Jan 10, 2010I have a 15" unibody pro, and when it's all cleaned and polished it looks absolutely stunning but quickly it becomes covered in smudges, fingerprints etc. It shows every little spec of dirt. It drives me insane, I'm constantly trying to clean it. It's so bad I'm considering selling it and buying a white one unless the white one is just as bad. From what I remember owning an older white macbook, it's wasn't as bad.

MacBook Pro :: Reapplied Thermal Paste To Old (pre-unibody) White MacBook?
Jun 10, 2010I have a ~2 month old 13" MacBook Pro (specs in sig). Several hours ago, I reapplied thermal paste to my old (pre-unibody) white MacBook and I am THRILLED with the results. I have a thread about it here: [URL] My white MB runs so cool, that I prefer using it, rather than my MBP.
I would replace the stock thermal paste with Arctic Silver Ceramique, but I am concerned about my warranty possibly being voided. Another reason that I wouldn't do this to my MBP is that my controlling mom will not let me do this to my new computer. If I can get any evidence from any of you that this will not adversely affect my computer or my warranty, I may be able to convince her to allow me to reapply the thermal paste.
MacBook :: White Unibody Bottom Plate Colour Change?
Jan 25, 2010The sleeve I keep my laptop in got wet tonight and now the bottom of my macbook is a weird grey/green/yellow colour. The sleeve is by logiix. I can't find the product online but the inside of the sleeve is micro-fibre-ish kind of material... I took some pictures but the quality is really bad, i took it from my cellphone.... I'm wondering if there's anyway to clean it up or do i have to live with it forever... Why does this happen? Might Apple cover it?

Nov 29, 2010So i have the mid 2007 (i think) non unibody white macbook.
Yesterday after some normal usage i noticed the battery had only 30 minutes left even though it had 94% left, also the Service battery Now message had appeared
This was odd cause even though my mac is quite old a few days before the battery was lasting a normal 4-5 hour charge.
after leaving it charging over night after trying to recalibrate the battery(i dont think it actually ran all the way down as it lasted minutes while not on battery power even though it was 99%), resetting the pram, nvram and SMC, the battery now reports 20 hours of life left, but the "Replace now" message came on.
now obviously i would be ok with 20 hours of life left, but its had 20 hours left for 30 minutes an hasnt decreased
Ive googled and searched the forums but couldnt find an answer ...

Apr 4, 2010i noticed that my bottom of my new macbook started to get quite dirty. mostly from hands and not surfaces because I clean all the surfaces before putting down my computer... ANYWAY, I thought I'm gonna try something different than iKlear. I grabbed my make-up remover. NOT to mistaken for nail polish remover. Make-up remover doesn't have any harsh chemicals. and OH MY GOD, it worked so well. So use make-up remover on a soft cloth or cotton pads, that's what i use, to clean your bottom case! I would like to hear what you all think of this I've been doing it since about a week after getting my Macbook. The only spots I cannot remove is the the four corners. I don't think there is away around those pressure spots.

Jun 13, 2012my trackpad is freaking out, it's possessed. It sticks, jumps all over and spazes out over every little move. my MacBookAir is around 9 monts old, kept very clean, no mess on the trackpad, clean hands/fingers and it's been going on for days now and I am about to stat freaking out too.

Jun 16, 2012I'm in a position where I have no way of clicking, this brings up a ridiculous problem I never thought I'd encounter whereby I can't even back up or fix the problem.
Ridiculous error if you ask me, there is an option to use universial access and turn on mouse keys but I can't click the stupid option.
How can I click/select items. Can't find any shortcuts that will allow me to do this, plugging in mouse still doesn't work.

Now that you have that info, onto the issue.
My track pad will work to move the pointer, but I cannot click on anything. If I shut down and restart my computer, I am able to use a usb mouse just fine. If I so much as touch the track pad the usb mouse will only move the pointer and not click anything. I will have to restart the computer to be able to use the mouse again.
I have tried a SMC and a PRAM reset and it did not work. I did check the track pad settings and those are all ok. I am not sure if there is a way to do the AHT without a disk. I did look into some .plist thing to, but was not able to find what they were talking about so I did not do that.

Nov 7, 2008Alright, here goes my last two weeks. Two Sundays ago I was playing football with a couple friends. The game ended abruptly when I broke my leg and went to the hospital, but thats not the bad part. I was in the hospital for 6 hours and when I got home I found that someone had broken in and stolen my 32" Vizio flatscreen TV, xbox 360 elite, DVD player, and most importantly my 15" Macbook Pro. I called the police immediately and they came out and did the standard police thing, but as I've been in contact with them lately, they say they have no leads and I'm not going to get my stuff back, bottom line. Now I'm left with no computer to work with and worst of all, I know I'll never get the things back that were important to me on that computer. I had pictures on it from when I was 10 years old and I'll never see them again. I worked really hard to save the money to buy those things and they are all gone in an instant. I just can't believe it. I have no one else to turn to and I just don't know what else I can do. I'm getting married soon and I can't afford to go buy a new laptop, to be honest at this point that's all I care about as far as what was stolen. If anyone knows any way to track a laptop or xbox 360 it would be appreciated. I know its a long shot.

Whenever I start or restart my computer, the keyboard and track pad click are unresponsive at the login/password screen. The computer recognizes them and eventually enters them but the delay is almost 2 minutes long! I have logged out without restarting and I do not have this issue. I have tired repairing permissions, and resetting PRAM. I am thinking about an Archive and Install.

MacBook Pro :: Track Pad Was Not Functioning Properly
Feb 26, 2012I have a 2010 MacBook Pro 15" and randomly, just opened the screen to wake it from sleep, and about 5 minuets after being on the computer the track pad started becoming more and more unresponsive. To explain on unresponsive; at first the two finger scroll to scroll the page up was not working, then the pointer would not "follow" movement from my finger very well, and finally anytime I touched the track pad (such as just laying a finger down and not moving the finger across the track pad) It would do almost any gesture and was completly unresponsive of movement. I restarted the laptop multiple times, complete shut down wait about 10 min then start back up, and the track pad would be functional for a couple of minutes before doing above listed again. So I cleaned the track pad with a napkin while pressing down which seemed to make it work again and so far has not acted up again.
