Nov 11, 2007my brother has an old ibook with tons of songs and things.
He also got a new SR Macbook with Leopard. He zeroed the drive and clean installed Leopard.
How can he now go about transferring all of his files from the ibook to the Macbook?

Jan 11, 2008how do I transfer all of my data from my ibook to my new macbook pro? I just bought a western digital 250 gb hard drive and I already just backed up all of my ibook stuff on the external hard drive.
So i assume once my new laptop comes in, I just plug in the external hard drive to the macbook pro and transfer it. Is it really that simple or am I missing something? Will all of my pictures and music go directly into iphoto and itunes or will I have to mannually do that? That would be a real pain if I had to manually do it.

Sep 11, 2009I just got a new 15" Macbook Pro to replace my old iBook G4 and want to transfer information to the new one. The Migration Assistant says I have a few options and I am deciding between these two:
1. Transfer info from another Mac
2. Transfer info from a Time Machine backup
Which would offer the most flexibility so I don't transfer too much? I'd like to start fresh but need my photos, internet files, etc. My last time machine backup was yesterday so it's pretty up to date, but I'm worried it will transfer too much crap since it backs up the whole drive.

Feb 6, 2010I have and old iBook 14" G4 that will not boot. I'm trying to transfer files and apps to a MBP. I've pulled the HD and have it connected to my MBP using an external HD adapter. I tried using Migration Assistant to move the data but the only choice I have is to move the profile and not the rest of the data. Does anyone have a suggestion for a workaround?

PowerPC :: IBook Display Stopped Working / Boot IBook Via Target Disk Mode?
Aug 13, 2010I have a G3 iBook and just the other day the display stopped working. There were no signs of the display going bad, it's just went. Am I able to boot the iBook via Target Disk Mode on my PowerBook and run the iBook Hardware Test CD on it? Also, can I reboot my PowerBook and choose the iBook as the startup volume?
I know how to do Target Disk Mode but the latter I'm not sure about.
