I'm new to Mac's, when I try to copy from a website into Pages, Pages inserts a Paragraph break at the end of each line.
Is there an option to paste as plain text, or even better yet to turn off the Style Guide (I believe it's called that) all together.
Well I know how to get a video wallpaper for my Mac, but I just love the background on here, http://rupertgee.wordpress.com/ and I would really love if I could use it on my Mac as my wallpaper!

c2002 eMac that had to have the OS reinstalled. It is running Safari 1.0.3. I have installed all updates via the software updater and the issues I am having are the aluminum keyboard is no longer functioning correctly. When I go to apple/support to download updates the page will not load fully on safari preventing me from installing the needed updates.Â

How do I copy a link to a website into a mail or document?

Firefox has this option on OSX (each frame on separate page), but safari seems to lack such an option. I need to print multiple frames (invoices from zencart) each on separate pages. When I try to print with Safari it will either try and print the selected frame, or it will print all the frames as it's laid out on the page (all printed on one page). Am I missing this option somewhere? Is there an extension I can try (already tried print plus to no avail)?

Switching website from Mobile Me to Go Daddy if pages made with Go Live (not iWeb). Do we access the SITES folder or the WEB ->SITES folder. I remember a while back Apple switched from accessing our webpages from the SITES folder at the first level. They created a folder entited WEB and put an RSS and a SITES folder within it. They did something to the index to "point" to this folder.Â
1) I've created my pages with Go Live. I have successfully used them with my iDisk. I did not use iWEB.
2) I have bought hosting on Go Daddy.
3) I cannot seem to have the webpage open as it does in iDisk
4) Am I supposed to access and transfer the files INSIDE this path:Â iDisk --> WEB --> Sites
OR
this path:Â iDisk -> SitesÂ
5) I can't remember why Apple started the new folder, but the dates seem older if I go to iDisk --->WEB --> Sites
6) I've been uploading my new files to iDisk--Sites. The dates are my newer filesÂ
I uploaded the folder to Go Daddy, but I need to type a longer path to get it to find the index.html fileÂ
I also have other folders I put at the root level. I'm not even trying to get to them yet. I'm trying to get the site to open to
one folder only at this time. I can't even get it to do that.Â
Can someone please tell me what Apple did about 2 years ago to create an index that "pointed" the the correct opening page? Or, can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I copied the entire folder.Â

My problem is that I had backed up my site a long time ago, after which i have made many changes. Now when I open iWeb it takes me back to the original days of the site. I still have the desired folder in "Sites", but can seem to get in onto iWeb. Is there any way to put my latest site back onto iweb?
I haven't setup time machine, I publish using Easy iWeb Publisher, I don't have have a Mobileme account

I tried in Safari and Mozilla and I can't seem to open a link on this website and I know I can open it with no problem on my PC. the website is [URL]... and I can navigate to that site, but when I click on any of the links like education, it says "you have chosen to open index.php file, what should mozilla do with this file?". When at home our users connect to our VPN in order to access particular work websites. For some reason though this user is unable to browse to one particular work site from her MacBook. When she types in the address she gets taken to a generic D-Link page saying that the web address cannot be found.Â
I know she's connected to our VPN when trying on the Macbook because she sent me a screen cap of our intranet site. But for some reason the MacBook and her dlink router are just not getting along. Â
The reason I say this is for two reasons...
1) I gave her back her old PC laptop to test, just got an email from her saying she was able to access the site with no problem.
2) I took her MacBook home with me this weekend, fired up the VPN and successfully browsed to the site. I currently have like 200 other Mac users and none of them have had this issue.Â
Is ther anything in OSX 10.6.8 that can be set to allow or limit router traffic? Since the PC has no problems accessing the site I have to assume that it's a setting on the Mac.

I can't open any website PDFs. I've tried Adobe Reader and Preview. All I can see when I click on any website PDF is a totally black window. The problem appeared suddenly about two weeks ago. ( I can open PDFs that were already downloaded.)

Since upgrading to Lion 10.7.3, Safari no longer sees a mail application, despite Mail being open simultaneously. So I cannot send webpage links using Mail. I can see nothing in with Safari or Mail preferences to link these programs.

Recently I've been unable to get past the 'maintenance page' of a specific website in order to logon. i hava an older powerbook G4 running Mac OS 10.5.8. there is website [URL] which broadcast news and musics. the station is physically located in NY, and some unknown reasons, i am unable to get any radio SOUND from that site. I have a Mac Mini running Lion Server. We are going to use it for software update, profile manage , vpn, ect. When I'm not on the LAN I can load the [url]... however when I'm on our LAN I'm unable to load this site. I can start load the site from the LAN by putting,[url]..., but the page then redirects to [url]...auth?redirect=[url]... and will not load because of the domain name. This problem is also causing me to not be able to push profiles to machines while they are conected to the LAN.
My goal is to be able to load the site from anywhere as [url]...

I have been having problems with my Safari and firefox. They both say they are up to date. When I use fire fox to look at Hotmail.com, it takes a while to load and when I try to open mail in new tabs, it opens a tab saying "javascript;;".
When I use safari to look at hotmail, it does an infinite loop and stays blank..the URL thingy just goes in loops. I mostly use fire fox, and some times when I go to type, I will get a 10 second delay before my text appears..
I am not able to download from my bank website or other websites that my children send me with videos on them of the family. I get the same error on both these applications that I can not change the content of the folder and therefore unable to open the file or download the file. What do I need to do to change this?

I copied a program from an 8-track to DVD recorder in combo with my TV. The resulting DVD was finalized and plays well in DVD player but will not play in the MacBook so I cannot copy it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new macbook 13" (first time ever using mac so i dont know much yet) and have been trying to copy some of my files from my pc to my macbook using my USB flash drive, however everytime i try to copy a file from the usb to my macbook i got the message: "The operation cannot be completed because you do not sufficient privileges for some of the items."
After clicking ok to this message the copying status bar doesnt move and the estimated time remaining displays nothing even after waiting for ~1hour.
I tried going to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility to repair disk permissions but the option is greyed out on my flash drive.
I have also tried reinstalling osx but this seemed to just be a big waste of time.
As a complete newbie in the mac-world, I am faced with some challenges since everything is (fortunately) not identical to the windows world.
One that is driving me nuts is that I am unable to cut anything in almost all applications and folders. I know the shortcut is what-that-keys-name (ctrl in windows) + X, but it doesn't work, since it is always "greyed" out/inactive.
Could someone explain why that is? I should say that most, not all, of the files were copied over via an external HD from my old windows machine.
