I've just done a video on my Canon stills camera and it imported into iPhoto. But the video doesn't then appear to sync with my iPad. So I found the file in Finder and dragged it into iTunes. Problem there is that it isn't really a Movie or a TV show - I don't want a short clip of my cat in amongst feature films.
We just started a small company that has a business plan that will need some type of POS credit card machine that will interface with our IMac. MacBook or IPad. We plan on purchasing IPhones also.
If I have a pdf file and I want to copy and paste it from my Mac's pdf to Word or Excel or to search a word from pdf, apparently I realized that none of these functions work, the command F (Search for a particular word) and Command C (Copy a text and paste) None of these work....

I set up my time capsule using the wizard that apple provided. I have one SSID set up and wpa pw. I can use both Iphones (802.11g) and m macs (802.11n). Since they both work (With old TC, iphone would not see it because I set it to N only) am I running the most efficient way? Network utility shows macs connected at 270 Mbit/s and G devices at 54 Mbit/s. The gizmodo review says that they show show as 2 separate access points? [URL:..]
This has been happening on and off for weeks. Sometimes it even seems like only search engine sites like Yahoo! and Google aren't working. I click on a site and it does nothing. Then after a long time it says Safari can't connect to the internet. What can I do to find out what is wrong? It's taking me forever just to post this question because Safari is hardly working for me at all right now.
Am in need of a new mfp colour laser printer. Need one that works well with,ac book and also the possibility of one that will work well with iPad? All a little confusing in the market place and have had a couple salemand types promise the world. But before I shell out some big money I am interested to hear what other in the Mac community have done and what indeed to know before I purchase.
I am currently managing 20 iPads on a macbook. I would like to manage the same 20 iPads on a new macbook pro. I have logged into the iTunes account on the new machine and see our apps but not the devices. How do i get the devices to be shown on new comp?
It seems that everytime I visit a tech site like anandtech and stumble on CPU articles or discussions, they talk about overclocking. On the latest i3 CPU, the author overclocked the 2.93GHz to a stable 4GHz wihtout even needing additional cooling. Why is overclocking such a big deal on the PC side, but not on the Mac side even though we're using the same family of chips?
I have been getting some conflicting information on the number of devices I can use in my classroom with my personal account. I was under the impression that five devices was the magic number but I recently have been told that it is only one per account if the device is being used in a public setting.
I have a strange problem with my SyncServer, every time I use any application that has anything to do with syncing information such as iSync or even iTunes with my iPhone or even mobileme sync, the syncserver crashes and nothing gets synced.
I haven't been able to sync anything for a while because of that problem and I do not know what to do.
Most of my educational DVD are in ISO format. As Handbrake sees it, each lecture on the disk is one title, and it converts one title to a destinationfile at a time.
How do I convert the entire disk (iso file) to one file in Handbrake?chris650
I am in market to upgrade RAM from 4GB to 16 GB on my refurb iMac which i bought early this year , not too good with finding correct ram and a good price..
I have been looking at the new mac minis (self upgrading the HDD and RAM), but for not too much more it looks like I could get a 12-18 month old mac pro. Is it worth getting the older machine with better specs or will the new mini actually be more capable?
I will use it for photography (lightroom, PSE6, iphoto) word processing (MS Office 08) and obviously email/safari. I have done quite a bit of searching around but can't seem to find much info on this topic, plenty about G5 powermacs vs mini but nothing on the dual xeon dual core 2.0ghz pros.
I'm eyeing the mini right now because os x >>> windows for music (inherent midi drivers instead of 3rd party, stability, etc etc).amittedly I currently run a hackintosh on a previously windows pc. It is stable with the exception of gfx crashes every few hours and its inability to use the gfx card to its full extent. This gets to me though and is kind of a bitch. So I'm thinking about getting a mini when I have the money for one. I would get the standard with the 4gb ram option. How well does it deal with heat under stress? and is the HDD 7200 rpm for the non server edition?(edit: roarrrr just read that its 5400, so lame)
I was just wondering what other iPhoto users are doing when importing some random shots into iPhoto, that doesn't belong to any particular event? Having all those unnamed events in the Events folder is cluttering it all up.
I went through some fairly difficult procedures to rid my computer of Flashback and quickly got in over my head. So I called tech support, and they told me, if I have OS X 10.7 and do software updates regularly, that I have nothing to worry about. They said Safari is not compromised, and there's no reason not to enable Java. They said software updates is more important than any third party anti-virus or anti-malware software that I could run. I would like to know what some of you in the forum think about these issues.
I have a personal and a work iPhone. Both are iPhone 4s from different carriers, can I use both of the phones on the same iTunes account without creating another one.
I migrated from mobleMe to iCloud on my macbook air, using the [url]... ID, and on both iPhones using [url]... ID. The two iPhones sync with each other for apps-purchased, contacts, iCal and Contacts, but the macbook air does not. How do i get the three devices to sync? Apple says both IDs are migrated to the iCloud.
Info:MacBook Air (13-inch Late 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.4), both iPhones are iOS 5.1.1
I don't know if it's even possible to sync to iPhones with a single application, but I'm looking for a simple financial application that does this.
I want to be able to use two iPhones to record information about daily transactions and then sync that information with a 'mother' app on the mac, spreading and updating information between the iPhones.
A friend and I will be going to Europe in a few weeks. We both have iPhones and I was hoping to charge both of them using my Air so that I do not have to bother with buying extra power converters. I already have the UK and EU plugs for the Air adapter.
Can I sync 2 iphones in one account with out losing songs I've already got. Erasing & syncing replaces the contents of this iphone with the contents of this iTunes library? Should I go ahead to erase & sync?
I've got a MBP and will be charging two iPhones off of it most of the trip. How big of power inverter will I need? [URL:..] will this provide enough juice?
This just started happening today. I have little snitch monitoring the network activity and it's generally quite calm, however now it's going crazy with incoming connections from other students (I'm on a university campus) and iphones of all sorts.
I am trying to setup photostream to work with two iPhones. I have created a me.com account for one of them and a gmail.com account for the other iPhone. The me.com account works for photostream but I cannot get the gmail account to work. The me.com account says that it is the primary account. Does this mean that photostream only works for one account?
I have an AEBS that runs 2 network, one for our laptops (all Mac) and one for our iPhones.Recently (maybe after upgrading the FW) I can?t connect any iPhone 2G, 3G or 4 to our Wifi. They see the network (sometimes), but are asked for password. I get the message wrong password or unable to connect to network. The password is correct (they used to join automatically) so what is wrong?
I am getting a new iphone for my wife and am unsure whether to create a second icloud account or stay with one. I know that we can use the same iTunes ID for apps and music, so no issues there. But I also want our phone calendars to sync with our Mac (already connected to my phone via icloud). My preference is to have two icloud accounts with linked calendars so we can each have 5gb of free storage. Is that doable with shared calendars on the phones and the Mac?
If we must be on the same account, how to separate out our mail and contacts? We are not using the @me account for mail, so my guess is if we use a separate email account in respective phones, our mail won't get mixed up. Is that correct? We already have multiple groups in our address books. Can we select multiple groups to sync one phone and others to the others? Also, can we access shared notes?
