "Mac-Side" I played around with different Windows-based screen recording software but couldnt find any that offered seamless recording. Quicktime gives me just that. My problem, however, is this. Whenever I try to record a movie or video clip with screen recording, all I can see of the video is a bunch of white and grey blocks. Is there an option I need to click or a specific resolution I need to record in so I can clip parts of videos?

Feb 2, 2012I have had this problem quite a while now:When I open an .avi file it automatically opens using QuickTime. I'd like that because it's the best player for Apple.The problem is however that I can only hear the sound, there's no image/video.I use 10.7.2. (now updating to 10.7.3), but it already did this before I had OSX Lion installed.If I search for new updates it doesn't come up with an update for QuickTime.Any other player works (although VLC's the only one I tried so far).

Jul 24, 2009Allow me to explain exactly what I am trying to do: For those who don't know, there is a trend on YouTube where people post vids of themselves playing video games. These are (usually) called "Let's Plays" and I have recently gotten sucked into it. I'm currently trying to record a "Let's Play" of a PSP game. There is a way to output a PSP display to your PC using a homebrew app called RemoteJoyLite. Sadly the app is Windows only and it doesn't look like it will get ported anytime soon (I've looked into doing a port myself as the source code is out there, but it uses DX calls throughout and not sure how to convert them to OpenGL calls). I have recently gotten it to work in a VM (running Win7 x86) though.....................

Jun 30, 2014My built-in external mic doesn't record any audio when recording at all with the webcam. I've seen that this problem happens a lot in iMovie and Photo Booth, but my problem is a little unique, in that it doesn't record audio when recording with any program, not just Photo Booth and iMovie. I've tried QuickTime and even YouTube's webcam capture option, to no avail.Â
However, the most puzzling aspect of this is that I know for a fact that the built in external mic is functional, because I can make video calls from Skype without any problems.
