Jan 13, 2010For years in my department we have been supplied with PowerPoint line drawings to put into our Indesign Executive Summarys etc and have had to redraw them as the quality is poor when copied across. Does anyone know if there is a plugin of some form that can actually convert these line drawings into vector for us so that we don't have to redraw them?I did find a thread that suggested doing 'print to file' from PowerPoint and saving the slides as Post Script files. I have only managed to get this to 'kind of' work with a couple of slides, the coloured boxes come across fine but the text comes across rotated at a 90 degree angel. Still proving time consuming as the text lines come across as separate text boxes too.

Dec 1, 2014I have been given a powerpoint presentation (stills and music) that I want to use in a FCE project (16.9, HDV), but am having trouble getting it into FCE.
The powerpoint presentation opens in VLC (which I downloaded) and plays well on my Mac in a 16.9 display ok.
The original file is .wmv but it needs some kind of conversion to make it play in FCE.

Mar 10, 2009I have been given a ~400 slide Powerpoint Presentation, and need to extract all the text from it.
However, when trying to open it in Powerpoint 2004, it just quits everytime it attempts to open the 90Mb file.
Keynote has had more success, but I really do not want to be copying and pasting every slide into a document.
MacBook Air :: Not Able To Close PowerPoint File - Screen Goes White
Dec 12, 2014I have not been able to close any powerpoint files. I have 6 open and when I try to close any of them, the screen goes white and the only way to get out of the application is by Force Quitting. When I open the application again, all the files get opened, even though I've already disabled opening last files in powerpoint preferences.
I recently installed Yosemite 10.10 and the Powerpoint version is 14.4.6.

Jun 10, 2009I just got a 8 core Mac Pro at work and it has developed a nasty crashing habit. I think that I have narrowed the problem down, but I wanted to see if anyone had any advice. The machine crashes whenever I view a PowerPoint (08) or Keynote (09) file in presentation mode. In the current setup I have the presentation on one screen and my notes and information on the other screen. I am running dual 24 inch LED monitors (not mirrored) and when I disconnnect one of them, there is no crashing and the presentations work great. I have two NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 video cards.

Unfortunately however when you do click on the song and then navigate to one of my other pages on the website such as my portfolio, the music stops. I was hoping that the song would play continuously while navigating through the website no matter what page the visitor was on. Is this even possible?

Aug 6, 2010...now I don't have the same functionality with iTunes. Basically, I can't use iTunes at all anymore as the interface for my music and videos. Once the external drive is mounted, I can navigate through it and play individual songs, but I can't use iTunes to do that. All my previous Playlists show up down the left side of iTunes, but there isn't any music in them.
I downloaded 2 songs yesterday, made a Playlist out of them, and because the path in the Advanced tab of the iTunes Preferences is correct, it automatically added the songs to the external hard drive. I synced my iPod and it was completely erased except for the 2 new songs. Is there a way to use iTunes to navigate my music like I used to when I stored the information on the internal hard drive but keep the information on the external drive? I have a Mac running Snow Leopard and the latest version of iTunes.

May 8, 2009I'm sure most people suffer from this but here goes.
So I make a presentation on Mac Office powerpoint, everything is fine. I open it up at university on the PC, all is fine. I maybe change some text on a slide and save it again. Open the same file again on my Mac, and it won't open some silly error comes up saying trouble accessing file from mac HD.
Then luckily I have keynote, so I just open it in that and use that.
Point is why does this happen?? Whilst keynote is better, sometimes I have to edit things on a PC at work or uni and then it becomes a giant mess on my mac.
Is there a quick fix, or will I have to throw Mac Office into my growing pile of Microsoft related garbage.
OS X :: Music Won't Play - No File Extension
Dec 4, 2010I have close to a hundred music files that won't play, they have no file ending (.*). They were transferred from a now formatted computer (no way to recover). I have no idea how to get them to work. If I give them an AAC ending RealPlayer will give me the following information but it won't play them. Since it tells me the length of the song it must somehow recognize it.

May 2, 2008I teach and have some staff members that would like to set up pp's to loop continuously and play embedded music. I can't figure out how to get the music to continuously play.
I can--have the presentation loop in a kiosk format and have the music play one time through. When the presentation gets begins the second time through the music quits and the presentation continues.
I was taking the music from a file in MP3 format.

Sep 29, 2009Why do they both exist? My best guess is just that they switched to iTunes Library but maintain an identical iTunes Music Library file for now for compatibility (since the XML files exist so 3rd party apps can access the iTunes library).

It is now showing that instead of having 80+gb of data there is zero and now a file that says USBC and some other characters. I tried running disk utility and it said "filesystem verify or repair failed". Music folders and files disappeared from external hard drive now showing USBc file.

Mar 13, 2009I've got to a point where the HD on my MacBook is just too small to hold my music library, so for a while now, I've been housing it on an external drive hooked up to an Airport Express. My setup certainly isn't without its fair share of problems.
Setup: I keep my own folder structure, with folders for specific categories and playlists. iTunes's music folder structure has never been organized enough for me, so I don't use it. Another reason is I have music in my library that isn't in iTunes (since I don't frequently use it). My music library resides on an AirDisk, while my iTunes database along with some local music folders resides on my Mac.
Problems: Whenever I move songs/albums/playlists from the local storage on my Mac to my remote library, I have to go through and reselect the file location on the AirDisk for every file. I've also noticed that files on my AirDisk typically appear with an exclamation next to them, won't sync to my iPhone, and won't play in things like iTunes DJ unless I manually mount the AirDisk. Even then, iTunes only sees the specific song I clicked. iTunes still thinks other songs on the AirDisk are unavailable (even though the AirDisk is mounted), and thus skips them when playing unless I specifically click a song. Finally, whenever I move my music library around (like putting it on a NAS), I have to go through and manually change the location of each and every song!
All of these problems makes me think there has to be a better way! I've read about using iTunes to relocate the iTunes music library or database to a different disk, using the "Consolidate Library" feature and other built-in features, but it doesn't seem like any of these would work with a custom folder structure. I also know there are various 3rd-party "helper" apps available, but I haven't looked into them. Perhaps a 3rd-party app could simplify the process?

Dec 29, 2008I am trying to run a slideshow with a remote controller on the data projector. I am using Powerpoint for Mac X. I am running Mac OS X. I want to go to a previous slide during the show, and using the remote I hit the "right click" button, which works when the slideshow is driven by an XP machine. When I click the "right click" button on the remote during a slide show, I get a menu on the slideshow that lists the following options: help, next, previous, go, etc. I want the slideshow to immediately go to the previous slide and I don't know how/where to set it to do so.
