OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Updating Epson Stylus C88?
Mar 15, 2012
Whenever there is a software driver update via Apple for my Epson printer, I always update it. But, is it normal for one to delete and readd the printer to use the new driver? I notice my system says it's the old driver until I delete and readd..

Printing from any program, Two-Sided Printing on the print prompt screen is grayed out. There's no reason for this, as my desktop Windows does double-sided all the time. I've found a lot of discussions in the Leopard forum about this problem, but none of them used my system or my printer and I couldn't find similar solutions. I'm running 10.6.8., trying to print from Chrome specifically, wirelessly connected to my printer.Â
Since I updated my Imac to snowleopard, there is no more printing on the good old epson stylusphoto1200 incjetprinter. even after downloading abaout 1 gigabyte (or 2) of Epson-drivers (from the apple-site) nothing works (" you need to update the software of your printer".. , but everything is updated on softweáre-update..)

I have an Epson Stylus CX3810 all in one. I can't figure out how to get it to scan. There is no scan button and when I open Image Capture it tells me there's nothing connected.
I am on OS 10.3.9. My Epson Stylus CX4600 will not print a Word document from this computer. It will prints a document from my older laptop, which has OS 9. And it will make copies when it is plugged into the OS 10.3.9. It will even print a test pattern when the utilities function is open. But it will not print an image or a Word doc or an Appleworks doc that is stored on the OS 10.3.9.
I have the above printer connected to my iMac and it has been working flawlessly for months. I have one issue though. When the printer is running low on ink, the maintenance light blinks, indicating low levels. But, it doesnt tell what ink cartridge is low, and since i dot want to go all out and change them all, i need to know how to view levels. On my Mac, it only says information not available for supply levels, and as far as I know, there is no way to check on the printer itself. Does anybody know how to view the ink levels, either on the printer or my iMac?
I have a Epson Stylus C45 printer USB and It is not fully compatible with Mac OS X 4.4 specially ref. printing preferences, so I have searched over the internet and found a driver. I am able to choose only Standard, for example. Is there any other driver better than CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.0-rc1?
My Epson stylus Photo 890 has a fault. Both red and green lights continue to flash when the printer is switched on. The printer was working fine and then after starting a new batch of printing the above fault occured and now I cannot get the printer to work
I purchased an Epson Stylus NX530 printer with wireless capability. I have a MacBook Pro running OSX v10.7. My printer is installed and works as expected when connected via USB cord but printer shows up offline when USB is disconnected. I connected my printer to my wireless network through my router (entering name of connection and passcode) and enabled the sharing capabiliy in System Preferences. So my setup is that I connected my MacBook to my router and my printer to the router. Is there anything else I am missing? Would connecting both the computer and printer to the wireless router be all I shoud need to do to be able to print wirelessly? Is my wirelss router considered my "network?" If my printer has a wireless internet connection, should I be able to "view" it anywhere on my MacBook other than printer settings when it is not connected via USB (I had to initially connect my computer via USB to the printer during setup).Â
I was given Epson Stylus NX420 3 in 1 printer with my MacBook Pro and would like to set it up but when I insert the disc it comes out. How do I go about downloading the disc to set up the printer?.
I have and old and useful printer -Epson Stylus Color 440- and just bougth a cable for connecting it to USB port. Add a new print on its Print and Scan Preference Panel and it was recognized inmediatly, but I was told there was not any driver to that printer. Â
Tried to set "Epson Stylus Color Series" on its driver but when I went to print, printer seemed to work but does not eject any ink. It seemed as if I were ran out of ink; its car moved over the places occupied by the photo and sounded as normal printing, but not a drop of ink. I checked on an older windows pc, and ink is full, printed normally. I also looked for its drivers on Epson pages, but it seems there are only available for previos Mac OSs, not for X.Â
A son told me that in his Snow Leopard MacBook White there's a dirver called "Epson Stylus Color 440 gutenprint" on his Print and Scan Driver Menu; haven't tried to print from his MacBook yet, and as I searched, those are open drivers.Â
I wonder if I can download and install that "Epson Stylus Color 440 gutenprint" from the web, of if there's a way to copy it from my son's Macbook, when he comes and check.
i am currently using snow leopard, and I am waiting for this summer to update to mountain lion. Right now, I need the a new feature of imovie for my project, so I am thinking about buying Life 11 at this moment. However, I just want to make sure that, will updating my OS X includes updating my imovie, iphoto and everything? If yes, then I probably dont need to buy Life 11 to update my imovie now/
I bought my mac back in Feb. and I received a free printer along with it. The Epson all in one Stylus piece of ****. Well I shook the individual ink catridges well and installed them all. Since then I haven't been able to get a clear sheet of paper. All the colours look faded but the actual picture is not distorted. It's just the contrast of the colour thats gone. now is there a way I can alter the amount of ink my printer is using? I have tried aimlessly, looking for an option but I cannot find any.
After the last software update my printer wasn't recognizing ink cartridge. So I uninstalled its software. Now I can't find its drivers anywhere. Epson's website says check your Mac software updates and doesn't offer to download the driver directly. But there are no available updates for my computer as of now. How do I find and install the driver?

I'm trying to print a .psd image from Photoshop CS5 using my Epson Photo Stylus 2400 printer. Yesterday, I downloaded a suggested upgrade and it hasn't worked since then. I used Time Machine and replaced the Epson utility with the old one. I then get a message:Â
Waiting for printer to become available...  and nothing happens. I need to be able to print!
I'm using Snow Leopard 10.6.8
Info: iMac intel processor, Mac OS X (10.6.8), see above
I have downloaded the most recent print driver download from Apple. The computer "recognizes" the printer, yet when I try to print anything I get a "Communication Error" message in the Printer window.
I have just upgraded my Macbook 2.2GHz Intel with 2 GB RAM and 250GB HD from 10.5 to 10.6 My Epson stylus photo R1800 printer has stopped working. I have downloaded the 'drivers & utilities combo package' from the Epson website, installed, restarted etc but still nothing being printed.
I have upgraded my soft ware to Snow leopard and now my almost brand new Epson SX 515W copier printer and scanner will not print. Massage Error:/ System/ Library/ Pri always appears.  have ried down loading also disinstalled printer and reinstalled. Â
Currently running OS X 10.5.8, but need to update to 10.6.8 in order to use new keyboard. Have not been able to find a dowload for this that doesn't require you to already be running 10.6. Do I need to purchase 10.6x in order to update to 10.6.8, and is is possible to download 10.6x online?
I have just upgraded to Snow Leopard and at the end of the upgrade the printer drivers failed to load. I have since updated them myself (Epson BX305) but still get an error message 'rasteroescpll failed'. I have an IMac previously running 5.8.0 and now running 6.3.0.
Am updating my current IMac to Snow Leopard and have received all the parts to do it. Do I replace the current memory or do I simply add the two new memory cards to the computer.
