View 1 Replies View Related2MHz PPC G5 iMac OS 10.4.11. Several attempts were made to login with wrong password. The iMac is now frozen on the login screen. Entries can be made in the Username and Password fields, but there is no response to "return" or "cmd" keys. The action buttons (sleep, login, etc.) are grayed out. Power button only puts machine to sleep, and it wakes up at frozen login screen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am stuck on my login screen and my wireless keyboard is not working. We've tried everything and even replaced the keyboard. Still the keyboard is not working. Can't get into the programs to troubleshoot because I'm stuck in the log in screen. Wireless mouse works.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 3 user ids on my imac, 2 are admin and one is not. When trying to upload a lot of photos onto the desktop of one admin user id the screen froze. Absolutely nothing works, you can't click on anything and the keyboard does nothing! It has only affected this user id, the other 2 are fine. I have tried restart, verify disc, repair disc, virus scan.

OS X Maverick (10.9.3)..I have an iMac I need to have the user at the login window, log into AD. The iMac does not have an operable ethernet port. I suspect the iMac is old enough, the thunderbolt port is video only, since a known working thunderbolt to ethernet adapter did not connect (I think the iMac is Mid 2011 and I suspect the iMac is out of warranty). Wireless works fine, and I have made the iMac a member of the domain using the private network, after logging in locally. I cannot create the user's mobile account, because I need to have the iMac use wireless at login, connecting to the private network, at login.
Is there a way to have the login process use wireless to initiate the login for the mobile account and creation of said account?I know there is a way to do this under Windows, just hope there is a way under OS X.
I have Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB, Serial Number YD******0TG, Software OS X 10.9.3 (13D65) Did not have any problems until recently. Now my finder is frozen. When I open finder I see a lot of windowo all piled on top of each other and I am not able to click on anything and see my files. I read somewhere that Google Drive causes problems but can't find the article. I cannot afford to get rid of my files in Google Drive. I do not have a lot of computer experience and am somewhat afraid I will do something that will make me loose a good deal of information on my computer. Have the same problem when I try and access Mackintosh HD from my desktop. I have shut down and restarted computer.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 3 daughters sharing an eMac running 10.5.8 and one of my daughters accounts no longer is viewable from the login page that has my admin login and other daughters logins.
Under the finder>Macintosh HD>Users I see her folder.
Under Apple>Sys Prefs>Accounts I do NOT see her as an account.
If I try and create the account using the same name it tells me that a folder in the users folder has the same name and would I like to use that folder as the home folder for that account. I have chosen OK but the account is still not visable under SysPrefs or the login page.
I am sure there is a simple box to check some where but can't find it, does someone have a cure?
Anyone having problems accessing gmail in Safari today? When I try to access the sign-in page, it tells me that "Safari can't open the page [URL] because your computer isn't connected to the Internet." I am clearly connected to the internet. Also, my Mail.app cannot connect to my gmail account and neither can my GPeek widget.
However, I have no problem accessing gmail via Firefox. I have noticed this problem a few times over the past 2-3 weeks, but though it was a google issue. Today was the first time I thought of trying to access gmail via Firefox, and it does, which points to Safari. Of course, now that I've finished typing this up, I can access gmail via Safari with no problems.
I run windows 7 and MacOSx on my Macbook pro. I use bootcamp to switch to Mac OSx. I never had prooblems over the last 12 months in switching between the two but recently when I try to boot OSx, the apple screen comes and stays there forever without going to the login screen. I have been having some problems with Windows lately as well with auto restarts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery time I go online to check lottery numbers the facebook login page takes over. I have never used facebook but my daughter has used this computer to do her facebook stuff.
Even when I close Safari and run ccleaner to get rid of everypart of facebook that I can. The sme thing will happen right after I go back to that web site.
I haven't noticed facebook jumping in front of any other site, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't. Can my daughter change anything at facebook to stop this? Can I tell my mac to block facebook?

So I restored a backup from the 16th of June today from Time Machine. Just now I accessed 'Documents' folder from the 21st June backup and restored the file as I have made changes to Documents since the 16 th of June. Then I went back into 'Time Machine' to look for more files to restore.....and it has frozen on the Time Machine window with all the stars around the finder. How do I get out of time machine now? (Apart from shutting it down).
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhat I'd like to do is have Safari use AutoFill for my passwords, but not store the passwords in my login keychain. I'd like to have a separate keychain that I can unlock from the menu bar that allows Safari access to passwords that it otherwise would not have. And I'd want it to work seamlessly with the Safari AutoFill. I tried manually adding a password in the Keychain Access Utility, which I don't want to have to do, but even then when I told it to AutoFill (although I'd like it to AutoFill automatically), I had to give Safari permission to access my keychain.
For example, if I went to Facebook, it would present the usual blank password field. But if I unlocked my keychain and then went to Facebook, the password field would already be filled in.
Even more ideally, I'd like it to skip the login page completely (as if "Remember me" had been checked), but I don't think that's possible.
Everytime I sign facebook, it is keep delay delay and can't enter the front page. I check up cookies, try facebook widget, and trying to solve and nothing happen yet. It is strange that mobile facebook works. I prefer laptop. I only have mac 10.3.9 and using safari and firefox.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am on mac laptop OSX 10.9.2 using Mail 7.2. I tried to open a "Mailer Daemon" message and it is frozen, not even open but a grey colored blank "message". I've tried: closing the message unsuccessfullyForce Quitting the application (reads "Mail (not Responding)") when I do. (4 times)Turning off the entire computer, letting it rest and rebooting. (3 times)Opening up my server on the internet and deleting the offensive message "mailer daemon"Turning off the computer again.
So...as soon as I open mail, the grey "message" is open. I can click on the Mail Viewer window and have that come forward, but all is frozen.Just did it again and it hasn't changed. Had to force quit again. Never before in 8 years of using the Mail application (different computers). The rainbow wheel of death spins and spins.

The computer is completely unresponsive and won't shut down or turn off. It is stuck in Set Up Assistant after trying to sign in to AppleID. Attempting to shut down or restart produces the following dialogue: "The application Set Up Assistant has cancelled shut down. To try shutting down again, quit Setup Assistant and click Try Again."
HOWEVER it is impossible to quick Set Up Assistant— the icon is completely unresponsive even to force quit, right click or anything.I've managed to get into being able to see Dashboard and at the top Desktop and the dock below. But I can't click on anything from there. So it seems it is not the whole computer.
I logged onto my iMac today and checked for any updates. I found updates for iPhoto, Thunderbolt, Airport and I think Safari. After it downloaded the updates and installed them, it wanted to reboot. Upon clicking ok, it went to a grey screen while initializing the updates, or something to that effect. Then it said an unknown error occurred and press ok to reboot. I presses ok but nothing happened, the box disappeared and the blank grey screen remained.
So I rebooted and the logon screen came up. I put my password in, which was accepted and the iMac moved on to blank grey screen with the darker grey Apple symbol in the middle and the the 'thinking' wheel doing its little circling thing just below that. It's sits there like that and doesn't move to the desktop screen. I've tried rebooting but it stalls at the same point. It's running the latest version of X. It didn't come with any disks and I don't have Time Machine.

Cannot log into imessage. it was working fine before, and i had turned on my mac. when i logged in, imessage told me to log in, in which i did with my Apple ID password. However, i keep getting a message saying that i cannot log in at the moment, but I know that there is nothing wrong with my network connection. I've tried a couple times more, but i keep getting the same message.

When I try to log into iMessage from my Macbook Pro (OS X Mavericks Version 10.9.4) the loading symbol appears for as long as I leave it and never actually logs in. I have read every solution to this and tried everything, from deleting the .plist, to turning on firewall and adding iMessage and IMAgent, to changing my apple ID, resetting JAVA, forcing quit IMAgent on Activity Monitor. Nothing has worked, still the same problem every time. I have tried to delete iMessage and see if I can reinstall it somehow but it won't let me do that either.
