View 1 RepliesFriends, I'm new to Macs (4 months now), I need to know if any Mac EXPERTS have a way of avoiding plist files getting corrupted. Are there things I can do that will prevent me from ever getting these corruptions? What I do for right now is run OnyX on fully automated with all maintenance scripts enabled about once a month, I always shutdown because I used to get iTunes crashes after allowing sleep, and I lastly run Disk Utility every week whether I've installed anything or not (just to make sure for permissions errors).
Is there anything else I could be doing? Also, by doing all these things, have you EXPERTS found that you NEVER have corrupt plists, or is it inevitable in Leopard?
How do I stop itunes from corrupting it's library on almost a daily basis? It's actually becoming infurating to use, and what's happening is I am losing my downloads since the last automated itunes backup (having to rename & replace the current corrupted library with the last backup which is usually a day or two old).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently downgraded from a 128GB SSD model to a 120GB HDD Rev Air. However, I learned after the fact that there are in fact NO aftermarket hard drives of any sort for the Air because of it's SATA - LIF connector. Given the fragility of the 1.8 inch HDD, this pretty much means we're all going to have a very nice lookin' paperweight after the warranty runs out. Does anyone know if ANY company is going to release an aftermarket SATA - LIF HD? It seems unlikely since the Rev B air is the only notebook that uses it... if that's the case I'll probably end up selling this computer despite how much I like it

View 6 Replies View Relatedi wrote a thread last week about some pixel issues. i've now figured out the cause of the faint pixel lines that have mysteriously begun to appear on the far left part of my screen. the pixel lines appear where i have had application windows up for an extended amount of time. saturday i had safari open for only an hour or two and a line developed on the left edge of the window, which remained there for several hours afterwards. i've also noticed lines develop on the bottom of the window as well. the pixel lines stay burned in for a couple hours and then slowly fade to normal. this makes my claim a little more tricky i think.
i've tried switching from a dark desktop background to a lighter grey, but the ghost lines still manage to show up if the computer gets used for more than just a brief period of time.
it's annoying and will probably only get worse, so i think it's time to head up to the apple store. what are my chances of them repairing/replacing my iMac? (it's less than a year old and therefore under warranty.)
