Feb 13, 2012I have a macpro 1.1, with mac os x lion server 10.7.3. Everything works great. I created a virtualHost in my server app called myVirtualHost.mydomain.com and manualy enabled +Indexes on that virtualHost. When I access the myVirtualHost.mydomain.com gives me a nice list with all the content of the sites folder.my problem is that the list is very poor files/folders have no icons, I want little icons for the different types of content in site files/folders, just like in snow leo server.

Mar 1, 2009 i was customizing my desktop icons for music, games, and downloads.basically (for my music) its the itunes icon with a folder background, so the itunes logo fits perfectly in the middle.

Jun 16, 2009yesterday I wasn't able to click on my desktop icon in finder so I thought its just something silly. I turned off the computer and went to work. When I came back, I turned it back on, to realize that all icons are gone except my HDD, TM HDD and Windows HDD. Everything else is gone.
I entered the time machine and all back ups are gone too except today's and yesterday's. On yesterday's back up I do have the desktop folders and icon untouched but not on todays.
I tried permission, PRM reset, Onyx maintenance and cleaning but nothing is working. When I put a file name in the finder to find it it doesn't find it.

May 19, 2010Starting two days ago, after about 20 minutes of use on my mac, some of the icons on my desktop will suddenly have distorted pixels, as well as all of the open windows will have a black box surrounding it. I am almost positive that this has nothing to do with my video hardware going bad, rather something corrupted in the operating system. This has happened sometime after I had installed the Adobe CS5 photoshop trial. I have recently uninstalled it, but this problem still persists. As soon as I log out, or restart the computer, everything is back to normal. When the 15-20 minute mark comes, all of a sudden everything starts getting distorted. I am also running Mac OS X 10.6.3 currently.
In the image you can see that the bottom dock is corrupted looking as well but the icons stay in tact. This is very odd.

Nov 22, 2009About This Mac: Mac OS X Version 10.2.8, Memory 896 MB and Processor: 400 MHz PowerPC G4
MUST FIX: I CANNOT MOVE any icons or folders whatsoever (except to the Trash)! I checked the log too, but I have no idea what to look for there. This happened right about 1-2 days ago (11/20-22/2009).
BONUS FIX: As for iTunes, well it got bugged (clicked and didn't activated), so I deleted it and I don't know how to reinstall iTunes. This happened some years back, so I almost forgot about it.

Dec 23, 2010I am using OSX Snow Leopard. It's really great, but the folders and items within them are a total mess. When I copy or move anything to a folder, all the other icons move and icons even appear on top of one and other. Please is there any way to stop this - is there an app or something that will make the folders as tidy looking as they are on Windows? And please leave out all the Mac/Windows fanboy stuff - I have no problems with either OS.

Jun 1, 2012got a new 27 inch mac and icons will not appear on destop for example icon of a flash drive i put in, its on the left of the finder window but not on desktop as all my past mac have. Jun 9, 2012I have just signed up for iCloud but as i have a massive collection of tunes i have had to create a new iTunes library.Â
I would like to have 2 icons on my dock, 1 for my icloud library and 1 for my original library. I know i press alt when clicking on the iTunes icon but i would prefer 2 icons if possible.Â
I thought my adding the 2 "itunes library.itl" to my dock would work but which ever one i click on it always opens the same one, also they wont go to the left hand of the dock only the right by the bin.Â

Sep 29, 2008i am a tad stumped by this issue i'm having right now with my new imac. i noticed one day that none of my desktop aliases show any longer. in fact if i go to the desktop folder through finder my files and such show in there however none of my aliases nor those files show on the actual desktop. another thing i've noticed is that whenever i now try to drag and drop anything to the desktop whether it be a URL from safari or an alias i made in finder the dragged item simply just drags itself back to where i pulled it from.

Feb 27, 2012Ever since I've been using Lion (came pre-installed on my MacBook Air), I've noticed that the top icons in stacks do not update unless the Dock is restarted (with a "killall Dock" from the Terminal, or by logging out/restarting, etc). This happens for absolutely any folder that is added to the Dock as a stack. When a new file is added to the folder, the stack simply shows a generic white file icon on top. Once the Dock is restarted, the stack will show the proper preview as it should.Â
So far I've tried deleting and re-creating stacks, repairing permissions from Disk Utility, reseting ACLs on the home folder, and even deleting the caches and .plist files for the Dock, Quick Look, and Finder. Nothing has made a difference.Â
