i just asked my younger brother today what he might want for xmas, and he was telling me that his 15" pre-unibody macbook pro gets really cold on his drives to and from school (30 minute trip). he said he has a cheap case for it but whenever he gets his mbp out after his drive it won't turn on for a while until it warms up.
he was wondering if i could find some kind of insulated sleeve for his 15".
is that the solution? any recommendations on what brand to get?
Soon i will be getting a Mac(i think) and was wondering about a case. Since i want a Macbook Pro with the Unibody Housing i want it to be safe. Now i can't decide if i want a case or a Sleeve. Now the Case might have heat issues even with the vents that are on the case. The sleeve won't have that issue but will it be more prone to scratching the Macbook it self? Or should i go no case and just sorta deal with the scratches. There is a Price difference between the Sleeve and the Case. About $20 Cdn more for the Case.
They both cost the same and both look like they offer good protection. They also don't look too ugly either. Anyway's if any of you people know. Will either of them scratch my MBP? And which do you think I should get?
Does anyone know of any decent-ish sleeves that would fit the new MBA 11.6" and provide decent levels of protection.... or is it to early for any to be on the market?
I know theres a million threads about sleeves, so all I can say is I looked through many
basically I'm looking for the 13 MBA equivalent of this for the MBP:
[URL] Something well padded and somewhat rigid so I could throw it in my backpack or briefcase, with a pocket that could hold small stuff (hdmi cable, iphone cord, earbuds)
anything like that for an air? or would you not be concerned about the extra space in that guy designed for a MBP
I'm pretty sure this has been talked to death but I can't find the answer.
I'm looking for a bare minimum neoprene or otherwise sleeve for my 11.6 MBA.
No second pockets, no carry strap, It doesn't even need to close. I just want to slip it in and then put it in another bag that doesn't have a padded slot.
Hey guys, I was just wondering what sleeve/case (if any) you use to carry your MBP around? I was looking at the neoprene cases available on the apple website, but from the comments, it seems that the discolouring seemed to be pretty common for these cases.
What features are most important to you guys in purchasing a case or sleeve for your MacBook Pro's?
We are currently in the design, development and prototyping stages or creating sleeves specifically for the MacBook Pro line and what to know what exactly it is that you guys, as consumers are looking for.
One thing we're looking to do, is NOT utilize a zipper - or metal of any type. As users ourselves, we've experience scratched cases first hand, not traveling that route.
We're looking to launch, using some fantastic full-grain leathers that we've been fortunate enough to source given our vast experience in the footwear & apparel materials industry. I think you'd find the quality to equal that of some "designer" hand bag companies - with the added costs.
So.......lets have it.....what do you guys like.....and just as important - what do you not like?
I bought a 11 " and loving it now I need a nice small case or sleeve so my wife doesnt destroy it.. Not too many out yet has anyone come accross a nice quality sleeve or case? I found a few this one looks the best so far. Here is the link. ( its on back order ) but I figured I would share the link.
I am about to pull the trigger on either a booq Taipan Skin S or the Vyper XS2. I have an Aluminum 2.4 Macbook. I usually sleep my MB overnight and when I'm not using it, I usually shut it down about twice a week, but in the mean time it sleeps. Can the MB overheat when it's sleeping in its sleeve?
The only reason I ask that question is because there was a disclaimer on the Booq Vyper XS2 page;
Quote:
Note: The surface of the MacBook is sensitive and discolors easily. In special cases, when the white MacBook has been left running for an extended time in the Vyper XS2, discoloration can occur. Apple expressly advises that you work on a surface with adequate airflow because the MacBook gets very warm during normal use. When warm, avoid working on dyed surfaces, because of potential discoloration of the lower surface of the MacBook. We do not take responsibility for potential discoloration of your MacBook.
I think they mean specifically for the old white and black MBs, but I was just curious. Has anyone had experience or heard of MBs overheating while sleeping in their sleeves?
And besides that, does anyone have experiences with either of these sleeves? I've heard good things. I'll put it in my backpack, so I'm deciding whether or not the extra $10 is worth it for the Vyper over the Taipan.
I'm thinking of getting the new 13-inch MacBook Pro soon, but I'm wondering about cases and bags. I was looking around (not hard, and only online thus far), but I haven't stumbled upon and sleeves with handles. The Incase Sleeve Plus is still too big and bulky (strictly speaking, I mean appearance, not actual size and weight; one without a flap going over it, just a zipper).
I was just wondering whats the best case/sleeve to buy for a 13" MBP.
I want one that prevents scratches and dings but also keeps my MBP safe from water since ill be using this laptop for college and most likely will take it in a backpack soaking in rain.
I'm not sure what case to buy for my 13" Macbook Pro. I want to be able to hold a mouse, charger, itouch and possibly a CD holder. I would prefer something under $40 too.
I'm getting my 15" 512 SSD Matte MBP soon and I'm wondering what some good cases and sleeves are? I'm looking for something that would give good protection (so no Neoprene).
The black speck satin case looks nice, do any of those types of 'cases' provide any protection or are they almost all for aesthetic use?
Got my self a Macbook Pro 15" i5 just a few weeks ago and I want to take as good care of it as possible. I'd like to get a sleeve for it. A protective one! Have been looking on this one and I think it looks pretty thick and good. What do you say?
Does anyone have any information/experience with the shells for your MBP? I had thought about getting one for my MBP but I have read issues of the cases scratching the laptop as well as the plastic clips holding the case snapping off after a month or two. Seeing as how most of these cases are around $40-$50, I just wanted to see if this was a good idea or if I should just say screw it and get a sleeve instead.
Ok, so my MBP 13" is in it's bright orange hard case, and I wanted to get a snazzy (preferably neoprene) sleeve with handles to tote it around in, and wondering WHAT SIZE bag to get for it to fit in with the hard case. Do I get a bag made for the 15" even if it's a little big? Not really worried about protection since I do have the hard case, just transport.
Mine just arrived in the mail today ..... Anyone else have this sleeve? Looking great so far didn't bring my MBA with me to work so have to wait to try it out.
