OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Unable To Save Applescript
May 14, 2012I cannot modify then save or create a new Applescript and save it on my MacPro. I get an error message saying I don't have permission. To view or change permissions select the item in the Finder then chose File > Get Info. When I do that, and enter my pass phrase to unlock the lock at the bottom right of the Get Info window I can do that, but I cannot change the Privileges and I wouldn't know what to change them to anyway.
If it helps, I'm running off a drive that used to be my backup drive and the info on it was copied by Carbon Copy Cloner. Also, I recent reinstalled the OS because the machine wasn't booting from the drive reliably. After the reinstallation I ran Disk Warrior, Disk Utility (permissions and repair), optimized the drive with DiskTools Pro and checked its SMART status.
I should add that if I restart off my main drive I can change and save scripts. But I don't want to use that drive as my main drive anyore as I upgraded it to Lion which I don't like (Lion killed my most important applications).

Nov 24, 2009Word 2008, Excel 2008, and Powerpoint 2008 are unable to save to windows shares when saving a file in compatiblity mode such as a .doc file. It saves fine saving the files in the new xml format such as a .docx file. I have double checked the share permissions and they are fine since I can save in the new document format and in other applications such as dragging and dropping files in finder. The error message I get when trying to save to a windows share from Word is as follows....

Jan 12, 2010I know by the title you may be saying... here comes yet another post on iPhoto. But I have a suspicion it is much more than that. thus the post in the OSX category.Here is the short version...
I use to have a MacBook Pro (17" if that matters) with OSX 10.5 on it. Back in August '08 I bought a iMac (24") because I had to give the MacBook Back. When I set up the iMac I did the install that allows you to transfer your settings and files to your new computer before I erased everything on the MacBook.Some how I lost a bunch of Pictures I took and had on the MacBook. I just can't find them... i didn't have iPhoto on the MacBook but do on the iMac.
I thought I had lost the photos until one day I pointed the screen saver to my photo folder. Now I can see my photos in the screen saver slide show... but can not see them in iPhoto or in the Photo Folder.I have hope that they are somewhere on my computer but where and how can I get them into iPhoto?

I wanted to know if there was a way I could make changes i.e. enhance function on the photos and then do a "save as" to another individual file as opposed to saving it in the main, big iphoto file. I couldn't find a way to do that through iPhoto.

Jun 12, 2012Each of my MobileMe Gallery albums have been synced to my Mac, I see all of them in my iPhoto v8.1.2 (Snow Leopard). I'm not clear if they will still be on my Mac when MobileMe expires on June 30 so I want to move the albums to Photos in my iPhoto. The instructions I found in Apple's Support area say once photos are downloaded I can drag & drop them to Photos in the left hand column to ensure they are in my main iPhoto library. I can't seem to make that happen. Tried clicking on one album and dragging it to Photos - didn't work. Tried selecting all photos in one album and dragging the group to Photos - didn't work. I'm sure this is basic stuff to most but I am still fairly new to Mac.  will the contacts & calendar in my iPhone & iPad continue to sync using iTunes after MobileMe expires? Presently not going to upgrade to iCloud or Lion.
