Will Spore and Spore galactic adventures run efficiently on the aluminum Macbook 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo? I have 2GB of stock RAM, what kind of RAM would you suggest using to upgrade it to 4 GB? I might of used someone else's message from another game, but still..we are in the same situation.

I've never really played any games on the MBA yet and am wondering if any of you have played games with similar requirements but still had decent results.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using my MBA for over 6 months period and my disk space is getting smaller and looking for some solution to free up some space. Been looking through forum to find out how to permanently delete the trash but is not facilitating much. Also read through forum that back up file and log file also can take up lots of space. I has set up an external hard disk for back up but after 3 months I am not able to back up as my external hard disk also running out of space. As of last error back up I been getting error that I need to back up 80+GB file which my external hard disk does not have efficient space.

Just retired my G3-333 MHz (Gossamer MT). Had two (250 GB SATA) HD?s running 10.4.11. Put one in my ?New? G5 2.0 GHz Duel Core, which also has a 250 GB HD running Leopard. I have thousands of MS Word & PDF documents stored on my G3 drives. When I drag & drop my documents onto the Leopard drive ? their blue, white, red, colored icons are transformed into a bunch of ?non-descript? almost translucent icons. This really sucks ? One should be able to distinguish various types of documents at a glance! Does anyone know how to get the icons for Adobe PDF & MS Word documents, which were standardized between OS 8 and OS 10.4.11, to appear ?normal? in the Leopard OS? Is there a ?Preferences? setting or a ?Third Party? software fix for something like this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhile studying I often summarize stuff i learned in a word document, and because its handy not to rewrite everything, i used to copy material out of pdf documents. Most of them are protected so i use the program "bildschirmfoto" (I guess its called screenfoto or screenshot in english) which is already installed on leopard.
- So I make the screenshot of the material (selected area)
- I save it to my desktop and then
- Drag it from the desktop to my word document
I guess there is a more comfortable way to do this. Like just select the area I want to screenshot and then dragging or pasting it into my word document - without the need to save it in between.

Whenever I'm video chatting with my friends on ichat, the video window just automatically shuts off. Whenever I use photo booth the camera keeps shutting on and off giving me a message camera is not connected. I went to the apple store and they replaced my camera but still this issue keeps happening. I did an archival install of osx and nothing helped. I whipped the hard drive and did an install of osx and that still didnt help. What should I do!!

I've read that Safari saves a favicon for every site it visits (if it finds one)! My webpageIcons.db file is 9.8 MB now (versus 156 KB for Bookmarks.plist and 788 KB for HistoryIndex.sk). Is there an efficient way to save just the favicons my Bookmarks lists use, and delete all the others? Wouldn't this speed up Safari almost as much as deleting them all?

Firefox' site rendering is much more fluid than Safari's. Safari loads the BACKGROUND again and again with each click completely upsetting the eye. Firefox has the background steadily black as it is and loads the randomized image properly without any kind of irritation.Is there a way to make Safari load pages more efficiently like Firefox?Or is it just a rendering of all WebKit browsers that behaves like that?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo my MacBook has recently lost it's ability to output audio through the built-in speakers or another device. I'm quite frustrated as I watch and listen to tons of multimedia, and not being to hear a thing is quite sad. When I hit the volume up/down keys, all I get is the on screen audio level indicator and thats it. I've restarted a few times already, resetted the PRAM as well as the SMC and nothing improved. I want to try avoid taking it to the Genius Bar as I'm really not going to have the time to do so this week, and I believe there is a simpler solution.

I have an aluminum macbook and I just bought a monitor for it. I want to have the macbook closed on a vertical stand but I am concerned about heat problems. Does anyone use their macbook on the vertical stand most of the time and if so do you encounter any heat problems? and are there any stands out there that cool it as well so you don't have to worry about over heating?

Background info: I first thought this was just me being too fussy about minor details. I compared my brand new mbp with an older one from 2009 and definitely felt the difference between the aluminum of the lid. I went to several stores and they were surprised themselves about the textured aluminum lid. They first told me this was some kind of production fault and I should swap the macbook pro. Well, the next day after cloning my drive and bringing the macbook in for a swap they told me that they looked at other macbooks and they figured this texture thing seemed to be standard. To be honest - I didn't believe them because they couldn't show it to me hands on - so I went to another store where I found mid 2010 macbooks with a more smooth aluminum lid than the one I have.
Well all in all I am quite confused. I googled the hell out of this topic and only found one post confirming my issue - here I don't know if Apple has some kind of release doc for each charge of macbooks they produce, or maybe some tolerance level for the fabrication of the aluminum.
The backlight on my MacBook went out suddenly today, no idea why. Is there some way to replace it without having to replace the entire display assembly? It is very difficult to get the assembly apart, but I will be on break from school and will have plenty of free time to fix it if it will save me a few hundred bucks. So is it possible to replace the backlight only, or is it a part of the lcd panel?

I was told that the old MacBooks were fine as they had DVI output, while the new MacBook Pro has DVA output. Both CPUz and CoreTemp report the CPU clock frequency as 1.6GHz, rather than the 2.4GHz it should be (multiplier at 6x, and FSB at 265 Hz). Is this a design decision? If so, why? I noticed that i was running 1 powerpoint document, 2 word doc, adium, firefox and vlc player which was not running, but it was lagging so much that i couldn't scroll my word doc.
