A friend of mine is having trouble playing flash videos on his 1.33 GHz PowerBook G4 (256MB of RAM). He has version 7 of flash player and is unable to upgrade to a newer version.
View 2 RepliesI can't seem to play any flash videos from any sites, I have tried uninstalling adobe flash player using the uninstall tool, and have reinstalled the latest flash update, but the problem remains.
The issue occurs in both Firefox and Safari.

Headset bluetooth
Safari/Firefox
When the headset is connected to the macbook air the flash videos stop playing
As soon as I unpair the headset and play through regular speaker no problem
I tried check the MIDI Setup but no avail
How can I copy or download a flash player video on the internet??

Anybody have any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

I have upgraded from a OX 2.8 to 3.9. I now have to use two browsers to use the internet. Safari to have access to my yahoo mail account, and fire fox 2.020 to load information on my business website.
I have not been able to use shockwave flash or flash player on the up load. When I was using OSX 2.8 I could add pictures to my business website and etc., I had no problem viewing the slide show I had on my website, other than the system was a little slow. I have an ibook G3 128 +512 ram, total. 900 mhz, 12. inches and white case. The systems requirements indicate that I need to upgrade to tiger OSX 4.0
I know there are some issues using Fire Fox with OSX 3.9. When ever I tried to access my yahoo mail from Fire fox, the system would crash.
Other than getting a new laptop, any suggestions? I tried to down load Shock wave from the old apps web site called Camino. I get an error message that the plug in cannot be loaded sussfully I have tried load flash Player 7.09, but get a message that it can not load. Could this be because of not enough space on the drive. Maybe I am not loading it correctly. Shouldn't I be able to click it to install it in the right place without having to try the different files.
I found this forum through a google search, and wanted to put the word out. It seems choppy, laggy or otherwise unplayable youtube videos and other streams using Adobe Flash 9 or 10 on OS X 10.3, 10.4 and 10.5 is a very common headache with no clear resolution other than, 'Your CPU is too slow".
It seems I may have found a suitable fix to allow flash videos (as poorly as adobe flash is coded for Linux and OS X platforms) to finally play on my old, but very much alive 12" PowerBook G4. I'm not talking HD videos in DVD glass pond-like quality, but I'm talking 1fps to an estimated 10-15fps with mp3 quality audio that doesn't stutter.
My specs as tested and functioning:
System: 1Ghz PowerPC G4 12" aluminum
Version: OS X 10.5.8 (originally came with 10.3.9)
Video: GeForce FX Go5200 32MB
Memory: 768MB DDR (upgraded from stock)
HDD: 160GB Western Digital (upgraded from stock)
ALL I had to do (not perfect, but very very noticeable improvement!) was right-click the video while it was playing, and choose the 'settings' menu for Adobe Flash player. From there, I simply unchecked the "Use Hardware Acceleration" on the Display tab, and bump the "Local Storage" tab slider bar up to 10MB.
If anyone else is or was experiencing this problem, please try this quick and easy work-around out and share your experiences. If we can get a few to confirm, I'd be happy to seed it on the google interwebs so others can find the information easily.
I successfully installed Adobe flash player. Latest version. How do I set this as my default player application?
The websites I use just keep saying to install the flash player.

I've recently upgraded to Lion and have found that Quicktime movies and embedded Flash movies won't work. With the embedded flash all I get is a black box, and with quicktime movies, such as the ones on the Apple website, I get nothing - the irony of not being able to watch movies on the Apple site with my Apple iMac gives me a little chuckle. Anyways ....... I've been reading thread after thread and trying lots of different things but nothing works. I've got this feeling inside that says it's something simple but just can't seem to find it.

This started happening when i upgraded my hard drive to a 500 GB WD Scorpio Blue. I used copy cloner to clone my drive.Its very depressing to not be able to watch youtube video on a 1200+ dollar machine.Is there any solution or maybe some optimization i can do to the drive and stop the problem?

I cannot utilize my Flash Player anymore - you all know what a pain that is. I now keep getting notices that I have an "unsupported operating system." I have a Mac OS X 10.4.11 Power PC G5. Adobe, as you all know, no longer supports the system. I have tried everything to get my Flash Player back-up and running, with no progress. I did a search for this, but couldn't find any recent posts with this strange issue. For me, some flash videos will load and others will not. Youtube works, for example, but other video site often give me a black screen with the spinning white "loading" message, but the video never loads. One thing worth noting: I've noticed youtube videos do NOT work when it tries to load an ad beforehand. However, if I refresh the page, the video loads, because I guess it assumes I've seen the ad once already, and therefore doesn't need to load it up again? I've tried repairing disk permissions, emptying the cache, deleting all cookies, and uninstalling and reinstalling flash. What might be causing this odd problem?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo Ive been using macs for years, Ive also been watching flash videos on my macs for years, and up until about 4 months ago they very rarely crashed on me. It seems that recently something has changed, I dont know if its flash, or safari, or something else but my flash videos (especially in hulu) crash very often. In fact it seems that more often than not they crash now. Im not really upset about it because Hulu does not crash and I just switched my youtube settings to stream everything with HTML5 which seems to work...
But im wondering why this is happening, and why now? It (flash) worked so well for years, and on older machines like my old eMac... And now when apple is so visibly anti-flash my mbp is experiencing these crashes all the time... keep in mind my windows 7 machine is not having these same videos crashing... so whats the deal? Is apple messing with stuff in their latest builds of safari and or Snow Leopard to make flash less stable so users choose to break away from it? Or is this just a random bizarre problem that only I am experiencing? What are you guys seeing?
After weeks of trying to download Flash player to Safari, I removed the program using AppZapper and downloaded a new Safari which behaved beautifully. What puzzles me is that when I opened this new Safari, it contained all my favorites and Bookmark bar bookmarks. Is there a ghost in the system or did AppZapper miss something?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had my macbook pro 10.6.5 for over 2 years and have never had this problem. But this morning I tried to use my webcam with flash player online and it wouldn't work. I have spent about 2 hours reinstalling browsers, flash player and repairing permissions in disk utility but still no video.
The iSight does work in Photobooth and iMovie but for some reason when I select it in the Adobe Flash Player Settings nothing happens. The green light doesn't even go on.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I can try next?
I am studying abroad in France this semester so do not have my OS installation disks with me. I do have a time machine backup though
how can i use it for what purpose?

When I went to watch a video online, it said that FlashPlayer wasn't installed, so I installed the latest version on the adobe website, but it still says that there's a missing plug-in. Flash player was working fine on my air, and all my software is up to date.
