Can I just delete them from the HD? Because for Windows, messing with files that are related to the registry or system can really cause big problems for the computer.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a question about using my new samsung tv as a monitor for my macbook. I have all the cables and such and my TV reads the computer. It actually shows the desktop background, mouse, and the toolbar on the tv...
BUT....when i try and open a program such as safari or itunes it does not display the program on the monitor but rather on my macbook screen. It shows the program open on the tv monitor but it shoots off the screen and then opens on the macbook screen.
Also the mouse disappears from the tv monitor screen on the left side only, and when it does it becomes visible back on the macbook screen! Any tips or suggestions on how to get the programs to show up on the monitor instead of the macbook screen?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded a photo manipulation programme to see if I like it - but I don't. How do I uninstall it? In Windows there is the control panel with the uninstall feature, but I cannot find anything similar in my Mac (OS X 10.6.4)
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter 20+ years of Windows, I finally got my 1st Mac Pro 2 days back. Everything went smoothly including installing 4x750 Samsung Spinpoint drives from newegg, 4 GB of extra memory from OWC, Raid set up, and so on. For instance, I want to uninstall a program that I installed as I want to reinstall it. In Windows, you've this wonderful control panel that has everything. Mac's Utility folder has some stuff, but not what I am looking for. I love the right-click mouse feature in Windows; can't seem to have that work on my Mac. So, is there any kind of resource available which lists everything that the OS does without any pretty pictures or over-simplifications? The 81-page manual on Apple site didn't do much good to me. And, how do you uninstall a program? Throwing the .app file in the trash didn't help.

Now...I have bought Missing Sync, however I cannot install as it still thinks SyncMate is there? It is no longer in the trash or in the applications folder? Am i missing something obvious?

View 24 Replies View RelatedI'm so fed up with all the bugs in SL i encounter, i want to go back to 10.5.8, when everything just worked. However, SL messed up the connection with my TM backup disk (cannot access sparsebundle, error 109) where my 10.5.8 OS resides.
So now the only way possible seems to install with my original 10.5 disk.
Can i downgrade by doing an archive and install of an older system (leopard) over a newer system (SL) If it can be avoided i don't want to reinstall all my apps as well??? For example what will happen with all my emails?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I downloaded PDAnet to my computer and I won't work, so I want to uninstall it. The website says to run the uninstaller from the home directory. I run PDANetuninstall.sh from the finder app and when I click it a textedit box comes up saying some jargon along with pdanet has been uninstalled, reboot. Well, when I reboot, pdanet is still in the applications folder and the uninstaller is still in the home menu, and can be run again.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI currently have accidentally deleted the entire Mac HD file and replaced it with the system file for Windows OS (entirely accidental). Point being is, to re-install Mac OS X, my computer is telling me I cannot do so while I have Windows installed as there is no available space for it. So...I am trying to delete Windows, without the ability to use Mac OS X, and so far, nothing has worked (I have tried Add/Remove Program -> Change/Remove Programs, but it thinks, for some odd reason, that there are never any programs on it, including the OS itself, which Windows help support says should be there...)
