is there any way i (or apple) can pull up some log of all activity that has been done?
such as, opening a program (such as iTunes,) hitting play, hitting pause, saving a file, deleting a file, shut down, start up, sleep, even typing?
anything like that?
Is it possible? I remember that the first time i ran GarageBand i had an update available for some free loops downloaded via software update, but i don't remember the pack name.

As the Title of The Post says, i need to know if Apple Hardware check, Does check the hard drive. I'm getting a little bit more frequent hard drive clicks so i want to make sure my HD is not failing. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed last night the 1TB WD Scorpio Blue without a problem in a 2010 MBP 13", but seem to be having some issues now. Im showing the drive is shown w/red text and failing the SMART status in the disk utility. It showed verified when I installed it last night and reinstalled OS X, but now this. I have also been getting some beachballs, but does seem to be running fine now. Is this a sign of just a bad drive, or is it normal for a non-apple drive to fail the smart status check?

Is the Mail Activity in the viewer window not working properly or is it supposed to show only very limited Mail Activity? Â
Would be convenient to not have to use the separate window for viewing Activity.

I can add items to my cart (doesn't matter what it is: i've tried various items). But once I go to check out it asks me to login and when I do I get taken to a page that says "An error has occurred during your session. Please return to the Store Menu to continue shopping." No matter how many times I try to checkout, I'll get the same error.However, if I login to the Apple store from my Macbook Air running 10.5.8 (which recognizes me as the same account as the same items will show up in the cart) I can checkout fine with no problems.

I write emails everyday in 3 languages and so far what i do is: in a new email, right clic to open a menu, then clic spelling and grammar / clic show spelling and grammar / choose your language / close the menu. I hope this hasn't been covered elsewhere (I can't find it if it has).My problem is that the history setting although set to " Remove history items after one day " does not. I Have reset Safari 4.0.3 and it still doesn't delete the history. Applecare can't seem to solve the problem either. Please help, although this isn't a major problem it is very annoying. This was happening before SL and I was hoping SL upgrade may have fixed this but it hasn't.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI have a new 17" MBP and recently it stopped going to sleep on its own. I can force it to sleep my apple menu or shutting the lid. I have tried everything I can think of... all programs closed, nothing running (to my knowledge) and in activity monitor it shows the disk activity writting every 20 seconds or so... my only conclusion is that it's not letting the HD become inactive long enough to send to sleep... can someone please help me with this?

I knew everything was working fine on my Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz i5, 8gb ram, Mac OS X Version 10.7.3. I loaded up my Mac this morning and tried to open Activity Monitor but wont open. When I drag the application to the dock, there is no icon picture for it. I looked on the internet and it told me to load up Console, which I then found done the same thing.
In Utilities I realised the App 'Podcast Capture' was also missing its icon, but since I do not use that, I am not worried. After looking through google again, I ended up using FirstAid and repaired the disk and permissions. That still made no difference. Finally I then decided I could delete the .plist from preferences, to then find neither of the files for Console and Activity Monitor were there? And I had not deleted them.
Once last thing, in Terminal, every time I open it, it comes up with, bash: /usr/libexec/path_helper: Unknown error: -22
Not sure if this relates to it in anyway? The only thing I know that may have effected it was setting up a Minecraft server which I had to use a chmod a+x (file location). Which I thought gave it the commands. Didn't work anyway, but whilst in the middle of doing that I realised all these other issues.
