i have about ten accounts which seem to be working fine on my mbp but on the macpro when i enter the password to an account and I go back to the account this space is EMPTY. and I am having a terrible time getting these accounts to work.
I've made a Smart Folder to have one place to look for any bills I've paid in the last 40 days, with the following parameters:
- Search within a folder within my Home folder called "Accounts & Services"
- Name begins with "PD 2" (all my paid bills are labeled like "PD 2012-02-01 AT&T," for example)
- Last modified date is within last 40 days
The folder worked when I created it, and whenever I opened it for a day or so afterwards.
But a month later when I open the Smart Folder, the latest bills aren't there.
When I "Show Search Criteria," I see the "Search within" has been changed to a circular reference — it SEARCHES WITHIN THE SMART FOLDER ITSELF!
The practical upshot of which is that it finds only the files that were found at the time the Smart Folder was created, and does not find anything newer because it's looking in the wrong place.
I'm hoping someone has a remedy for this, but I don't have high hopes considering the "Mac Quick Tips" podcasts from 2009 in which Smart Folders are demonstrated show this problem in the demo without realizing it.
How do I reset my macbook pro administration password if I can't remember the password or inadvertently typed it incorrectly when updating my settings?
Trying to do a system update on my macbook and it keeps asking for a password. I can't remember it, any way to find out what it is or how to reset it? (This is not my Apple ID)
For some reason each time I go into my email I am being asked the following. Enter password from Account ".mac". How do I find out my password if I have forgotten it?
So this morning I changed my OS X password and didn't write it down anywhere. It was something pretty random, and I don't know if I'd even recognize it if I thought of it. I know, I know, I'm an idiot and didn't do anything right here. I'm the only user on this computer, don't have a master password set up, and don't have my install disc for another month and a half (due to my AmeriCorps program I'm moving around a lot and didn't bring it traveling with me). Is there anything I can do short of taking it to an Apple Store?
I have moved and haven't used my Mac in awhile and also didn't have it for very long before the move. I have locked myself out of the computer and don't remember the password to my profile to enter th computer, what can I do?
A few weeks ago I started getting some error messages from my AEBS that I have a couple of HDDs and a printer attached to.
After a long talk with Apple Support the problem mostly went away but now whenever I try to access my AEBS disks from the shared panel in finder is is gives me "connection failed" and I have to click on "Connect As" and enter my password.
The real problem is that no matter what I do I cannot get my keychain to remember the password.
having an issue with Mail. Iv had it set up to receive my hotmail emails however after i upgraded to leopard it wont remember the password. ill type in the correct one and even check "remember this in keychain" yet 2 minutes - a few days later it will ask for it again.
Is there any way to make Safari only remember the username and not the password of a website when using Autofill? I've noticed that Firefox does this and Facebook does this in Safari when disabling "keep me logged in" (maybe a cookie feature?), and this is the exact behaviour I want.
I use 1Password and thats great, but I'd love to just type my password and automatically have the username show, and not keep having to type in my 1Password keychain's password.
I cannot remember my password and cannot download software. Is there any way to find it or do I have to make an appointment and go into an Apple Store?
