Charger is in and not charging. No light and at top its not charging.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been told by my local apple store that I might have a bad charging receptical, the port where the charger connects to the computer, so my question would be, does anybody know how much this might cost me.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Macbook hasn't been able to be charged for a while now. Basically if you take the battery out while the computer is running and its plugged in, it will shut off but in a few seconds it lets me power it on without the battery in it. So normally I just put the battery back in and leave it plugged in so the battery keeps its charge. It's been at 37% for a few weeks and will not charge up, it just looses power if disconnected from the power cord.
So when I go to system profiler it says,

Recently I have had a problem where my Macbook Unibody (Late 2009 i think) has stopped charging properly. My laptop has recently been updated to 10.6.8.
Firstly the charger seems normal i have had a few problems with it, replaced one and bought a supsicious looking replacement although i think this isnt the problem. The charger icon shows that it switches bewtween very (and i mean ludicrously, estimates roughly 20hrs for a full charge) slow charging and not charging whatsoever.

All the time the charger for my 2011 Macbook Pro has worked perfectly fine, but suddenly today, this morning, it stoppet working.
I tried to unplug it, and plug it back in, but there's no LED light on the charger, and the battery information at the top-right corner of my computer says "Not charging".
When I look closely, I can see a very dim green light, but you can barely see it.
The computer itself registers that the charger is connected, by increasing the brightness a bit, but no charging. I already tried the SMC restore thing

I accidentally left it on while I was doing some chores. When I came back it was dead (no battery). So I plugged in the charger and it immediately turned bright green when its supposed to be orange first, right? MacBook says (Not Charging) but power source: power adapter, green light is on, on the Magsafe. It's running by the power source because the battery is at 0%. I've had the charger plugged in for less than/about an hour and the 0% still hasn't changed. (Not Charging) is still there too. I bought my Macbook last August 2009, so it's not even a year old.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have two ac charger cords for my PB - the one it came with and a backup. My battery is about three months old and seems to be very healthy. The problem is that the cord arbitrarily stops charging (thought it was the cord, used the backup - same thing happens). The light on the cord where it plugs in to the computer goes off and I must unplug it from the power source and replug for it to start charging again, which it always does. I thought it was the outlet on the surge protector, so I switched outlets. No improvement. I thought then that it might be the surge protector itself, so I plugged it directly into another outlet, to no avail.

My MacBook Pro (the newer silver models 2011) often stops charging, I have to unplug the charging pin and connect it again. It has turned it self off quite a few times on sudden power failure, mostly because it went under power while I assumed it was still charging. After that it also looses time and date settings.

It was working fine for about a week, but starting on monday its been occasionally saying "not charging" but today it hasn't said charging once. I checked all the connections and tried the charger from my old mbp, but still nothing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know of cases that will allow AAA batteries to be the correct size to fit in and be charged in the Apple Battery Charger? I'm thinking something along a case that just extends the metal contacts so it can be charged and then taken out to be used after charging is done. Didn't have any luck doing google searches.

Someone tripped over the wire of the MagSafe charger, and it came away from the macbook, but split the L-Shaped part in half, and left the magnetic end stuck inside the charging port, and the other part exposing the gold pins. Is there any way I can remove the magnetic part myself? Or should Apple be able to do it for me?

I bought an used macbook pro early 2011 (i5 2.3) and its not charging. With the battery in it the green light doesnt turn on (doesnt charge at all). If I open the macbook and remove the battery the green light turns on and I can turn on the macbook.I have already bought a new battery and its not charging.Could it be the magsafe board? I am asking because the light goes on without battery so I thought that the magsafe board maybe is working.

About a month ago, the battery on my Macbook (the black one) started to get worse and worse, to the point where it would work if plugged into the charger, but would automatically turn off if disconnected. After much research, I bought a replaceable battery (not through Apple, but not through a sketchy website either) in hopes it would bring my laptop to some life.
The new battery is now doing to same thing as before. Working if plugged in, automatically turning off if disconnected, and always shows that it is at 0% charge. Is there anything else I can do? I know I'm due for a new laptop, but I'd really like to keep this one around for just a few more months!

I benched tested the new GTX 285 Mac Edition and the 8800 GT Mac Edition using X-Plane.
I used the same version (9.22 rc1) for both OS X 10.5.7 and Boot Camp WinXP.
I flew in North Dakota in order to eliminate as many objects and scenery as possible thereby making X-Plane as efficient as possible.
The flight was from Grand Forks (KGFK) to Crookston (KCKN). The length of the flight is 23.59 nautical miles and took 7 1/2 minutes.
I used a King Air B200 with a ground speed of 240 knots.
The renderings (1600 x 1200, 8xAA) and weather was exactly the same in both OS X and WinXP.
I flew three times for each video card and each operating system for a total of 12 flights. I averaged out the fps.
The 8800 GT Mac Edition is 2.3 times faster running under Boot Camp (WinXP) than the same 8800 GT running under Mac OS X 10.5.7.
Running under the same OS (Mac OS X 10.5.7), the GTX 285 Mac Edition is 2.7 times faster than the 8800 GT Mac Edition.
Running under the same OS (Boot Camp WinXP), the GTX 285 Mac Edition is 1.6 times faster than the 8800 GT Mac Edition.
My conclusion is the NVIDIA cards run much faster under Windows than they do with Mac OS X.

My charger for my 2007 Macbook works as an AC adapter, but will not charge my battery. My girlfriend has a new Macbook pro and I want to know if I can use her charger to charge my battery. I know they output different wattages, but I'm not sure how that will affect it. I have heard rumors that new Pro chargers will fry the batteries of the older Macbooks but I don't know if there is any truth to that.

My Macbook pro is not charging. If I move the cord (specially at the Macbook charging port) it charges. But again if the cord is slightly disturbed then it doesn't charge. The problem got worse as my Mac randomly shuts down (especially when I remove the mag at the Macbook charging port). I dono what to do. Apple care (Genius) is far from my place. There is no visible physical damage on my mag charger. Could anyone suggest what I should do? I checked the battery status in system profiler and it says NORMAL. The details are as follows:

Is it better to keep the charger in after a completely charged or pull out the charger. Basically I'm wondering if the power is pulled from the UPS after the battery is completely charged or is it still constantly charging the battery.

The Apple one looks tempting as it comes with 6 batteries and 29€ isn't too much, plus, as usual, it looks brilliant. I looked at some 3rd party chargers as well ranging from 20€ to 40€. None of them was stunning or special by any means. Cheaper ones usually came with two or four batteries and some came without batteries. I don't really need it for else than Magic Mouse, occasionally for something else too.
