Can't Delete Mail Account In Leopard
May 7, 2012She was having mail issues (passwords etc) so rather then messing with all the random settings I decided to delete the account and then re-enter it so it auto-fills everything. Only problem was that when I hit the delete button it removed the account and all the stuff from the inbox etc but then popped up a messages saying something like "are you sure you want to do this as deleting everything will be lost". Something along those lines. I wasn't sure what it was talking about so I hit cancel to stop it.
Now it seems to be gripping onto that mail account half way. I can close the email program and reopen and then account shows up again in the list of accounts. If I remove it (no messages pop up) then it disappears and about 10 seconds later I get a popup message saying that the mail accounts password is wrong? Though there is no accounts listed and I've even deleted all the passwords from keychain etc. If I enter a password it does nothing (I know I have the right password).Then, if I close mail and reopen the account is listed in the preferences again automaticly? I keep deleting it but it keeps popping back in but with no emails etc and a bunch of password etc popups bugging me. I can't seem to ADD the account again either as it just comes up with an error I think because that account is halfway in the mail app somehow.Is there anyway to manually remove any trace of this account from the mail app or something so that I can re-add it fresh?

Apr 7, 2012It seems it should be easy enough to delete a mail account! But I cannot. I highligh the mail account I want to delete, control + click and ONE of the options is DELETE MAILBOX. I have clicked it over and over again, I get a message like "are you sure?" Since I am I select DELETE, not cancel. And I just cannot get rid of this mailbox.Â

Apr 3, 2012All of a sudden I am not able to attach files to my emails. Whether it is a jpeg or an invoice from Quickbooks as a pdf, it will not attach. A friend suggested that I drag and drop onto the email and that would not work either. I am on a Mac / operating system is 10.5.8.

Mar 31, 2012I have been using a borrowed Macbook Pro (5.4) OS X 10.6.8 so that I could learn some of the differences between the Mac & the PC's that I am familiar with.Before returning the Macbook to it's owner I'd like to wipe out the information I've put onto it while I had it. Documents, passwords, history etc. I'd like to return the laptop as it was when I rec'd it. The person I've borrowed it from is quite familiar with Mac systems, and I'd like to be sure my data is securly removed.
The person I borrowed from has their user account on the computer locked, and of course I can't damage their files in any way. I do have athority to create a new account.
I'm not sure if there is more information you need so that you can help me, but this should get the ball rolling.

Mar 5, 2012I just deleted all my e-mail accounts and created a new one but when i reply some of the emails keep being sent from the old account. I looked everywhere to find some setting linked to that old account but i can't find it.For example:

and when i reply from the second one sometimes it's being sent from [url]..and this adress isn't in my accounts anymore.

Mar 26, 2012I tried sending an email this morning. It was addressed to about 220 people, all BCCd.Â
When I hit send, I got the message:
Cannot send message using the server Gmail [it's a gmail account, obviously]
The server "smtp.gmail.com" did not recognize the following recipients:
Big list of every email addressÂ
I couldn't get out of this screen, so I force quit.Â
Now that message is still in the Outbox, and every time I try to open Mail, it tries to send that message again, and I get the same error message.
I ended up going onto gmail.com and just sending it from there with no issues.Â
I would like to delete this message so it would just stop crashing Mail, but I can't figure out how to do it.Â
I'm running 10.7.3, the version of Mail is 5.2Â

May 15, 2012I am losing random incoming emails in my .mac email address. I first discovered it last week when my wife was getting emails that I was copied on that I never got. Checked inbox, trash, junk, iCloud and never could find them. Then today, just by chance, I had to verify a link via that email address. When the verification is sent, I see it hit the inbox with the new email counter and then it immediately disappears. I have disabled all my Apple Mail rules and Smart Mailboxes. As I mentioned, I have checked everywhere I could think of that it might be going.

Apr 17, 2012I'm using Mail 4.5 on OS X 10.6.8 - I'm using a late-2008 aluminium unibody MacBook with a 250GB hard drive and I only have 4Gb of available space left. I'm trying to free up space on my hard disk and I downloaded Disk Inventory X to check what was taking up so much space - apart from my iPhoto library and Pictures folder which together account for about 125GB I see that the folder containing Mail messages is 42.8GB in size!Â
I'm assuming that this is because I've received a lot of photos via email but I've added the ones I wanted to my iPhoto library so I assume I no longer need the images that were emailed to me. Â
where I can find these email attachments so that I can delete them all at once - I'm hoping that I don't have to go through all my emails one by one to select and delete them individually?Â

Feb 3, 2010Whenever I delete an email using iMail, it doesn't delete from my gmail account when I would just use the regular browser to check my mail. Is there a way to delete emails both off of iMail AND from Gmail so it does not appear when using a browser to check my mail or on another computer?
