I am new to Macs and all I am trying to do is make an audio file into a movie file so I can upload it to youtube. I used to use windows movie maker and insert a random clip, then my instrumental I made, then turn off video sound and keep audio sound at full. Is there anyway I can do something similar on MAC because I want to upload my instrumentals to youtube but I cant because they are only audio files.

I'd like to play a game at the same time that runs off of a CD, will this pause or hault my upload in any way? The game is the Sims, and it plays fullscreen just like WoW, etc. Just wondering if Firefox will resume the upload.

During the process of uploading attachments to emails or posts or uploading anything to putfile, the screen dims from the top and I get a multilingual message telling me to hold down the power button for several seconds. Now it tells me that the .zip file ext will not be accepted by the website and so I tried to change the file name in the hope that this would be accepted. Unfortunately it does not seem to want to upload this and I am a bit stuck on solutions. I cannot reduce the file size by removing some info from the document as you can understand.

It will copy, dowload or move the file, then begin making copies until I reboot. This makes it impossible to deal wit hfiles unless I want to spend a lot of time rebooting after every time, then deleting all the redundant copies.

I'm digitizing some taped conversations with older relatives onto my Powerbook, via AudioHijack Pro. Once I have all the .mp3s on my HD, I'd like to combine them into one CD, divided into tracks. They are generally stories reminiscing about childhood, and I'm going to make some CD jackets that describe each one as X-mas gifts. I know how to make DVDs with chapter markers in iDVD or iMovie, but how should I do this for strictly audio CDs? Garageband, Quicktime Pro, Toast?

Once iv done this i go into my sound in system preferences and it shows on the volume bar that its maxing out and once i go into garage band to try and record something all i hear is a "click click"! I am wondering if someone could PLEASE recommend a good FREE program that can convert my .wav file to a .mp3 file. I've downloaded 3 programs, and none have worked.
I also need to find a way to make an audio loop. However, Garageband won't take my .WAV file which means I still need to convert the file. Once its done converting it should take it though right?
What is the best software for recording streaming audio? I know QT X can now do it, but the quality of the recording isn't the best...

It is a scratching noise that I assume is coming from my internal hard drive (hard drive is stock, has never been replaced). It isn't a super loud noise, but it sounds like the noise some hard drives make when they are "searching" or "thinking". The first batch of videos was copied to an external drive from a Windows PC with MacDrive installed. When I came back to my Mac, I plugged the external drive into my Mac and moved those files to my hard drive.The second batch was copied using Connect to Server command right from my Mac.The funny thing is Final Cut Pro cannot recognize the first batch of videos.So I took a look at the file permissions using Terminal. All of the videos in the first batch have a file permission of -rwxr-xr-x@ but the others have -rwxr-xr-x. I tried to do a chmod 755 on every video file, but the @ sign still wouldn't go away.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make some DVDs using iDVD. I want to play The Dark Knight and Benders Big Game at other locations. Anyways, I'm trying to make separate discs, not one disc for both movies. When I try to drag the file to iDVD, it says that the file is too big and to play with encoder settings. The encoder settings are already at best performance. In Finder, the file is 808MB, yet iDVD claims it is 8.08GB. I know for a fact that the file is 808mb, not 8.08GB. The file was .avi, so I converted it to .divx, and this still didn't fix it. I also tried the other movie which is .mp4, and I had the same problem.
