MacBook Pro :: Unable To Keep Settings / Date And Time Resetting?
I have had my new MBP for about 2.5 weeks. On two different occasions, when I turn my computer on from being completely off the pop up appears saying my date and time are set improperly. The computer sets its self/ forget the date and time and goes back to 1/30/2000 at 6 am or so, when obviously its not Jan of 2000 and I'm not turning my computer on at 6 a.m. Anyway to make sure this doesn't happen? Has anyone else had this experience? I never once had this problem with my whitebook the 4 years I had it.

OS X :: Unable To Set Time And Date / Time Date Settings Wrong
So I shut down my computer earlier today for the first time in weeks. I restarted it and then left for a few hours for dinner. I come home and I look at the last time MobileMe Sync and Time Machine did their things. They say they did them at 7:45. I look at the clock on my cable box and on my iPhone, both say 6:45. Weird that the MacBook's time is wrong. I go into Time Date settings. I see that when the MacBook does the "Auto locate where you are so that we can set the appropriate time zone, etc. the MacBook things I'm in Rexford, Idaho. I haven't been to Idaho in about 25 years, and my MacBook has been sitting in Southern Kalifornia for the last one year since I bought it.I've tried to have the MacBook auto-locate again, and it keeps finding me us in Rexford, idaho.

Software :: Losing Time And Date Settings / Wireless Settings Changing?
I have a G5 Duel 2GHz Power PC, Recently I was losing the time, date and wireless settings so I assumed as my machine is now 4 years old the PRAM battery was up for renewal. This has now been replaced but I'm still losing my settings, not all the time but randomly, sometimes I lose my wireless key sometimes I lose time and date sometimes both, this can happen daily. I have removed the (New) Battery and checked the voltage and it reads 3.6 Volts, I haven't checked this under load though, so presuming that the battery is OK, what else could cause this.. a failing System Board?

Software :: Time And Date Gets Corrupted / Unable To Set Date And Time
I'm running OSX 10.5.8 on a G4 iBook. Somehow my Time & Date files got corrupted which prevented me from getting on to the internet. When I discovered the problem, I threw them away, thinking a restart would create them again. I was wrong. Now my computer doesn't know what time or year it is, causing various problems. I don't have back-up 10.5 disks to extract the time & date package. Can I download a replacement anywhere? Or can someone email the files to me? I don't know what they're called but, if you search time and date, there are only two (and please tell me what folders they're in too)

I travel a lot and need to change my time zone. If you need a crash report from me, please tell me how to get it from Console bc I don't know where to look for it! P.S. I am using old OSX 10.4.11

MacBook Pro :: Resetting All Settings?
I had a MacBook for about a year now and a few weeks ago I started having problems with videos from online (ex. YouTube). They would start loading and stop, on and off. It would load about 2-3 seconds of video every few minutes. So I reset safari and everything, that didn't help. Anyway, I got a MacBook pro last week, and I transferred everything from my MacBook to the MacBook pro via ethernet cable. I am not experiencing this problem on the MacBook pro since the transfer. I reset safari again, no help. Have had friends use their computers on my wifi network, they all work fine. My speeds are over 10mbps. So my question, I don't want to erase all of my data, as I have no means to backup my iTunes library which is huge and all my documents and such. Is there a way to go back to factory settings though? Like should I reinstall the OS without erasing my data?

Power Mac G5 :: Wrong Date And Time Settings And Failed Internet Authentication At Startup?
Wrong Date and Time settings and Failed Internet authentication at start up on PM G5 I have a recurring problem with both Date & Time wrong setting and failed Connection-to-Internet authentication occuring each time I switched on my Mac - either on OSX Tiger or Leopard. The symptoms are the following : Initially I haveDate and Time (D&T) correctly configured in the D&T preference panel (region, Day, Hour, etc) with the update setting activated "automatically" via "Apple Europe [URL]. It worked perfectly well for months and even years since I bought my PowerMac G5 2x2 GHz in mid-2004. Then, suddently few weeks ago the Date & Time setting is systematically going wrong at launch. When I started (switch on) my G5 - either on Tiger (10.4.11) or Leopard (10.5.4) volumes - I got the same Error Message : "The clock of your Mac is set on a date from before March 21, 2001". Effectively that wrong date appears in the OSX menu bar and the D&T panel. The message also said : "Do use the D&T preference panel to correct it manually"!! Of course, I did so. Therefore each time after I switched off the Mac G5 and restart it (from power off), the same D&T problem occurs - again either on OSX Tiger or Leopard. However when I simply "Reboot" on the same or the other volume there is no problem with D&T or Internet authentication. Everything goes well !! I also did notice that simultaneously "Connection to Internet" displayed a message :"the authentication failed" !! This message appears despite the correct ID and password are set on the Network preference panel (and supposed to be memorized) in the "Integrated Ethernet" configuration). Then as soon as I re-enter the Internet Network password in the alarm window it works : the Network is activated and .... D&T is also corrected automatically (right Day and Hour). My conclusion is that both troubles are linked. However the question is either it's Connection to Internet which induced the Date & Time problem - may be (?) because if not connected at launch through the automatic setting from "Apple Europe [URL] D&T cannot set itself - or in contrary it's because D&T is disturbed - by what ?? - that Connection to Internet then failed to authenticate and open the network ?? I think the first assumption is more rationale. But that does not help me because I have already checked everything possible on OSX preference panels (D&T, Network, Account, etc) as well as other "usual suspects" (PRAM, zapping, permission repair, maintenance scripts, cleaning caches, etc, etc..). But unsuccessfully... Nothing works !! Now I really don't know what to do to correct both disfunctions... except to reset completely the Network settings or even ultimately to reinstall the OSX system and apply all settings. Information: Power Mac G5 Mac OS X (10.5.4) also Mac OSX 10.4.11

I would like to introduce myself as an photo-fan working regular with Aperture. That does not mean, I know that program in all details. So here is my first question: in mobile me, I published my fotos in a gallery. A friend uploaded his photos as well. Now I recognised, that fotos are not in correct order. Error was on my side, since my time settings in my 5D where 1 hour too early, e.g. 10.30 where it should have been 11.30. IChat AV 3 :: Resetting All Specific User Alerts To The Global Settings?
A while ago, I set the Action for a specific buddy (a sound notification for a particular 'event') because I wanted them to be different from the global setting on that particular occasion. Now, I just want notifications for that specific buddy to behave just like all the rest, or in other words, I want to return him back to behaving in accordance with the global settings. I know I can update that particular buddy's settings to be the same as the global settings, but this is a real pain whenever I want to change the global settings, because I have to change those, then go in and change the settings for this buddy also, just to keep it all consistent. Is there a way in iChat to reset all individual buddies' behavoirs so that they follow the global settings again and stop using the individual settings? I tried turning them off in the individual buddy's Actions, but that just turns off the notifications entirely for that buddy. Information: 17" PowerBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.10) 1.67 GHz PowerPC
