OS X :: Aperture Keeps Wanting To Use MobileMe Keychain
Dec 15, 2010
When I launch Aperture, it keeps asking to use my MobileMe keychain. Why is this and how do I permanently disable it (I searched in the Keychain app but didn't find it?
I've recently got myself a new PowerMac and re-subscribed to MobileMe, but it keeps giving me a password box for the Keychain of a old iMac G5 I sold a few years ago, how do I stop this. I've attached a picture of the problem.
I am part way through moving my accounts from MobileMe to iCloud. They are all set up on one of my Macs. On the other Mac I am getting told that "Keychain cannot be found for XXXXXXX".
my dad has Pro Tools 8 (the mbox) and he is wanting to plug it into his Mac Pro, however it seems there is only one FireWire port on the back of the Mac Pro, which is currently being used to power a 30" and 23" ACD.
How can this work? is there a firewire splitter, allowing you to use two firewire ports from one?Or anything else you can do, does anyone have any idea's?
I'm sure this is a very basic question, but having just made the Mac switch a week ago...I am lost. when I did a forum search, I found out how to access keychains, but I'm not sure if I found something particular to my question- please forgive me if I overlooked something.
I was downloading microsoft software last night and all of a sudden I began getting these little pop-ups that say "A keychain cannot be found for safari" with the option to cancel or reset to default.
Safari keeps giving me popup windows saying a keychain can't be found. It's only just started doing this but it's really annoying. Could it have anything to do with the fact I installed a new flash player? That's the only difference I can think of.Also on another computer it keeps asking for a password to access the keychain. It only does this on one user account though. Any assistance is gladly accepted!
I've never used OSX before about a week ago, but I am picking up on it well (I've used GNU/Linux for almost ten years so I know my way around an operating system). But I don't really think keychain access is working as it should...It's hard to explain. I mean, the way I understand it, shouldn't it be saving the passwords I type into Safari and auto-filling them? Because it only auto-fills some passwords. Paypal autofills, but my bank's website doesn't, and even this forum doesn't autofill. I have to type in my password every time I visit.
Is this working as intended? Is there a way I can get Safari or Keychain to fill in all passwords for me automatically? This is leopard on an iMac G5 iSight model. I did a fresh install like a week ago. Sorry if my question is vague but that's the best I can do with the amount I understand.
Well, my MacBook Pro arrives in a few days and I wanting to triple-boot OSX, XP and Ubuntu. It's got a 500GB hard drive so I'm wanting to split the partitions up into 250GB, 200GB, and 50GB. I need to have all 3 on the same computer.I'm following this short tutorial:Quote:# Make sure you use Leopard and have it updated (10.5.2).
#Start BootCamp and create a partition for Windows XP (15G is enough).# Don't install it through Bootcamp.# Insert Windows CD and reboot holding C when you hear the beeping sound.# Windows installation should start, follow the usual installation process of Windows.# If it reboots during installation, you press ALT during reboot so that you can pick Windows installation.# After Windows is installed, insert your Leopard DVD and it should install all your Apple drivers and stuff.# Update your Apple Software (there will be an option on the start menu to do so).
# Updte Windows XP.# Now that Windows is installed, get back to MacOS, we are going to install Linux now.# Start Disk Utility and create a new partition on Machintosh HD, name it Linux# Insert Linux CD and reboot holding C# On Linux installation, delete the partition you created (Linux) because its HFS, and set it as ext3 and mount /. Don't create swap (I know its going to warn you, but ignore it).# At the last step of setup, click advanced because you need to change where GRUB is going to be installed, choose sdaX (which X is your Linux partition).# Let it install Ubuntu.# Get back to MacOS, install rEFIt, reboot and run the partition manager of rEFIt, which should take care of every detail of booting for each OS.
#If XP was installed before the partition change, it will need boot.ini to be edited to change its partition from 3 to 4.# Reboot and that's it.Has anyone else done this? And is there an easier way? What problems have those of you that did this run into?
reinstall from a back up. After clicking, I decided I wanted to copy some information back so I cancelled it and now I am stuck in the OS X Utilities window. I want to go back to accessing the HD to copy some files and make sure I have all backed up. how to just restart and skip the Utilities window?
How do I remove iDisk from the sidebar and clear that folder on my mac? If I click on the icon after closing the account. I am asked to log back in to MobilMe. Mobil Me is over. I don't have iDisk anymore, so how do I clear it from my computer?
I'm able to look at all my keychains, except Private Encrypted Data. Any ideas why? I've used my Mac password on every keychain, but this one I just can't open.
i have a 500GB HDD which has two 250GB partitions, one which is working for time machine, and another one for storage, that one for storage is NTFS, so i can just read but not write files, which is very annoying.
Can i just reformat that partition without loosing my time machine files? I already copied the Storage files to my internal HDD, also which is the best format? I want to be able to read/write stuff both on PC and Mac
Is there a way to copy my Time Machine files to my computer, reformat that partition too to FAT32 and pass them back?
Got a suspicious email wanting security updates on my bank accounts. Didn't use the link in the email & didn't knowingly download anything from the email. Went to another server & accessed my bank account to get an address to forward the email to. Went back to my mail & found that the suspected phishing email had vanished. My bank says I most likely got a virus from the email, thinks my account(s) has been compromised & advised me to scan my computer for malware before trying to go to my account again. My Software update shows I have the latest security, I never got a message advising me of suspicios sites or downloads. So how do I check for a virus or malware???
I noticed that Aperture 3 is priced really, REALLY low on the Mac App Store. So I made the decision to buy it. But... I already have Aperture 2 installed. So what happens when I buy Aperture 3? Does it recognize that I have Aperture 2 installed, and upgrade it, or will it install Aperture 3 alongside Aperture 2?
I have an old pre-Intel G5 Mac desktop and want to keep using Mobile me Mail and Entourage because they work so well and I have been using them for 10 years. I cannot get the mail system to work having moved everything else to iCloud. Followed the instructions but it just does not work and the mail.mac.com server will not accept my password. Any ideas?
Since 19th May 2012 I have not been able to receive e mails on my mac and can only access mobileme mails by logging onto the internet. I've tried all the obvious things to get it working but to no avail.Funny thing is that I can send e mails no problem from my mac but cannot receive - the only thing that does come thru is Applenews.
I recently changed the password on my keychain and now when I boot up my computer, it'll ask me for the password everytime. It'll ask me randomly when opening some applications like Chrome, which stores its passwords in Keychain.
Here's a screenshot:
There is no "Always Allow" or anything like that. I have to enter it every time.
Also, I don't think this has anything to do with it, or maybe it does but I recently started using LastPass and 1Password (which I deleted the same day b/c I liked LastPass more). Could either of those applications be causing this problem?
I need to figure out a way to access the X509Anchors keychain. I've tried my admin password, and even enabled root access, but that password wont work to unlock it. I need this keychain to be able to remember passwords and such. I tried deleting it in keychain access after copying all the files from it, that didnt work either. Even when it was gone the programs still need it. I remade it and put all the same security certificates back in it, but the programs still cant use it. I can unlock it with keychain access, but I have a feeling its not the same one, because i cant unlock it.
can someone explain what keychain is and how it works. I been using my mac for about a week now. At start up it asked me if I'd wanted to allow keychain for a startup program. Did I miss something while registering my macbook pro?
I'm just wondering if there is any way to specify some kind of wildcard/regex for a keychain entry, so that instead of having an entry for [URL] and one for [uRL] and one for [URL], I could have a single [URL] or something similar? I've googled for more information on the keychain quite a bit but haven't been able to find anything useful.
Could someone direct me to a 'SIMPLE' set of instructions regarding the use of Keychain app? I've looked at keychain.app and tried to figure it out, but to no avail. I still have questions. iMAC, Leopard, 3.06
I was wondering how does keychain actually work? How will it store my information? Will it still going work and store information even if i am not or never going to activate and open it?
Every time that i start my computer up and go to an application that requires a password (eg adium, mail, safari) i get a pop up that asks me to unlock my keychain. it's done this for a very long time but has only just started to cause a problem. sometimes when i open an application at start up the pop up for the keychain password doesn't appear and causes the application to freeze and requires a restart to fix the problem.
is there any way i can stop it from needing to ask me?
i've tried unlocking the keychain and then restarting
