Apr 26, 2012

It is frequent that the computer delay to an input takes several seconds. I find this in both my computers a mac mini and a macbook pro with LION, particularly with the wireless touch-pad.

Hardware :: Using Wireless BT Alu Keyboard And 10 Key Touch?

Jan 17, 2008

Does anyone know if there's a way to get "10 key touch" out of a BT Alu Apple keyboard? Sort of like on Laptops you can hold function and the right side of your keyboard becomes numbers?

I tried this and it does not work, it would be nice to have this functionality.

MacBook :: Wireless Keyboard Slow / Disconnects When CPU High?

Jan 19, 2010

1x Macbook 2.4Ghz, 4Gig RAM. December 08 model.

1x 24" monitor connected via DVI connector

1x USB mouse

1x mac wireless keyboard (was used on iMac 21.5" new 2010 model)

Latest version of Snow Leopard, patched to the latest on everything. Software update says that everything is up to date.

I've unregistered the keyboard with the iMac and associated it with the Macbook. I'm typing this message with the wireless keyboard no problems.

This is where the problem comes in, when I start up for example MacTheRipper, or Handbrake. Essentially any tool that kicks the CPU into overdrive the keyboard starts acting strangely.

Typing will go to a crawl, it takes longer for the letters to appear, as if in slow motion. It will popup the keyboard disconnect and reconnect image every once in a while and if I leave the keyboard for a while it will disconnect from bluetooth completely, when I then try to reconnect by tapping a key it doesn't connect for sometime. Even if I hold the key down for several seconds.

Once the program has completed processing and the CPU drops back down to nothing, the keyboard works just fine again.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Keyboard Key Repeat Very Slow After Immigration

Apr 20, 2012

when I got my macbook with Lion, I changed the keyrepeat to a bit higher speed, because I think the default is a bit to slow.

Then I changed my Harddrive and immigrated my user profile, except the User Data folders...

Then, I changed had to change my UID to make my old Userdata available again, and I guess, something may be went wrong here...

Wenn I change the keyrepeat speed in the keyboard preferences, there is no effect at all. It stays at the same speed, even if I turn of the keyrepeat.

Feb 9, 2008

I have a 16GB iPod Touch that connects to other networks just fine, but it won't connect to mine. I've tried restarting the router and the ipod, and nothing seems to work.

Would it have something to do with my network being password protected? I enter the password on the ipod and it all works just fine, and it connects, except I can't actually use the network to do anything. I just get the error message "not connected to wireless network"

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Computer Is Very Slow After Lion

Mar 8, 2012

I have an Intel MacPro dual core with 8gb of ram and over 300mb available in disk, I just finished installing Lion and suddenly the computer started running very slow. When I finished the installation the computer was running pretty well and I really don't know why is running slow like this. I checked the system and everything looks fine, I mean, plenty of ram memory, over 4gb available, plenty of space in my hd and resources seams like quite a bit of usage. Is this due to spotlight doing indexing?mI was wondering if this is the probable cause of this drop of speed.

Applications :: With Every Computer Reboot ITunes Forgets IPod Touch

May 10, 2010

I just bought a new MacBook Pro and used Migration Assistant to move my old MacBook files to the new machine. Ever since the file migration, my brand new iPod Touch is having a lot of problems connecting to iTunes. Here's the deal: When connected by USB to the new MBP, the iPod charges fine, but is not recognized by iTunes (does not show up at all). After mucking around a bit (unplugging/plugging in, deleting iTunes plists, and repairing disk permissions) I decided to reinstall iTunes. I followed Apple's directions to completely remove iTunes and after reinstalling iTunes the iPod was detected and all was working great again...until I shut down and restarted my computer and the iPod was no longer recognized.

I proceeded to uninstall/reinstall iTunes again. It worked!...until I restarted my computer and iTunes would not recognize the iPod again. Interestingly, each time that I followed Apple's directions to completely remove iTunes, I could not find iTunesHelper running in either Activity Monitor or present in the start-up items of System Preferences as the Apple KB suggested it should be. I should also mention that the new iPod Touch has no problems being detected by iTunes on my old MacBook (the source hard drive for the file migration). This is baffling to say the least. I'm getting ready to forget Migration Assistant, nuke my new MBP's user account and start from scratch.

Hardware :: Apple Wireless Keyboard Vs. Apple Wireless Pro Keyboard?

Aug 19, 2010

I was just wondering what all of your thoughts were regarding these two keyboards. I know I can't get the Wireless Pro new anymore, however I can get it used for $20 from someone I know.

The new aluminum one however, I can get for about $40 used or just buy a new one for $70. I'm looking to buy a used one so it's pretty much the Wireless Pro for $20 vs the Wireless Aluminum for $40.

This will be going towards a set-up with my MBP which will be on an mstand, with an external monitor. I've already gotten the Magic Mouse so I'm trying to find a nice Bluetooth keyboard to compliment it.

MacBook Pro :: Use As Wireless Router - Error "creating Computer - To - Computer Network"

Apr 26, 2008

I have a MacBookPro that I use in my room connected through ethernet. I am at university and they have only allow one machine to connect to their wi-fi that is available across campus, through mac address filtering. I also have an iPhone which I would love to use wi-fi on, at least while I am in my room lounging around and such. Anyway, the point being, can I use my MBP (connected through LAN) to act as a router so that my iPhone can connect to it? Essentially create a wireless network, so iPhone would find it and I could go online on it via wi-fi?

I tried going on Airport and clicking on "Create a network" (w/o a password), but I get an error saying "There was an error creating our Computer-to-Computer network." It doesn't say much else -- is there a better way of doing this?

OS X :: How To Fix Slow Mac Wireless Internet

Sep 22, 2007

For some time now, I have noticed that my Mac's internet is running super slow. I am saying slower than what I see on my PeeCee (Used for gaming such as CSS and Half-Life)! So, I set out on a Google journey to find that a lot of people have been having the same problem with they Airport. It seems that in some Apple updates, the Airports are having issues. So, I tried to fix it and I came up with this wonderful guide. My internet now loads Facebook in 3 sec instead of the 30 sec it was before and I can watch my good old YouTube videos in a flash.

First, Open your "System Preferences";
Next, go to your "Network" settings;
From there, make sure Airport is highlighted and click "Configure";
Click the "TCP/IP" tab;
Type 4.2.2.1 into the blank DNS Servers box, hit return and type 4.2.2.2 then click the "Apply Now" button like so;

Your internet may restart, but it will come back on right after you hit Apply! And your internet should now return to speeds like it used to have. I am running 10.4.10 and I am proud to say my Internet is fast as hell.
